Tell me a little about the Grandstand at SSR

That's the area we requested for upcoming stay in a 1 bedroom this Thanksgiving. Is that area OK? We normally have a rental car with us to get to the parks, but don't mind walking around the resort. Hoping the area will be quiet and if we get lucky might be able to watch some golfers from our room. Any tips or comments on the Grandstand area at SSR?

Grandstand is our favorite area of SSR. We always request this area and have been accommodated each time. We like the quiet pool in that area and the short walk to the main area when we need to go there. In the past it was the 1st bus stop for all except DD.
Nice views of the golf course for a lot of the rooms!
We will be there the second week in November..1 bedroom...looking forward to it!

They have the best bus stop for SSR as they are the first pickup. You should probably always get a seat.

I've stayed in the Grandstand area twice, I requested the area for both of my stays.
It is close to the quiet pool, a short walk to the main building and the boat launch and the bus stop is right there.

This is our favourite area - we were in one of the far buildings - 9500-9700 section or something close, don't have my map handy - anyhow, it looks far, but it's really not - and hubby was over the moon with his golf view there (we were on the third floor) - very quiet area, and you just walk across the parking lot to the bus stop, or a few steps past it to the awesome pool there, and if you keep going past the pool and around the corner, there is the boat to DTD, and a few steps past that, you are at the main lobby and food court/gift shop. So really a great location that is closer than it looks to everything. Enjoy!!!

Our favorite area too! I hope it doesn't get too popular. We never rent a car at Disney so we really love the fact that it's the first bus stop, coming and going.
