Resort Thread Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER Resort

We arrive this coming Saturday. Are buildings 3-4-5 still fully closed?

5 is now mostly open. 3 and 4 and still closed for the time being for snagging work. Once those re-open, I assume the same remedial work will be carried out on 1 and 2 (and possibly 6, depending on how quickly they identified the issues and incorporated the fixes into the original work).

We just got back Friday from a lovely 5 night stay at POFQ. We had a Riverview room in building 2. There were 10 of us in our party, spread across 3 rooms - 2 Riverview rooms and one standard view. Our 2 Riverview rooms were connecting like we requested and the standard was just around the corner. The rooms had TONS of storage and the beds were very comfortable.

We had 2 preschoolers in our party and they LOVED the little playground.

We went to the pool twice and the kids had fun, but the water was HOT. Even though the daytime highs were in the 90s, you could tell they still had the pool heaters on (the water coming out of the jets was hot tub hot) and it wasn't refreshing at all.

We ate dinner in the food court most nights and it was pretty good. I liked that they had much more variety than many resort food courts.

The busses were amazingly efficient. We never waited more than a few minutes for a bus at the resort or at the park to come back. A couple times we were the only people on the bus.

we have garden view for our upcoming trip.. what blds would be good for close to the food court and pool area

It really doesn’t matter much at POFQ because both are literally less than a 2 minute walk from every building except maybe 7 which might be 3 minutes … it’s a fantastic resort you will love it

Just back from staying at POFQ for the 8th time. Like the previous poster said everything is so close. Even building 7 is only a few minutes walk to the bus the boat and the food court. You will love this resort and the room remodels are super nice

Every building has an elevator.

Every accommodation building at French Quarter has two elevators, located centrally within each building's layout.

The only part of Port Orleans that does not have elevators is the two-storey Alligator Bayou lodges over at Port Orleans Riverside.

We stayed in building 4 on all three of our stays at POFQ and loved it. The last time we booked garden view and requested and received the corner room on the first floor near the food court entrance. It was awesome. Just a few steps to the food court and so close to the bus stop.

How many outlets/USB outlets are in the rooms? Trying to decide if I need to bring a charging tower. We have 4 phones, 3 watches, and 4 portable fans to charge

We recently stayed and also found some of the USB ports to be loose.
Well, shoot. Maybe I’ll grab a power strip just to be safe. YC/BC is our normal resort, and we were ok on our trip 2 years ago, but our kids have added some devices since then 😂

Rack Rates are now live for January-October 2026.

As expected, the booking categories for French Quarter are only:
  • Standard Location
  • Preferred Location
  • King Bed
Note: As from 1 January 2026, there will no longer be any way to guarantee a particular view type - such as to avoid a parking lot view for example. That will now be purely down to Requests.
