We are planning to squeeze in a 10 day trip to WDW in October hopefully arriving 27th October. I have checked touring plans and crowd levels are low...is this really the case?

we love October in olrando -the weather is good, the crowds are light and you also get haloween stuff and food and wine at epcot- what is not to like:goodvibes

I'm also interested in this, what dates would you suggest as being the best for October as we are thinking of it for next years trip. :)

As others have said, October is the perfect time to visit WDW!

  • Crowds are low (or as low as they get)
  • Weather is not too hot, not too cold.
  • Food & Wine is running at Epcot
  • MNSSHP events are running at the Magic Kingdom

In addition, if you visit Seaworld and Universal they have plenty of Halloween stuff going on to.

We've visited twice in October and we will be there again this year from the 17th for 8 nights.
Our other visits were in May and June, and October is our first choice now.

October is our favourite - Halloween weekend is very busy - worse if Halloween actually hits a Friday or Saturday. The week after (first week in October ) is New Jersey week and the parks are fairly full too.

Half term week is full of Brits.

The weather is amazing but not too hot to do the theme parks. The parks are very manageable. The food and wine festiival is brilliant (only busy on weekend evenings when the crowds tend to be big at EPCOT) and the halloween parties do take over MK so you may find there are only a couple of nights a week for you to see the parade and fireworks without additional charge.

Thanks everyone, its been years since we have have been at this time of year, but we loved the F&W festival in the past! Touring plans gave OCT crowd levels quite low!

Yep pretty much! I've been to WDW mainly in October & i personally think it's the best time to go :) crowds are low-ish (sometimes half term week can be a bit busy but that won't apply to you) & the weather is perfect! :thumbsup2

Personally i would say mid October onwards, the prices go down for Disney Hotels from the 2nd week. But half term week can a be a little busier, but it's nothing on Easter half term! The weather is perfect, not too hot just about right & the humidity is low.

Brill thanks:):)

October is great we are on or third in a row this year. Yes crowds can vary but we have always managed to do and see everything we want.

Epcot does get busy at weekends with the Food and Wine but if you can avoid Epcot at weekends then its not an issue. We have done sat/sun during food and wine and we have never had a problem. We do try and get out before late afternoon evening.

Weather wise its always been really nice and no rain.

Columbus day is Monday 10th October so it can get a little busier that weekend. If you were thinking of going to Universal Studios and doing Halloween Horror nights then you would definately be best to avoid that week including the end of the week Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.

We did our first October trip 2010 and are going again this October.

I thought the crowds were low - comparable to our end nov/early december trips.

There were alot of brits - a few US guests I spoke asked why there were so many of us about.

Halloween decorations and F & W were bonuses.

Weather was fabulous - 85 degrees and not a drop of rain in the 2 weeks.

We went last 2 weeks of Oct.

We liked October too, went last two weeks last year and are going the same this year.
Crowds are reasonable but I found them very unpredictable, one day it was quiet the next it was bonkers, and then it was quiet again.
having said that wait time were all smallish, with the obvious exceptions , TSM 120 mins , Soaring 100 mins, EE 60 minutes.
All in all i'd recommend it though cause with a wee bit of planning and foresight you can get everything you want to do done.

we have been in september, october and november before.

we prefered september for crowds and october for weather. we are going again in october this year a) because of the weather and b) because of the school holidays.

the weather was still nice in october but we found it a little chilly in november. crowds were very low in september but it was a bit hot for us gingers!
