Team Renfroe - Pre-Trip Report for May 15-22, 2009 **Final Chapter**

:scared1: Thong.....ahhhh not I....I am SO not into butt floss!!!:rolleyes1
Now a t-shirt.... lol just think, 10 years from now no one will ever remember if I was really there or not!! Heck if everyone does a trip report and posts a LOT of picture I will feel like I was there lol.
Just kidding! I am very disappointed but very thrilled that Travis will get to see WDW for the first time and be with his family!! We are definately blessed!!
I'll look forward to yours, Rosies, Cammies and all the other trippies!!!

When we start our trip reports, you'll have to email us a picture of you and we'll photoshop you into the group!!! :rotfl:

Off to the Annual Awards Dinner for work !!My ladies at the house are primping and priming for a FUN night !! One of them won "Consumer of the Year " and she is sooooooo excited !!!!!
Alan I will check on what concert it was , it wasthe weekend of the 23rd someones first day and my last but I think it is on Friday too!!

Alan I found it on my thread (ptr) The band is 5th Dimension !!!!and it is the Friday I am going to meet another Disser !!!

Oh, I would love to the 5th Dimension, but unfortunately we leave on that Friday.

Exactly! Another trip, another time! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to read all about the meet!!!

You'll just have to read our trip reports - and get excited about your trip in December!

By the way, Brooke, I saw some of your pictures on the food porn thread and I recognized Henry's little fingers in one of them! I was like, "that's Henry's fingers!"

I just found your PTR and noticed that we will be at WDDW the same week!! I also noticed that you are from Jacksonville, AL--I've actually been there several times. My sister-in-law used to live there and actually took some classes at JSU in order to finish up her teaching degree (had previously gone to U. of Alabama). My dh and his family are from Jasper--we visit his parents quite often. Anywho, are you a BAMA fan?! We are huge BAMA fans!! Roll tide!!

Wow, what a small world! First of all, welcome to our PTR! Secondly, it's cool that you know about JSU. It is really a fantastic university, and the number one teaching degree school in the state.

Jasper is about 2.5 hours from where we are. Being that I work at Jacksonville State University, and that we are Division 1A in all sports except football (for now,) I would have to say I'm a JSU GAMECOCK fan!! GO GAMECOCKS!!

Alan,

At Allearsnet.com they have posted a PDF file with the full (official) schedule and info about Epcot's Flower & Garden Festival.

Bad news. I'm afraid that José Feliciano is posted for May 15th-17th. On the other hand, they have Chubby Checker for May 1-3!! THAT is someone I would like to see...

Best wishes to you and yours,

Luis

Hi Luis! :wave2: Yep, I saw that too. Chubby Checker would be a great show. It's so funny.....I was talking to a friend of mine today who is in Philadelphia this week at a conference. He said that they went to see Chubby Checker last night....and said he was TERRIFIC! I'm more of a fan of the rockers than the crooners!

Hope all is well with you and your family!

Hi Alan !! Just checking after another long day !!! I am off tomorrow but that is my shopping day and I do have to pass meds at one of the housesGot a pleading call to fill in!!! I am looking forward to a semi vaction next month !! I am taking the days off the week before Easter to watch Kyle and then working a couple of evenings! Bt it will be nice to have a little break!!

Sounds like fun! I was off work all last week for spring break, (one of the advantages of working at a University!) Anyway, our kids had their spring break as well.....so we did several fun things; we went bowling one day, we went to see "Race to Witch Mountain" one day, etc.

Well....I guess it was inevitable. We have finally given in to the pressure of getting our DS his first cell phone. We live in a small town where we only have an elementary school and high school (no middle school.) SO....DS will be graduating from 6th grade and attending high school next year.

Frankly, DW and I both desperately needed cell phone upgrades as well. SO....we all got new LG Vu's!

lg-vu.png

Of course, we went ahead and got the unlimited texting plan as well. DS is absolutely in heaven!! We are all enjoying the new phones, and they will really come in handy this year at WDW.

This is the exact phone I got this past Saturday! I was using an old Motorola flip phone ( last upgrade lasted two weeks and it got "washed" in the washing machine - never worked again!). My granddaughter dropped my flip phone last week while it was open (she was watching herself on a video :lmao: and the whole flip part just broke off :rotfl2: I love the phone but can't get abc on the tv!:confused3
DH loves his because there isn't any news program he can't get!

That is so funny about Henry's fingers. :goodvibes I bet it was the Studio Catering Company one, where he was going for those grapes!!!

So jealous! You all have much better phones than me! :(

But unlimited texting is a MUST! So worth it! And yes those phones will definitely come in handy at WDW! Lauren and I were walking and texting and taking pictures constantly!;)

I want one of those! My DD is in 6th grade and she has a samsung behold. I have a old slider phone :( I hope you have fun in WDW.

Great phone but I haven't figured out yet how to answer a phone call! :lmao: Every time the phone rings, I miss the call and have to call them back! Can't count how many missed calls I have. I am either the dumbest person in the worl or the most techno-challenged (and hate to read instruction manuals)! Guess I can take it to my four year old granddaughter (that can figure out anything mechanical) and have her show me how to answer it! Oh, wait, she's the one that broke my other phone! Broke the flip part completely off!:rotfl2: Guess i will just have to keep calling people back! maybe i should put that on my message: "Sorry, can't figure out how to answer you're call. Don't leave a message cuz I probably don't know how to get those either! I will return your call because I do know how to phone people!" :rotfl:
Love technology!!!!:woohoo:

awesome new phones! I love LG phones! I am dreading the day my princess asks for one..which I have a feeling is going to be sooner than later!!

Hey everyone! Sorry for the long pause in posting on my own thread! Life has been really busy lately - but that's okay....it only makes the time pass by quicker...and we all know what that means! From right now, we are at 38 DAYS!!   (That's right, little banana boy...shake what yo mama gave ya!)

So far, we are LOVING the LG Vu. We did take someone's advice, (someone who posts here on this board,) and purchased the insurance for DS's phone. I am very cautious with mine, but him...not so much.

TV service is not available at all on our phone. The phone has the feature, but no service in this area. (Welcome to Alabama.)

I can't wait to read the TRs!

Yep, I'm sure that's the one. It's neat to see that wonderful food....and the fingers of a small one reaching in!

So jealous! You all have much better phones than me! :(

We were actually going to wait until the end of May to get the phones, but we figured they would be SO handy at WDW, we should go ahead and get them. DS has now discovered the texting world.....(and so has dad!)

Just giving this a friendly bump!!! Tomorow we can all say NEXT MONTH!!!

Thanks for keeping the dream alive, Rosie! Spring is moving by pretty fast for us....but not fast enough!

I want one of those! My DD is in 6th grade and she has a samsung behold. I have a old slider phone :( I hope you have fun in WDW.

My in-laws have slider phones and do not like them. When we first started looking at phones, I wasn't too particular. However, when DW started showing me all the features of the Vu, and the fact that it is only $50 sold me.

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: Yep, that sounds about right! I think it's cool that my 12-yr-old is the one dragging me into this century.

awesome new phones! I love LG phones! I am dreading the day my princess asks for one..which I have a feeling is going to be sooner than later!!

Oh, it's coming. Trust me....it's coming. It can be a tough pill to swallow. Hang on.....love them with all you've got....and take lots of pictures!

I hear you with the phones !! DGDs are texting constantly which is why we have unlimited !! For $30 a month for all 5 of us it is a great deal !!:thumbsup2 I don't use it at all!!Texting is not for me!!
Yes Alan we are getting sooo close ! :cool1:Remember how we waited and waited fo our ADR window to open:lmao: Seems like we have been planning this trip for ever !!I am so excited to be meeting so many Dissers on the 17th even though I have not met any of you before I feel like you are all old friends !!:thumbsup2 That's what the Dis is all about:cloud9:

Congrats on the LG. I still have my older version, but I love that brand! They last and work very well.

I still have the older texting plan - 200/ mo. Maybe unlimted someday :rolleyes1

Oh yay! I just finished reading your last tr and I am happy to be able to read the next one too!!! Good Luck!!

Halleluah! I can now report that I have learned how to answer my new phone!:thumbsup2 Guess how you do it? You press the little phone shaped button on the front! :lmao: I was trying to unlock it then answer it but you only have to unlock it if you want to make a call! I must also confess that I did not really learn this - my daughter had to show me because she was tired of me not answering the phone!:lmao:

Going to cancel the tv service after the free months because all I get is little kids shows (don't have any of those) and news (only bad so I don't watch :rotfl2:). Other than that, I love it. Beats the heck out of my old flip phone that had the top flip part broken off by a darling four year old in MS!princess:

Sorry didn't mean to hijack this but I was just so excited that I actually answered a call today I had to report on it!

Those of us going in May, we are down to a little over a month! See many of you then!

Hi Alan, been a lurker for a while but just wanted to comment on the Disney Visa Card. My husband and I went to WDW last yr (08) and signed up to get ours @ Downtown Disney. It's a great idea and glad to see you got yours as well. We just went to WDW for our 09 trip (march 7-14), did the Buy4Get3 Free Deal, had our $200 gift card from Disney plus another $25 gift card that we had earned in Disney Dollars from our Visa. After the gift cards were spent we only had a total of $238 on our key to the world cards for our seven day trip. we didnt even have the meal plan. amazing i know! we did take our own food for breakfasts though (so that cut out one meal a day). and got the refill cup from POP. Be sure and take advantage of the Epcot Character Spot Meet & Greet too. be careful though b/c we didnt see that to get the free photo w/ a character we had to be there before 4pm and almost missed it.

I know this is a little off topic but I was wondering about the buy 4 get 3 free deal, how does that work? And how did you find out about it? And does it happen every year or just this one? I've seen several disers mention it but no one elaborated on it. Thanks in advance for your help.
