I am thinking of making some homemade macaroni & cheese today, I would to hear all the different ways that all my DIS friends make their's!
So I will start this is how I make mine, this is the way my mother and her sister's made their in West Virginia!
cook 1lb. macaroni (drain and rinse with hot water)
In a Pyrex baking dish
Put some macaroni in the cover the bottom, then add a little butter, raw onions, and slices of Velvetta cheese, repeat this for at least three layer's. The final layer, sprinkle a little cinnamon on the top, poor in some milk.
Bake in oven pre-heated oven at 350 for half hour, then at the end, turn up the oven to 400 to 450 and stay close by as you have to keep a watch on it, when cheese is melted and starting to brown just a little remove from the oven, left stand for 5 minutes!
