I am wondering about for those of you who have the FitBit or UP24, could you tell me about it? Good and Bad welcome. I am considering getting one of them but I do not know anyone who has either. I am in the process of losing weight and trying to become healthy and was wondering if this would help me. Also is it pretty accurate? Thank you in advance.

Mods if this is in the wrong place please move.

My DH has one and I've got one ordered. He LOVES his. He has the wrist one. Personally, I would rather have the one you clip on because I don't like wearing things on my wrist.

If you're a geek, you'd really like it. He loves the charts, how it integrates with an app on his phone. He thinks the wrist one is not as accurate as the one you'd clip on. Here's why:

Move your arms too much - even while sitting - it counts as a step.
Don't move your arms enough - such as holding the bar while walking on the treadmill - does not count as a steps.

That's one reason I'm going with the clip on version. That being said, he really likes the wrist version being able to look and see the data in a quick version as if it's a watch.

I have a couple of female friends who have the clip on versions they they like them. They feel like they are very accurate.

My husband and I both have one and we love it. I have the Flex (wrist) and he has the One (clip). I did not want the clip because it would get washed in the washing machine the first day I had it. My husband is really good at taking his off and not washing it. We love how it tracks calories, activity levels and your food. If you climb stairs often I would get the fitbit one or the new Force ( it's a wrist too). They track stair steps. My husband climbs lots of stairs at work so the one he has is great for him. I stay at home, I workout when the kids leave for school, change out of sweaty clothes and do housework so the flex works great for me. I would never remember to put mine back on after changing clothes.

The 2 cons for me with the flex is you have to charge the battery more often and I keep wearing out my bands it fits into. But if I ever had to replace this one I would get another flex or force. If my husband had to replace his he would get another Fitbit One.

Also the two we have tracks our sleep. I don't know much about the Zip(clip) but I don't think it tracks sleep and maybe a few others things. I don't think any of them will be completely accurate but they give you a good idea on your activity. Also I sew a lot and my arms move a lot when I sew and mine has never counted any of my movement while sewing. I watched it one day to see.

Thank you for the replies so far. I have a pedometer now and it clips and I don't hate it but don't love it. For those of you who mention the One do you use it for the Sleep tracker as well. I am really interested in that part of them.

Yes we use ours to track our sleep. My husband has the One and I have the Flex and both track sleep and we use it. It's very interesting it shows whether you were awake or restless and counts how many times and for how long. And it gives you a total count for your sleep.

We both have fitbit ones and love them. I had read somewhere that the wrist ones don't count steps if you are walking and holding a kid, pushing a stroller or shopping cart, or using that hand to walk a dog....all things that I do often. Also, I love that the one counts stairs climbed as well and has the digital readout so I can look at it anytime & see my data. It certainly motivates me to move more. If am close to my 10,000 steps or 10 flights of stairs I try hard to get them in for the day. I mostly put it on my waistband..(I am a little paranoid about attaching a bluetooth device to my bra)

So far it has been worth it...I bought it at Target with my redcard so saved a little and the 2yr protection plan was only $7. good luck!

My husband and I both have the Flex and love it. I originally had the zip and I liked it but when my husband got his Flex and I saw all the cool stuff it could do I was jealous.

I didn't get the One because I figured my kids would always be taking it from me so I wanted something on my wrist so they couldn't easily take it off me.

I have used it for sleep tracking but I am not a big fan of wearing it at night. I do like knowing my progress thoughout the day and am constantly checking my app. I use it in conjunction with My Fitness Pal and they sync flawlessly.

I am excited to wear it at the parks next month to see how many steps we take while there.

I love my fit bit! I clip it to my bra everyday and I do feel it is accurate. I also really like the app for it, where I can input what I eat, water intake, etc. it syncs with the fit bit and imports my steps and distance. It's so great to have all the into in one place. I don't have the one with sleep tracking--didn't feel I needed it to do that.
Deidre :)

I love my fitbit. I was what I thought of as a fairly active person before getting the fitbit. I run regularly - training for a 1/2 marathon. The fitbit made me realize the only time I was active was when I was running. On days I didn't run, I wouldn't break 5k steps in a day. Now I have a personal goal to hit my 10k before I leave work each day. My running after work end up being bonus steps. I'm currently typing this while pacing my office. Yes, I look crazy ... But I look crazy in a size small. I worked hard to lose 45 after having a child in my mid-30's. The fitbit definitely helps me stay focused on activity to maintain my weight loss.

I'm interested in one of these as well. I have a stupid question though...Are they waterproof? I do some swimming and water aerobics and would like to be able to incorporate that into my daily count...

Thanks!

They say the flex is water resistant. I wore mine in the pool with my son during his swim lesson the other day. It's working fine. I think it can go 10 meters. It isn't designed to log swimming itself, but you can log it manually in the app.
