What about starting a Yahoo group? I can try and figure it out later. We can make it private and do invites for Fockers who are interested. How's that sound? :confused3 This may be the way (weigh?;) ) I get super serious is with accountability. I'm competitive... :rolleyes1

sounds good dawn!! let me know how it works ... i'm simple when it comes to these things!!:rotfl2:

I just started the group. So far, I'm the only member! :lmao: I'm going to tweak it and make it a private group and send out invites.
PM me your e-mail if you want to get an invite. Except Jen who will have to e-mail me! :rotfl2:

CE & other drivers- How does the driving at night thing work? We are supposed to be at WDW Sunday and have a 17 hour trip. I don't want to stay over on the road more than one night. Kirt sleeps in the car, but I don't. Help me figure it out.
Our trip to drive it straight is around 12-13 hours
so you have 4-5 on us.
We have left EARLY..4:00 maybe 5:00 am Drive all day getting us there in time for dinner and bed.. BUT you have first day dinner plans right ??

Still doable...

Leave at 4:00 and drive 10-12 hours.. stop and have a short jaunt into WDW the next day.

This will maybe get me to actually stick with it! You have my email, no?

I can plan a WDW schedule, but this confuses me.:confused3

What we do..

Jim stays up all night the night before we leave and sleeps all day the day we are leaving. He gets up around dinner time. We eat dinner (usually pizza or something quick), give Jimmy his bath, put him in his PJ's and put him into the car. Right around bedtime. He falls asleep before we hit Delaware. I usually drive until we hit the Maryland Rest stop and then we switch over (I won't drive in Virginia...those state troopers there are MEAN, just because I was doing 85 in 55:rolleyes1 ) Jim will drive all night stopping only for gas and bathroom breaks. Jimmy will wake up around breakfast time (Usually about 1/2 way through Georgia). We stop for breakfast (Shoney's or similar), relax, load up on caffiene and hit the road again. I take over the drivng at this point and Jim will catch a couple of hours sleep. Jimmy will dose on and off and watch movies. No one is completely wasted when we get there. IT works really well for us!

Well, we leave around 2:00 in the afternoon, the kids watch a movie or two, we stop for dinner. They can watch maybe another movie and then we tell them it's time to turn it off. With them asleep, we can either one sleep and take turns around every 4 hours or so. The one thing that I will caution you on is that we do this on the way to a grandparent house, where D & I can crash all day. Going to WDW might be tougher this way, as you can't turn the kids over to someone else whilst you catch up. Unless you think B can handle the smaller ones at the pool for a few hours or something? :confused3

I'm sure you're taller than T, I can also remember trying to get you to duck down a bit in our photos :rotfl2:

::yes:: See, ungainly giant... ;) :rotfl:

Off to do a bit of Wii Fit and be told how much weight I've put on since yesterday :rotfl: :wave2:

I know, I'm scared to get on the next time. :rotfl:

I'll get in on the group, but we're walking out the door. Dawn, do you have my email addy? If so, stick me on in, if not, I'll PM you later!

(I won't drive in Virginia...those state troopers there are MEAN, just because I was doing 85 in 55:rolleyes1 )
Keep it 62 and under on a 55... and 72 and under on a 65.
My cousin was a state trooper and he said the GENERAL RULE was to allow 7 miles with out even looking... the exception is a TARGETED AREA.. then they just MIGHT pull you over for 5 miles over.

However the DC Area...those people fly.. if you can handle it.. get in the middle of a "wolf-Pack" and hang On !!!!

We can't do the ALL NIGHT Driving. Our kids ( especially Joshua will NOT sleep in the van)
so that's why we leave early.

Sorry couldn't resist, that's not a pound sign, this is ££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££ :rotfl2:

I have your e-mails, but which one do you want the e-mails to go to?

Hmmmm... that hurt my head. :headache:
The kids stayed up when we left at 5 to Dallas, so they won't go back to sleep. So, leave Friday night about 8pm and I drive while Kirt sleeps. Once I get tired (maybe about 2), then Kirt drives a few hours. Breakfast can be about 6. No, see, that leaves us getting there too early. We don't check in until Sunday.

So, leave really early on Saturday and drive like crazy until we stop for the night is the only thing I can think of. But, then the kids will be awake the whole time. :confused3

SLOW DOWN!

I had like 20 pages to catch up on....jeez!!! :scared1:

Hi! :goodvibes

Whats shakin fockers??

Not much with me really. I read all night last night so I was MIA. Read Kim Harrison- her books are addicting!

Tonight we are going to THIS tonight. The only drawback is that it doesn't start until 11:30pm! We have a dinner reservation at 11pm which means we get to sit during the show, so thats a plus at least! Who needs sleep right???

So have a great day everyone....hopefully tomorrow I can get more involved in the convo! :cutie:

Hey! I used to be one of those DC drivers! It was fun! Don't ever try to drive the speed limit in DC. You might just get run over!

i;m in the group!! yay. i'm not starting till jan 1st though. i need a few couple days to regroup!!:lmao:

I'm not starting until next Monday, when the girls go back to school and things settle down. We're slated to go out for our anniversary dinner on the 1st and I'm going to go out with a bang!:rolleyes1

~~~~~~~~~
Well, we're home from the grocery, bank and Chick-Fil-A for lunch. We got a free Redbox rental for the girls and they're busy watching it while DD7's Easy Bake Oven cake cools. :laughing: I've got to get something done today.... maybe a few more loads of :laundy: And my goal for the week is to get all my scrapbooking stuff organized and make a list of everything I need to finish!
