I have read many and searched for threads on the Wilderness Cabin at Ft Wilderness. We are taking advantage of the Free Dining Promo this fall and planning a trip to WDW with my Sister, DBIL and their children (boys 2, 4 and princess due 9/29). :goodvibes

Given the facts that we are both families of 5 and there are an allotted number of rooms for the promo at each site, we are limited to the property/rooms we are able to stay at. :sad2: We researched and researched and have decided to go with the Cabins as they will give us our own space, space to spread out and the kitchen that my sister will need with the baby and little ones. princess:pirate:

We have stayed in our motorhome over the years (both married and as kids) at FW, but please tell me what we can expect with the cabins... we plan to rent golf carts again, as its very handy getting around and to the buses. My sister and I stayed there back during the River Country days with our parents many years ago.:grouphug: I'm excited to be there again with her with our own families!

Here are a couple of things I have wondered while in our beginning planning stages (we are booked btw, just wanting to tweak anything while its early):

How big is the Murphy bed in the living room - Queen, double?

Do you get that "Disney Feel" staying in the cabins?:confused3

Transportation wise - is the bus system the way to go, or taking the boat to MK?

How is the pool(I feel its lacking some Disney Magic compared to other resort pools)? :rolleyes1

We are getting two cabins and have requested them side by side. Should we also request a particular cabin, or "loop"?

What resort specific activities should we look into- a Poolside movie? Or cook out, perhaps?

:wave2:TIA :coffee:

How is the pool(I feel its lacking some Disney Magic compared to other resort pools)? :rolleyes1 The main pool has a slide now

What resort specific activities should we look into- a Poolside movie? Or cook out, perhaps? Chip and Dale campfire singalong and movie!

Sounds like a really fun trip! We did the same thing with my sister's family one year and it was great! The cabins are very well themed and adorable. Have a great trip!
