Happy Birthday JenB!
Congratulations on your fastie mile, too! That's a long time to run at that pace!
Corinna - I looked at the National Weight Control Registry site and was thinking that would have been great to know about when I went from 263 lbs to 199 lbs back to 263 lbs. Congrats on finding your focus, I know I was feeling lost without one earlier this month.
Oh, I've been there - not to 263, but losing and regaining. I think that's where my anxiousness about it is coming from this time. It's probably always going to be a little mentally rough after completing a major, major event. Part of the recovery, I suppose.
Corinna...I got the info from the registry awhile back. You need to get some documentation of your previous and current weight, like doctor's records. It's a neat program and has had some interesting info come out of it.
Anyone that runs with music have a sweet spot on their playlist that they repeat over and over for an energy boost in the rough patches? My thought for a Monday mixer topic would be guilty-pleasure running music. I'm kinda drawn to dance music when I run, stuff I wouldn't normally listen to.
Mel, this is good to know - I may have some challenges getting my documented weight since - ugh - my doctor closed his practice and I'm having trouble getting my records.
I did go to another clinic for a while after my second son was born - I hope they still have my records. My best running music is mostly really embarrassing. My current favorite isn't SO bad: The Middle by Jimmy Eat World. I also have a techno version of Goodbye Mr. Bluesky that is doing it for me at the moment. The most pathetic, but still foolproof when I'm dragging: The Hamster Dance.

So, call me lazy. I didn't run this weekend. We got 5 inches of snow, followed by a few hours of sleet. (I'm beginning to feel like I've seen an awful lot of sleet this year. Do I look like I need sleet?) It was sleeting Saturday morning, so our group run was canceled. I did NOT get up and run on the TM. This morning, DH and I went to the park and walked for an hour in the snow. I'm pretty sure that has to count as 2 hours regular walking. Then we shoveled snow. So activity-wise, I got the workout in. Unfortunately for Myrtle Beach, I'm not getting the miles in. I have a half-marathon in 2 weeks and I've run 15 miles since Goofy. Call it an extended taper, I guess.![]()
Sleet is the worst. Nobody needs sleet, and yet there has been an abundance this year. It is my most reviled weather. I am having the same trouble getting the miles in before the Princess Half - it's just not going well in terms of miles. All the mileage from training for WDW has to count for something on race day, though, right?
As of this afternoon, I am now done with week 2 of 3 running "special effects" for Erydice. I am definitely coming down with the thing that had my DS home from school all last week. I've had a sore throat for 3 days. I think the cough is starting up. I keep trying to beat the virus back with things like longish runs on the treadmill (I managed 7 yesterday before I couldn't take any more - stomach-wise, anyhow. Blah) and extra sleep. It seems like my brain is a little affected by this - I get concerned when I start to space things out. Too much like the effects of the concussion of 2008.
Still trying to pin down which Valentine's Day race to do. The choice is between a big, cumbersome event with a great tech shirt and no official timing and a smaller event with timing, but a less cool-looking cotton shirt. Currently, popular opinion seems to be favoring the race with the better shirt. I will keep you posted.
Time for a hot toddy, maybe.
The official meeting site for the annual meeting is someone’s personal “Party Barn” and the unofficial get-together site during the year is an Irish pub. (Seriously, I mean it.)
)
From Ohana? Now we'll have a whole list of places for future Ohana meets!

I remember being 19, and having no idea of what it would take to support myself. Heck, when I was 19, I wouldn't schedule a class during "Days of Our Lives"...
Priorities, you know!
Sorry I missed the big day, I hope it was filled with magic!
to all the other cousins, let's have a great day and welcome to February!

when I am down. Of course I'll get through this (and love it one day) and who knows what the fickle 19 yo will decide in another day or week

It's great to meet you!
Love your plan to register for the National Weight Control Registry. How's Eurydice coming?
