And we think the view reminds us of TX! ('cept our subdivision's houses were closer together!)

Yep, I have to agree that view is definately one I would see in TX. And I agree with TE the houses in our subdivision were most definately closer.

Great job on the room Dawn! It looks awesome! :thumbsup2

I wonder what kind of credit you need for that...:confused3 I'm sure its not our scores!!!!:rotfl2:
Probably worth checking out---I did a pretty extensive internet search and couldn't find one cheaper.
They approved us for the original loan but we didn't get back the paperwork in time....but they said we could refinance at same rate (it's about 1.5% below our current rate so it would makes about a $1000 difference over the loan).
you can apply online just to see too.

(see........I told you all that CE and I missed our callings as accountants! I LOVE calculating rates and such and figuring out how to save $$---my daughter LOVES finding ways to spend it so I'm not sure what her calling is yet aside from marrying rich! . )

Ok--now I've went and done the Facebook thing----now what do I do with it??? And I have no friends.:sad1:

Dude I was saving my receipts of stuff since Oct and I can't believe how much money I spend! :scared1: I don't even know how I spent that much. Needless to say it was a big eye opener and I will be eating out a lot less since I got the buying crap I really don't need thing controlled pretty good. My weakness is my scrapbooking stuff......and Disney. But the last 2 Disney Vacays were paid in cash so no debt from those! :woohoo:

I am hoping to save the receipts too...at le4ast to show KC we need to keep track. I always think money whenever I buy something. We went shopping today and threw away the receipts tho- great start huh?

Money's starting to get really, really tight so I have to get myself together. Needless to say, there will not be 4 trips to WDW in 2009 :sad2: . In hindsight, that was really stupid...

Tell me about it we should not have taken the weekend trip in Nov, we were much closer to paid off with the credit cards but had to hit F&W. :confused3

Kat - we have a spreadsheet that we use for a monthly budget. Most of it is set for the month (fixed bills like the mortgage, preschool, car payments etc.) and what's leftover after those and the utilities is what we have to spend for the month. Then, we've got another spreadsheet that we keep track of all of our spending on. It starts at the top with the amount from the first spreadsheet and subtracts everything we spend. That way we know how much money we have left as we get closer to the end of the month.

DH also found a really great spreadsheet online that helps you figure out what credit card to payoff first and how to minimize the amount of interest you will pay over the long-run. PM me if you want it.

I will hopefully remember to Pm u about it, it cant hurt to check it out! I always make lists of what we need to spend and what not but for some reason it never seems to matter... thats what I'm trying to change.

Kat_ We do the exact same thing Jodi does. I start each month with a set amount for the household budget and take away as the month goes along. When I'm out of money, I'm out of money. There is no taking it from savings or other "piles." PM me if you need help, or just want to talk...it's stressful, but looking at what you spend each month is the only place to start. Good luck! :goodvibes

I am a list maker and have written out a budget a million times. Now I really wanna set aside seperate $ for vacations as well as savings and credit cards. I am determined to get KC on board with this.

Cape May dinner - I haven't done this in years and I do love seafood

Brown Derby lunch - still on fence about this one.

LOVED cape may- the clams and mussels were a meal all by themselves! And Brown Derby was soooooo goood...cobb salad!!!!

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

So I am just popping in to catch up. I needed a break from the bed. Apparently going out before was the last straw for my back. I was in so much pain I could barely move. KC massaged me for a while but I'm still pretty sore!

We did get a few good things at the store- a sweatshirt and a thermal shirt for KC and a henly type shirt w a hood for me - for a total of $20! We also bought some boring house carp too, went to get some hummus for a snack and some chai from dunkin donuts.

Since my back hurt we ordered food and got a TON with a coupon so Italian food is the food of choice for the weekend because we have crazy amounts of leftovers- but that means no cooking for me! :woohoo:

Anyways I'm going back to lay down and read some more of the Kim Harrison books! Have a great night all!

Uh ok...........I've made Friend requests.........and still have no friends.......I'm feeling a bit lonely............

O.k. because I can not stand to be with out something everyone else has I have joined FB. Thanks Kat for adding me as a friend.

/
Well, I now have 1 friend.........if you all see a request from TEminnie---please do not hit the ignore or whatever button.....that's an order! :lmao:

Katt-How do you only spend $140-160 on groceries every month?! Share, please? popcorn::

Thanks for the room compliments. I'm loving it too. I'll have to find out what the red is. It's Behr (like your puppy, TE :flower3: ) from Home Depot.

I'm going to delete the picture of my phone and less up the name and repost it. so if anyone has qupted it, could you delete it too? :flower3:

I'm so tired from all this project stuff, I'm off to bed.

I was wondering that too. :confused3
I think she meant 1 week, but if she didn't I need to know the trick! :confused3

I have a request to you but I am not under Margie as that is my middle name and I used my first name on FB. Yes I need to find one name and stick with it. I am very confusing
I either just added you or some strange woman. :lmao:

JenJV- Are you feeling better? How's the family doing?

Kat- Take care, okay? That sounds like no fun at all. :guilty:

About the 2010 trip, is anyone absolutely against taking their children out of school?

Night ladies. I need to go get some sleep it is after midnight.

Good night all

About the 2010 trip, is anyone absolutely against taking their children out of school?

If I can swing a trip this year for '09 it will be in September and I'll be taking my kiddos out then. Linds will be in 1st grade and DR will be in PK4. Linds is an excellant student and bored to death in Kindy. I'm hoping it will be the same way come 1st grade.

Good Morning Fockers!
Ok so there is no way I am going to read 50+ pages. I read the last 2. I hope that everyone is doing well and there have been no major sickies or problems.

JV - I'm sorry to hear about Emilie but happy about the stroller.

Janet - I've always been against the bi-weekly mortgage. You end up paying off the interest more quickly that way. I just pay extra once a month. The extra money I pay goes towards the principal not the interest. Plus I'm not locked into a set amount if something unexpected comes up.

Dawn - Nice rooms!

Kat - I bought the book, 'Cheapest Family in America'. It was very useful for setting up my budget. I read it about a year ago and I have more money in the checking account than I have ever had in my entire lifetime.

We had a great time in NC. For those of you with Enchanted it is titled A Redneck Christmas. It won't let me link to it. Here's some of my favorite pics.

We loved the area. Although it is becoming more touristy. No Dollywood or Ripley's yet though. I'm sure that's in the works. Lots of gated communities going up right next to the shacks that are still around.

I got a surprise Christmas gift from Doug when we got back home. A Wii! I really wasn't expecting it until we got the room done downstairs. Now we have to put the remodel in high gear!

I have to return to the work grind tonight - BOO! I haven't got my sleep turned around yet. Should be fun. Not.

Later kids!

(I got this from photobucket, didn't see one in NC. Don't mean to offend any one but it is funny for us meat eaters.)
