Was considering driving up our 1st day of vacation to take advantage of this as it doesn't appear as though Disney will be doing anything special for the 40th anniversary of MK on 10/1.

I've copied the info from the U's site below but have a few questions.

Do you need a regular park ticket or just HHN tix? (we're going w/the ROF). DH has current PAP, im not sure if i'm going to be able to upgrade a 7 day tix I have on hand to get one of my own & on it's own it won't cover all the dates i need this trip if i do have to use a day for this.

I'm looking @ a Saturday, 10/1. For those who have attended in the past, is that day typically wildly crowded?

I've highlighted the perc attractions below. Can we realistically expect to work them all in before the gates open?

Can you access the line from inside the park or must you be outside?

How early do PHs line up? trying to guage what timeframe to arrive

Is there anything else 'special' going on for the PHs during that timeframe?

DW and I did this a couple years back with puresvel and his DW.You get in a long line outside the Studios for the RSVP and get herded into the kidzone area.I would say the crowds almost eqauled the normal S&S.What you get to see is two of the tent houses and the Jaws house fairly quickly. This is a plus cuase these get the 60-120min lines very fast. But man did it get hot standing there for 45min with about 200 people and 1 drink stand...

Eh...I'll stick with the main S & S area...the passholder area just didn't impress me enough to change the yearly plans.

i've always hung out @ finnegans to avoid the S&S 'pen' although i know many folks who love meeting up there.

Yes...I remember the year we had dinner there. You should try the holding area this year. You will definitely see some interesting people.

interesting sounds...interesting:laughing:

half the fun of HHN is checking out the crowd:thumbsup2. I understand why there are no guest costumes permitted @ HHN but think it would be a great idea if they'd allow guests to wear them in a few nights on non-HHN days.

So now I am confused. Which is better? Stay and Scream or Passholder Night?

Passholder night is when they have a party just for passholders and their guests which isn't that great...IMO. S & S goes on every night in both locations. The main area is by Finnegan's and the other is by E.T.

I know the difference between the two, just wondering which is better. I'm sure that is subjective, but just wondered what people who have done both thought. I take it your not a fan of the Passholder Night. Perhaps I will have a chance to do both this year.

It seems from the description like you get to go through two of the houses while you are waiting, while in the Stay & Scream area, you just wait.

If you can do both...go for it. I'm not a fan of the passholder parties as I've done it before and it's just not worth it to me...so yes...it's subjective if someone likes it or not.

I'm another one trying to decide if the passholder event is worth it. I have heard from people on here that it isn't but from the OPs info it looks like the passholders get let into a couple of houses even before the S&S people, is this right or am I reading it wrong?

No...you are correct. Passholders will have access to three houses during the party. The Forsaken and The In Between houses will be from 5-6:30pm and Nevermore: The Madness of Poe will be from 5:45 or so to 6:30pm so that would be a plus to a first timers. Again...I've done it and am not a fan but you should try it out to see if you like it. :thumbsup2

still teetering on fence, but will probably go for it, will post my thoughts afterwards.

just trying to figure out how early we should camp out @ the gate on saturday 10/1. An hour?:confused3 I've always been inside the parks for HHN but have glimpsed the lines that form outside when walking past the gate & they are really scary.

Wait... so there are 2 S&S holding pens? is one better than the other?

Yes...there are two holding areas. The one by E.T. is used for the passholder parties the first two weekends and then it's just another area. I don't know if one is better than the other but I prefer the main area by Finnegan's.

What about Thursdays of the 2nd week?

It looks like the Passholders get their own separate entrance, so the queue shouldn't be too bad. Still, not sure myself what time to turn up!

There's no party that night but it will still be crowded.

The queue will stretch across the bridge from the Studios entrance but you're right...there is a separate entrance. But...everyone is checked in before you enter so that will take a lot of time.
