My DD (11 1/2 years old) has requested a PSP for Christmas. I know nothing about this little gem. Looking it up on Amazon I see that I can buy "game codes" for it for pretty cheap, but how does that work?? Do you hook the PSP up to the computer and download the game? UGH, I am not a techie... and she isn't either. Would this be a total waste of Santa money??

I would say waste however I do not own one.

If she wants it to play movies then a DVD player is better. The reviews have complaints with lag time in playing a movie on the PSP.

Does she play video games? I would check out the gaming selection first.

I can't see this as a "winner" but to each his own.

We got one for my ds10 three years ago. He NEVER uses it. There are not very many games for it and definitely not the ones he wants to play. The movies are limited too. You can download a movie or game, but it doesn't have a lot of space to do so. Big waste of money!

I own one... I never use it. I do, however, use my Nintendo DSi.

Well, to be fair, that depends on how much memory you buy for it.

This is how I am also. I had a PSP but I felt there were not that many games that I liked. The DSi is another story I am constantly playing it. Tons of games to choose from.

Hmmm... this may be the way to go. Are you able to download the games from the computer? Are they expensive?

I like mine :)

Games and movies for it are getting cheap too, since no-one buys them!
