Tell me the thruth is end of July tolerable?

October used to be our best kept secret but I think everyone bragged about it so much that los of folks caught on. While it is busier than it used to be, it is still much less crowded than the summer or major holiday periods. So you might have to wait an average of 15 minutes for an attraction. With fastpass, the waiting is a cinch. Also if you are an early riser you will be able to walk right on attractions in the morning. Avoid going to parks that have early entry unless you plan to be there when it opens and if you do, head over to a different park as for some reason people are drawn to the early entry park even if they get out of bed at noon. If you've ever been to WDW high season, you will be delighted with the October crowds and weather. I have gone when it was really hot and humid and couldn't get certain family members to leave the room until night rolled around.

Being from the deep South, it is not too much of an adjustment for us as far as humidity but it is another notch up. We've been in June and early August and it rained constantly in June so this time we will be there in early August again.

We'll be there this year at the end of June. We went two years ago at the same time and I swore NEVER AGAIN! However, this is when we can go (we don't want to take our son out of school - he's 16). When he was a pre-schooler and in elementary school, we would go in January - loved it. Light jacket, no rain, no crowds, no heat - lovely. Now, when we go it's 95 degrees with high humidity, crowded and it rains every afternoon. We do exactly what everyone else has been saying on this thread -- get an early start, stop for a nice lunch, go back to the resort for rest or pool break and then back to the parks in the evening. It is tolerable, but barely.

In 2000, we went July 28-August 6th. We found the weather not terribly intolerable. It was overcast almost everyday and only rained once. One note, however, we are from NW Florida!!

We go aboutthe same time you do. Last year it was great weather barely rained and the weather was about low 90's the whole trip but it can get pretty hot at this time!

We are thinking of going end of July through Aug 2nd. Are we going to be able to stand it? We live in California in a town called Valencia, which does get in the 100's in summer, but its a very dry heat...just worried we won't be able to enjoy the trip with the heat and humidity? But we also feel that it will be more fun during the summer since we can go to the waterparks and the theme parks will be open in the evening as well - which makes for a much longer day? What about the crowds - are they also unbearable in the summer? Our other option is Oct 4 thru 12, but I'm afraid everything will be closing early then, and its so much more fun to go back to the hotel in the afternoon and swim and then go back to the parks in the evening? HELP!

The last three years we have gone the last week of July/first week of August and it's always great! Not crowded at ALL! Obviously since we have never been tehre any other time, we cant' compare to offseason. But in the end, its a trip to WDW.

Anybody else have some experience with last week of July/first week of August? We went last year and it was definitely manageable. And they didn't even have early entry. Although, some days were worse than others. We're going again this Aug. I hope the Fairytale Package doesn't change it considerably.

I have blonde hair and very fair skin and have always went to WDW in the months of July and August. It is very warm and humid but I have always found that as long as I drink plenty of water and wear a hat that I am ok!

I'm taking my twins, age 15 to DW July 28 to Aug. 5 on the FT package. Couldn't beat the price. I also swore I would never go this time of year. We've been there several times before, so we won't be doing commando park touring either.

I would've loved to go in early December again, (my favorite time of year) but the twins go to different high schools, one private, one public, and they never have time off together.

As far as the weather, I know it will be hot, but you can never tell, we've been there in Dec. with 98 degree temps, we were just there in March and it was in the 90's. Did early October once and we froze. So, you can never tell.
Just enjoy!
