That sounds great Alan. I will keep ya'll in my prayers. Next time we come to Talladega for the races and stay with family in Oxford we will have to come up and get us a B. F. Dawg.
Oh definitely!! I would say this place is "race fan friendly." For our decor, we intend to have different themed tables....all of which would evoke an appetite for hot dogs. For instance, there will be a Coney Island table, a NY sidewalk cart table, a Six Flags table, an Atlanta Braves table, a circus-themed table, a Talladega Superspeedway table, etc. All of these places, (at least in my mind,) remind me of how much I LOVE hot dogs!
Good luck with the new business!
Thanks, Lessa! Look forward to meeting you in about 4 weeks.
How exciting for you!

I will most certainly be sending good thoughts for your success. What a perfect venture for a family who loves food! Will your son with the gourmet tastes be getting into the action too? Maybe he can create his own dog with some fancy toppings!

It really sounds exciting. Maybe you can start a thread on the community board to keep us posted on how the venture is coming along-- I've always wondered what it would be like to start your own business and would love to follow along with you! Good luck!!
Hahaha...thanks Christine. Yes, DS is excited about this venture...although he and DW do not eat hot dogs! (How weird is that? He's a 12-yr-old boy whose favorite food is sea scallops, but will not eat a hot dog!)
I will scan our proposed menu and post it.
I've been a long time lurker and loved your last trip report as I am loving your current pre trip report. Best of luck in your new venture and I'm so excited because we may actually get to see you and your family at the parks as we just booked our trip for 5/9-5/18/09 at All Stars Movies. It makes the trip even more fun when you get to see the real life dissers that you've read the trip reports for.
Hey! So glad you came out of lurkdom!

Do you know about the DISers MAMMOTH MAY MEET? There are a bunch of us on these boards that are meeting up on Sunday, May 17th at 3pm in the France Pavilion at Epcot! We've even got t-shirts and everything! We are expected about 40 - 50 people. If you happen to be available, come by and join us.
YUM YUM i love me some dogs. now us North Carolinians like our dogs w/ mustard, slaw, chili & onions. consider that some easy research for your knew "dogs around the country" menu. Oh, and i was at the NCAA BBALL tournament a couple weeks ago when they were playing in Greensboro, NC (just down the road from me) rooting on our Tarheels (go champs) and saw a new dog on one of the stand menus that was just right for this area. it was called a BBQ Dog! it was a hot dog, mustard, and chopped bbq pork all on a bun. my husband wanted to try but i wasnt quite ready to stomach it.
Yep, you Carolinians know your hot dogs! I was recently on a business trip Chapel Hill (go champs) and stopped in Greenville, SC around lunchtime. I stumbled upon a place called "Skin's Hot Dogs." GREAT hot dog!...and just like you said, mustard, onions, and chili. Our signature hot dog will be called, "The Classic" which comes with mustard, onions, and chili. We will also have two other basic offerings: "The Ballpark" with ketcup, mustard, and sweet relish, and "The Deep South" with mustard, onions and either coleslaw OR sauerkraut.
On the BBQ dog, we are calling it "The Memphis." Again, I will post a picture of the menu so you'll get a better idea.
Congratulations on your new endeavor! My favorite meal is hot dogs! Love em! Love em with mustard and onions, love em with mustard, onions and chili, love em just plain, love with just mustard. I guess I just love em any old way! Except with kraut - can't go that way!

They are also DD favorit meal but she eats hers with Miracle whip - not mayo, Miracle whip.

So does DH. What is up with that! When you order them with Miracle whip (or mayo) in a restaurant, you should see the looks people give you!

Hope you are a huge success.
I must admit - I have ALWAYS been a hot dog junkie! This is terrible, but I couldn't wait until DS got old enough to play organized sports.....so that we could go watch his games and visit the concession stand for a hot dog!
Hmmm...Miracle Whip...interesting!
Thanks for the great wishes! It is a huge risk, but we just feel like the time is right to do this....almost as if we as supposed to do this.
