I just booked a surprise anniversary trip for our 10th anniversary  . We'll be there Dec. 4-8th. I'm thinking that the MVMCP will be going on them since last years dates fell over that time period. What can you guys tell me about it? I'm thinking about getting tickets for it. Is it fun/crowded/would you go on the first night?

Thanks!

I believe the first night this year was Nov 29th or 30th.
We went around the 16th and had a great time. We got to ride everything that we wanted to with little to no wait and had plenty of cookies and hot cocoa. The parade was a lot of fun as was the fireworks. The pics that they took of us we got in about a week and they were really nice.
Go! have a great time

We went for the first time this past season and it was a lot of fun.. We are planning to go again this year. I'm not sure when the dates are released, maybe in June? Someone here will know.

We love this party and have enjoyed it three times now! Our kids love the snow on Main St. and the parade, fireworks and everything is just extra special. The hot cocoa and cookies served are just so-so but an extra touch. Most importantly, you get to do so much as the crowd levels are great. We do more in this one night then we usually get to do on a good day! I would go for it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

We have been to it several times and loved it. This past year we went on the first night and the crowds were not too bad. The weather was unseasonably warm and we had a great time. In the past the weather has been seasonably nice to downright cold. Needed warm coat and gloves. Have fun.

It was a truley magical experience! It's just such a treat to be at WDW before x-mas with all of the holiday decorations and celebrations. We really enjoyed the hot cocoa and cookies....I swiped some extra cookies to take home....brought back in a Ziploc and are in the freezer tightly wrapped and packed for when we need that MVMCP moment! The parade is THE BEST PARADEI have ever seen. I'm not a parade fan and this one just entranced me. Snowing on MS was like nothing I've ever experienced. We didn't get to any of the special shows. We left about 11:30PM and felt we had experienced enough. Go and enjoy!!!! I'll be envious!

Do you mind me asking what is MVMCP. I'm sitting here stumped trying to figure out what it means. I know once you tell me I'm Going to be like "DUH"! :confused3
Thanks

"Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party". It's a hard ticket event. MK closes at about 6 and the party starts at 7 (part goers can get wristbands later in the afternoon that day so be able to stay for the party which ends at midnight).

I went on one of the first ones last year (Tues. Nov. 29th I think). The crowds were light and the rides were all walkons but everything was a walkon for me that week - gotta LOVE that week after Thanksgiving! The parade was cute but I missed the snow on Main Street. Since I live in NY, I get enough of it. The fireworks were wonderful, but I thought that the party didn't live up to the hype for me. I wanted more traditional holiday things like carolers (didn't find any?) and holiday storytellers.

However the Candlelight Processional in EPCOT blew me away. I just LOVED that and I'm not a "churchy" person. I just loved the music and those 6 (yes, count 'em SIX!!) fanfare trumpets made me want to leap up and cheer with tears in my eyes. Alright, I'll admit it, I did weep and cheer but I'm a trumpet player too. Best of all, this is a free event. I imagine that weekends are more difficult to find seats, but if you go early in the week you can get a seat. Best thing, though, that since it's at the stage near the American Adventure, you can hear it clearly if you are in the area.

As for MVMCP, it was cute but not worth the $40ish ticket price for me since the crowds were very low during the regular park hours.

I went on the first Sunday of December. I had a great time. I made sure to catch the shows since I knew that I would be able to do most of the rides during the day since it was somewhat slow when I was there. I loved the parade. I hate that my camera didn't get any pictures that weren't blurred. Would I go again & pay $40?? Yes!

Thank you I Have a hard time figuring out these abbreviations sometimes. The candlelight Processional sounds wonderful. I'll have to put that on my things to do.

It is fantastic! We went for the first time in 2004 and loved it so much we promised we would do it every year!

Both years we went (04 and 05) we went on a Sunday night, had 5pm resv at CP for dinner so when we were done the park had cleared out. We had our free picture taken right away, no lines for pictures, free cocoa and cookies, no lines for rides, everyone had a front row to the special parade, it was the best night!

Another great thing, since the park had such low attendance we had all the CM's with the cameras to ourselves! We went home with so many great pictures. It was nice to not wait in line for anything. We bought special ornaments, shirts and pins.

Worth the additional admission price, thats for sure. We purchased our AP's in Dec 04 and they expired the day before we had tickets to the MVMCP and I did not want to buy the AP's again until we go this March....they let you into the park at 4pm if you have the MVMCP ticket...that was fantastic!

You purchase this in advanced? Can you get your wrist band ahead of time or only on the day of the event? How does that work when you buy months in advance?

We thought it was going to be our "one shot" at WDW, so it was definitely worth it to us. It was the first time I ever saw WISHES and it spoiled me because they did some special stuff they didn't do other nights. The parade was special, too--what can be better than a combination of CHRISTMAS and DISNEY? The snow on Main Street was awesome (we live in Texas, so unlike folks from the north, it was a romantic touch :teeth: ) The crowds were low, but they were low all week. I guess the only "roll of the dice" is the weather. It can get cool or downright cold a night, so be ready.

We did MVMCP December 8th, 2005. It was a blast. Wishes is fantastic, so is the snow and parade. We loved it (and we were self and DH, DD 20, and DD 17)...short lines, lots of characters, a good time was had by all. I'm sure there is a thread around here with lots of MVMCP info from last year. Have fun!

You can buy the tickets early if you want to when they go on sale (probably in May) then when you arrive at MK on your party night and enter the park, you will get wristbands when you go through the turnstyle.
