Team Renfroe - Pre-Trip Report for May 15-22, 2009 **Final Chapter**

Hi Alan !! I hve to make Turkey soup with the leftover leftovers!!:rotfl2: While I was at work the restof the family decorated !! DSIL had the outside and it is aglowin' and the girls did inside. The Tree is up and I'm sure DSIL put it together as it is straight and not leaning over !!:lmao: I love seeing the house decorated for Christmas !! I will have a better look at the inside in the morning !!

DW got our Christmas tree up yesterday and we are all planning to decorate it tonight!! We have lots of family ornaments that bring back great memories from the past, and we always make a big deal out of putting them on the tree.

I think we finally threw out the last of the leftovers this afternoon!! I had turkey for three straight days!!

Hi Alan,

As always, wonderful family photos. Also, Do you know if Disney accepts ADRs for a certain Alabama household?:goodvibes

Best Wishes,

Luis

Hello Luis!! I hope all is well with you and your family. We got our ADR for Chef Mickey's, but Disney would not take any of our other ADRs. They said to call back on Dec. 22nd or after to make the rest of our reservations. Oh well....that just gives us more time to make up our minds!! popcorn::

Hey Alan - Loved the turkey day food porn!:woohoo:

Cannot even believe I'm missing out on a DIS meet in May!:headache: Man, I may need to rethink my policy of always going during the holidays!

Alan! Great PTR :) Although I admit, I started at the beginning and then skipped to about page 20 (I have homework!):rolleyes1

I am super excited for you guys! I hope I don't regret switching resorts now!

Hope you guys had a wonderful holiday and your kids are so adorable :)

Subbing now;)

Yes Alan I always used to make decorating the Tree a family thing, and Judy does with the kids !! To wait for me to be around would make it hard as I have a crazy schedule !!If I take a day off I end up working 12 hour days to catch up !!:rotfl2: The State is very strict with a lot of things and that always means LOTS of paperwork !!:scared1: I spent 10 hours yesterday just getting all my financials in order for the End of the month!!:scared1: Everything was spot on though so it was worth it !!

Alan,

My apologies, I'm afraid that I did not express myself correctly. What I wanted to know wasn't if Disney had accepted your ADRs. I wanted to know if Disney would accept an ADR (mine) for EATING at a certain Alabama household (yours). Your Thanksgiving Dinner photos certainly rival any done for the Disney restaurants :)

Again sorry about the confusion :confused3

Regards,

Luis

Hey Cammie! :wave2: My family was making fun of me for taking pictures of my Thanksgiving plate....but hey, the DISboards have conditioned me to take photos of ANY great meal!!

Yeah, this DIS-meet should be fun! We haven't organized anything yet, but I am hoping to meet Ellen, Rosie, and Kara. I'm thinking that by the time May gets here, you and Lauren will be ready for another trip!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Kara! I don't blame you for skipping ahead.....it is hard to keep up studying and DISboarding (is that a word?) at the same time! At least you have your priorities in order, right?

Oh, I think you will LOVE being at CSR. We certainly loved it last year. If you get a chance, scroll through our trip report from this past May. It has got a ton of pictures from CSR.

Thanks for the compliments on the kids! We certainly think they are special!! You're son is a real cutie too!

Hi Rosie! I know exactly what you mean. Working at a University, I am a state employee also....so I feel your pain. The good news is that we were off this past Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday....so I took Annual Leave days on Monday and Tuesday, so that I could enjoy the entire week off! Now it is back to work for me!

OH!!! That's hilarious!!! You don't need a Disney ADR to come and dine with the Renfroe's, my friend! Just a plane ticket to Alabama!! :rotfl2: Mi casa su casa!!

Hope all is well with you and your family.

Alan

I will definitely have to take some time out and read your TR :)

I remember them telling us in high school about senioritis...ya know, the "condition" you get during your senior year when you are just so unmotivated to do anything? Well that's me now, but I am only through my 2nd semester! Counting down the darn days until the semester is over...only 2 more weeks!

Thanks for that about Rylan...he sure is something else. I hope we are all able to get together, I love to show him off :rotfl: but really though...he is so hilarious sometimes. I truly love this age, minus the temper tantrums!

 No doubt that will change in the coming years, right? Anyway, I hope you enjoy your time with Kyle this weekend. Tell the girls we will all be "cheering" for them!!

Oh, let me tell you...Senioritis is a REAL thing! And the bad part is that you pretty much have it for most of your college life as well! You just HANG IN THERE! You may end up being a nurse AND an event planner!! At the same time!

Don't know if I told you or not, but I work at a University. My primary responsibility is planning special events! :thumbsup2 :cool1:

I'll bet you love to show Rylan off! He is adorable! You are SO right about his age.....it is a special time. I'm sure everyone tells you this, but really enjoy this time in his life. Take lots of pictures! You'll be glad you did when he's an 11-yr-old going on 16 like my DS!! I go back and look at pictures of him when he was 2 and 3, and it makes me sad that THAT little boy doesn't exist anymore. That being said, he is a GREAT kid and I couldn't ask for more!

As many of you know, I work at a University for my day job, and I am a musician on the side. I went back to school a few years ago and got my Masters Degree, which I finished last year. Anyway, as of today, I was asked to be an Adjunct professor for a Learning Skills class!! I am very excited and nervous!! It is scary to think that I will be teaching ANYBODY ANYTHING! :scared1:

Anyway, keep your fingers crossed for me. I will be teaching a class on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30pm til 6pm. It doesn't pay much at ALL, but it will be a little extra money for our family. I hope I can pull this off! :rolleyes1

Congratulations!!

I have always thought that teaching is a most wonderful profession. In a former job I was an instructor for an IBM Business Partner and it was one of the highlights of my professional life. When you see that "Aha!" moment in any of your students it really makes your day. I think you will love your teaching.

Regards,

Luis

P.S. The nerves calm down after a while :)

Alan, I have a feeling you will succeed at anything you attempt my friend!:thumbsup2

Yay congrats Alan!!

Thanks, Kara! I got all of the information today, and I am feeling a little better about the subject matter. I have a LOT of work to do before teaching my first class in January! (I'm a little freaked, but I'll be okay!)

Congratulations!!

Thanks for your inspiration, Luis. I know what you mean about those "aha" moments! I am an advisor of a student alumni group called "Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow" ....a group that I actually started about 3 years ago. I hope to build on that experience and hopefully I can be a successful educator for these students.

I think (and hope) you are right - I think I will LOVE teaching!! At the VERY least, I'm going to give it a try!

Alan, I have a feeling you will succeed at anything you attempt my friend!:thumbsup2

Thanks, Kathy! I appreciate your confidence-booster!! I'll let you know how it goes. I hope I don't let you down!

One more Congrats Alan! I think both the students and the University are LUCKY to have you!! The extra bucks are great for Disney Vacations too !!

Awww....thanks Rosie! I am excited, but a little nervous. This is new territory for me...but I'm adventurous! I'll be ready before that first class.

You are right! That extra $$ will come in handy for Disney!!

Alan

I was too tired last night to check all my threads ! So Igot an early start this morning!! Still no May hours !!!!

haha so i just skimmed through this.... and read think page 12 with you calculating the food for the dinning plans! hahahaha i just got a headache:rotfl:

My guess is still Dec. 22nd for them to post May hours. If they DO open up ADRs on Dec. 22nd for April & May reservations, can you imagine how many phone calls they will receive on that day?

haha so i just skimmed through this.... and read think page 12 with you calculating the food for the dinning plans! hahahaha i just got a headache:rotfl:

:rotfl2: :rotfl: I know, right? I think that deep down I was biased in my calculations....because I just really wanted to justify the Deluxe Dining Plan to MYSELF!! (Yes, I am completely aware that I am an obsessive planner!)

I wonder...the email I got said they think the ADR for May will be more like mid to late Jan. now. They haven't even started training most of the CM's. Ugh! :surfweb: Thanks for all the help! We love reading your meal ideas ~Help those of us newbies who have never been decide where to eat. I have decided to many choices to little time. We are going to have to go back again, already!

Congrats Alan, I know you'll do fine! When I had to teach my first class last year as a Grad Assistant, I was scared! But it starts to flow after a while, just make sure you lay down the rules in the beginning. Like I'm not very loud, I speak quite softly and I told my kids straight off the bat, please be respectful, keep the background noise down to a minimum for me and I never had any trouble! If I can do, you can do it! Good luck!! :thumbsup2
