Tell me about the hotel in the Orlando airport

The Hyatt? We liked it - stayed there twice. They have a special service for DCL where they hold and place your luggage . . . Great service. Room was spacious and clean. Price reasonable.

I stayed at the MCO Hyatt the night before my cruise last week (so 5/16). I was very satisfied with the room, checkin, wifi, availability of restaurants in the hotel and out in the airport.

We used DCL transportation to the port and that was easy, too.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

good place to stay when we fly in? Thanks!
Very convenient. I was unimpressed by our room. Basic, gray decor, and a view of the parking lot outside. But the convenience of the baggage being directly picked up by DCL and taken to the ship from the hotel was great. And with a late night arrival, no long distance to cover to sleep the night before the cruise.

Pretty costly, too.

I'm much more partial to the Hampton Inn & Suites Gateway (less than 5 minutes away). But I've pretty much always been a Hilton brand girl over Hyatt whenever possible.

We like it for the convenience factor but it's going up in price. It's noisy if you get a room that overlooks the airport but we found it to be neat at the same time, we're going with it again for our May 2018 cruise

We were quite happy with our experience there.

Got in late, around 9:30 by the time we had our luggage and 9:45 by the time we grabbed fast food dinner to bring to our room.
It was SO MUCH EASIER than even thinking of taking a shuttle to a nearby hotel.

Check-in was fast, our room was spacious. (Upgraded for more space).

Since we had a lot of luggage and two small children we were very grateful for their luggage service of delivering bags from room to ship.
(The night before we were a bit of a scene with 4 suitcases, a stroller and two small boys.)

Their buffet breakfast was EXCELLENT.

We went to Kennedy post cruise and then spent the night at the Hyatt as we had an early flight out the following morning. The hotel pool was quite nice. We missed the movies and waterslides, but it worked for us.

it's going up in price

True. We booked "last minute" (for me) about 3 months out. Daily I would check the hyatt.com website as well as Chases's travel portal and 3rd party websites. Got a decent deal through one of the 3rd party sites (I think Orbitz). I believe booking early and/or being diligent are helpful tips.

Our room overlooked the airport terminal and was much quieter than the subsequent 3 nights on the cruise (neighbors did not understand "quiet voice ). Sound wise of course YMMV.

Stayed at the Hyatt several times. The convenience cannot be beat, especially since we always arrive late the night before our cruise. The baggage pickup is great. If you have a government or military ID they usually offer a discounted room rate.

It's your average full service airport hotel that you'd find at most major airports. Serviceable, have always had friendly and attentive customer service, clean, not fancy, convenient. We'v stayed before/after Disney trips when our flights were in late or out early and we didn't want to pay to stay at WDW and have also done prior to cruises to use transport.

Convenient to stroll out into the airport to eat without needing a car, taxi, or Uber.

We enjoy staying there, have done it once and will be doing it again the night before our December cruise.

But check back often for price changes:

Our night at the Hyatt will be early December 2017.

We originally booked the room at the beginning og January shortly after the room became bookable. 1 night, 2 adults, 2 queen bed room at AAA rate = 316.10 + taxes.

In mid-february I checked prices and they had gone down. Same room was now 262.10 + taxes. We rebooked.

Thanks to this thread today I checked again. Price is now 199.10 + taxes.

So we have saved 117 + tax.

Not sure we will manage even lower, but I will keep checking regularly just in case. I am happy with sub-200 though, we paid 195.10 + tax for a Pure (allergy friendly) room in 2015, which was IIRC about $20 or $30 more than the regular room.

We stayed there twice, once coming in to Orlando and once the night before. It was great. We didn't have to worry about missing a flight or driving to an unknown hotel in the dark. My only comment was that I wished it had a hot tub. That would have been nice to relax in while the kids were in the pool after a day at MK. Otherwise, I'd totally stay there again.

Also our room went down $25 the day before our check in. I phoned and had our reservation changed to that price and got it the next night. Keep checking daily for price changes, especially as your date comes close.

Easy, breezy place to stay. Fun to see the bustle of the airport. We booked a runway view room for the night after our cruise as we will spend the day at KSC and fly out early the next day. Should be fun to watch the planes come and go. And not have to be up at the crack of dawn to fight traffic, return the rental car etc.

We've stayed there in March before the Western Caribbean on the Fantasy. Luggage service was very convenient. Plenty of dining options between Hyatt and the airport terminal itself. We booked through DCL at $200 (taxes included) for a room with a king bed (two queens would have been the same price; we were offered either at check-in and there are only the two of us so took the king), about $40 less than the on-line rate with AAA or senior discount when taxes were added to the quoted rate. We will stay there again next time we sail out of PC.

One of our trips we arrived very late with very tired children. We were able to get through check in and up to our room quickly, and had our checked luggage picked up by Hyatt staff and brought to our room (so none of us had to go down and pick it). Have used it as other poster states to check in the night before a flight. Makes things so much easier and smooth on departure day.

On a side note, we used them as a day room on our return from DCL while waiting for our 6pm flight home. For the money, it was perfect and we were upgraded to a suite. For the 5 hours we were there, it was worth the money and extremely convenient.

Done it twice. Loved the room and convenience and soundproofing. We used AAA both times to get discounts, which made the pricing better.

For us, it depends what time of day we arrive. If our flight arrives late, then it is perfect. Extremely convenient. Get off the plane and go check-in. Hotel is nice. Lots of places to get food etc.

If we arrive early day, we much prefer to head down to port and spend our time waiting for the cruise down there.

good place to stay when we fly in? Thanks!

YES. We stayed there post-cruise and we loved it.

I did not keep my pictures of the room but it was very comfortable and clean. The staff was nice. They had a pretty inside garden and the pool was great! (With a view of the planes taking off). There was a lot of food options inside the hotel and outside (airport food court)...

Very very practical. I have nothing but love for that hotel.
