How are points taken?

I'm a little worried because I'm not sure how this works... I have an August Use Year. I have booked an October 2026 trip using AUG 26 points.

I still have 2025 UY points that have not been used and must be banked by 3/31/26. When I bank the unused 2025 points, will they be automatically applied to the October 2026 trip?

If its not automatic, if I bank 2025 and then modify my October reservation, will it update to using the banked points first?

I'm wondering / worried about what will happen to these banked points in case I don't book another 2026 UY trip.

All need to do after you do bank is modify the reservation (same everything…it will do the banked points then reset your totals at confirmation).

It's not automatic. But if you modify your October 2026 trip without changing anything, the system will take those banked points ahead of any 2026 UY points. If you have transferred points that were used for that reservation, they may or may not be used before those banked points. It depends on when those transferred points expire vs when the banked points will expire.
