Big, did you add tax to WDW’s price for the AP?

On WDW’s website, when I did a checkout of just the pass at $1,449.00, I have a total of $1,543.19, as 94 dollars in tax was added.

When I added the $99 extra for water fun, got a total of $1,648.62, with 100.60 dollars in tax.

So WDW for both, one just pass and one with water or photo pass add - $4,785.94

At SOG for both just pass and photo pass add - $3900

No tax on the SOG’s price.

So I’m going to buy my 2 AP at Shades. Will save me almost $885 dollars ( it’s 884 and change) over buying directly from Disney, when we are buying one regular and one with the photo pass.

I did. Shades was ~ $50 more pre-tax.
$1549 at WDW, $1596 at Shades.

Right, but you are still saving tax as that $1549 at WDW will give you at total of $1648.62. Versus paying $1596 at Shades. I bought at SOG, as 50 dollars savings will buy me at least a meal. But that’s up to you.

Right, and I will go that route when I buy them, I’m just wondering why the difference.

I don’t know, Big. Maybe Disney doesn’t want them to give such a savings on APs, when you buy from the military, but I do know that different ITT offices sometimes have different ticket prices. So I compare.

But I couldn’t find any other, including my own, that sells that out of state only available pass, but SOG. And for me, it seemed to be even a bigger savings, as I saved the tax on my other not adding any extra pass for my daughter.

And I had a typo, as checked my receipt, as I paid 3090 for my two passes, not 3900. And with math I did above, I would have paid Disney 4700 for both of our passes. So a bigger savings I found by buying both at SOG. I got even luckier, as had a very quick, and very knowledgeable CM that, turned our vouchers into our APs the other day.

If anyone is planning a stay this week at Shades and didn't get the email:

"On Wednesday, April 10, 2024, a temporary gas outage will occur between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. This outage may affect the hot water in your rooms and our food & beverage services, including hot food prepared by gas equipment.

Our team is working to minimize disruption until the gas service is restored. Please plan accordingly for showering during this time.

Evergreens Sports Bar will serve a limited menu (Pizza, Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Salads, Select Appetizers, and Sandwiches). Express Café will be open one hour later (1400) and will serve the full menu.
Java Café will be open for regular hours and serve the daily menu.

Yes, last month. Easy and we activated them outside of Epcot later that day.

I got that email today too. That is what it seems like, you get 10% off breakfast if you add it. I think we're going to do it.

We don’t eat breakfast, especially at the same restaurant, to justify it for us.

That’s weird with the amount of emails I’ve gotten from them without a time frame for it. Although they’re awful at email. The only email I’ve gotten about it with a timeframe was Feb 1-29 2024, I got that email march 7th. All the other emails? They just mentioned the dinning plan but no mention of any kind of dates.

"In a recent (December 2023) meeting, the board raised a potential of a project for a pedestrian bridge for the Shades of Green Resort, that one of the board’s hired lawyers says was blocked by Disney. That bridge would make it easier for guests at Shades of Green to access other areas of Disney property as mentioned above.

The board has placed this issue on their short term list to evaluate the district constructing a bridge or providing some way for guests of Shades of Green to cross the road."

Just booked a week in January during our favorite week of the year to visit: the week leading up to MLK weekend.

Some people asked about the benefit of the extra evening hours for deluxe. Our trip last summer, we found the extra evening hours to be fantastic:

For MK, the park seemed almost empty those last couple hours of the night which was awesome. For Epcot, we got an extra shot at a Guardians VQ which was a great perk as that ride is amazing and it was brand new.

We just booked 5 nights in April after our 20 nights cruising on Royal (b2b2b). Going to do 4 days in the parks and do 5 nights at SOG. We're also booked this Nov for 2 nights after our 14 night Royal cruises (b2b). No parks in Nov., just DS for dinner one night. Parking sure has gone up a lot. Our first trip in 1998, I'm pretty sure parking was included. We've stayed at SOG about 9 or 10 times. To us it's just a nice relaxing tropical resort. It's just DH and I this trip. Last trip in 2022 our oldest DS and DDIL flew down and met us and were in the room next door to us. We do miss the walkway to the Poly although I have a knee injury from a few years ago that limits me some although I did a lot in 2022.
