Team Focker Watch, Part 12. Have we jumped the shark yet?

Thanks. You're snow pictures are making me feel not so bad about the snow we have.

That's okay. It's just we are not used to getting this much at one time and the city is in no way prepared for it:headache:

You're kidding! I'm sorry. Once again, it's not showing up here. :confused3

I know, I just don't get it.

Wow, that's getting to be a lot of snow days. I, for one, would hate that - but then, you know how I feel about school in June. ;)

Like I said before Jimmy won't be going on any days they add to the end of the year. They are waste days. Grades go in the beginning of June. You know they aren't teaching or anything.:headache:

I had class today but the kids stayed home with my dad.

Gla dthere is someone to watch them for you.

I wish it was because he outgrew them, but he put holes in the knees of 3 of his new pairs of jeans. Grrrr!

Wanna know a trick my MIL taught me? Get the iron on patches and put them on the INSIDE of the jeans before they even wear them. Gives them the reinforced knee before they can put holes in them:thumbsup2

:lmao: Poor Janet.

Gee, thanks:rolleyes1

making heart shaped sandwiches, etc. :goodvibes

I was going to do this too, until he was out of school all week!

+++++++++++++++

School is definitely closed tomorrow, but all of Jimmy's homework, 100th day of school project, and his valentines are DONE! We are officially open tomorrow. I was contemplating taking a vacation day, but I think I am going to go in and save the day for something else. We were coontemplainting the zoo, but I think we will wait until the weekend. It is a long weekend because of President's Day:sad2:.

Ooh... thanks! I'll head to Joann's later!

Well that stinks... will they do the VD parties next week?

Are you kidding me? The zoo? Brrrr!!! Now I know I'll NEVER leave California.... there's no way I'd leave my house in that cold. :lmao:

Anyone know what June is like. No interest in July and well August is so close to my Sept trip. Wonder what airfare is like....
That's when we went back in 2007. It was crowded, of course, but it was still wonderful. I prefer that time-ish! :thumbsup2

I wish it was because he outgrew them, but he put holes in the knees of 3 of his new pairs of jeans. Grrrr!
My boys are the same way. They suck at making jeans now.

I've been thinking about doing this. Did you have to take any Medical Terminology courses? Tell me more. popcorn::
I didn't have to but anyone entering into this definitely has to. I started out slowly back when I first worked as a secretary in a hospital and did some short office notes, gathering medical terminology. I've more or less "worked my way up". It really is great to have a job like this, working from home. I go crazy when the kids are home, tho. I figure I make about $20 to $25 an hour for part-time work, but no benefits. Not too shabby considering I pretty much work when I want in my jammies and don't have to deal with the in-office bull. ;) That and play here and FB too.

What does everyone do for their kids for Valentine's day? I'm just curious ...

I need to shop for mine tomorrow but I just plan on getting them a small toy and card. My dad will buy them a big thing of candy so I won't go that route.

I hit Macy's today, too. WHat a great sale, huh?

YES! There were a couple more tops I wanted for myself and I didn't get a chance to see what they had for the kids so I might head back there tomorrow because the deals were so good.

Like I said before Jimmy won't be going on any days they add to the end of the year. They are waste days. Grades go in the beginning of June. You know they aren't teaching or anything.:headache:

I have no idea what our schools will with all the snow days but I think you have a good idea there. I know there have been a few snow days they have called Lindsey off and there was really no reason to. A 2-hour delay would have been fine for them yet they cancelled totally. Drives me nuts that there really isn't a rhyme or reason to it.

Linds was supposed to have Monday off but they are taking it away and they have to go. I at least have the day off and can get things done. LOL

:thumbsup2 DR likes to put holes in the knees of his pants and wear them out as well. Heck, Lindsey does too.

Anyone own a Dirt Devil vacuum? I am trying to find a small one for us and not spend an arm and a leg.

Hi everyone!! I am so sorry for everyone that has been cooped up with the snow, we get snow here in Southern IL but it is cleared or melts in a day or two.

I had one mishap with Ace a couple of weeks ago, the sidewalk looked clear, I didn't see the ice and then Ace (our dog) decided to run toward the door. It felt like someone swept my legs out from under me. I was in pain for about a week :rotfl:, darn dog.

Kat, I loved all the vow renewal info and pictures it looked like you have a wonderful time.

Jo, I am sorry I didn't have a free suggestion. Bill will pay all sorts of money for is video stuff, he is addicted to editing etc. I think we have every special on WDW on dvd :rotfl2:. He messes with it over and over until all traces of commercials are gone.

Welcome back Rosie!!

I posted this on facebook but thought I would share here too:

Bill was interviewed by a local tv station. He has become a Regional director (volunteer position) of a grassroots advocacy group for persons with disablilities and he had organized the first meeting in our area in two years. We recorded it and were watching it tonight when I took this picture:

013.jpg

That is Ace after he saw Bill on the tv, he started whining and jumped up there looking at Bill, it was too cute.

Oh and hmmm I fell pray to some Disney Fuzzy Math. An annual pass was calling my name, I had visions of all the money I would save by getting one ;) so before I knew it I had bought one. Last time I said that we went 3 times in one year :lmao:. I also ended up buying a $350 Southwest gift card :rotfl:.

I need an intervention :rotfl2:.

Anyone own a Dirt Devil vacuum? I am trying to find a small one for us and not spend an arm and a leg.

We've had a couple. They're not bad for a cheaper pick, but don't expect them to last terribly long.

Just a quick post I am back and had a great time with all my Dis friends !!!

Hi, Rosie! :)

Bill was interviewed by a local tv station. He has become a Regional director (volunteer position) of a grassroots advocacy group for persons with disablilities and he had organized the first meeting in our area in two years. We recorded it and were watching it tonight when I took this picture:

That's so funny! :rotfl:

I need an intervention :rotfl2:.

You've come to the wrong place for an intervention. ;) :rotfl2:

************************************************
Just ugh. I stayed up too late - got interested in pricing tickets and such for Milan again. I definitely can go with Dr. Belle if D & I can figure out money, vacation time, etc. But flights to Italy are ridiculously expensive, even just for me, and if D's wanting to do an anniversary trip... D could go, too, and MAKE that the trip, but with Dr. Belle along... :rotfl2: Possibly not quite romantic, though we both love her - but not in that way. :rolleyes1 :lmao: Sorry, cracking myself up here.

Anyway, I had a hard time sleeping and then now once again I don't want to move, yet I have both tennis classes this morning - I have to be D at 10:30. I need to stop by the grocery store, too.

D doesn't think he'll actually get here to the house until around 9:00 tonight.

Hope you all have a great Friday! :grouphug:

You were cracking me up too. I think if you really wanted to make it romantic, then you would really have to go with just you and D. Why is Dr. Belle in the picture with this anyway? I know I missed something just coming back here. :upsidedow

Boring day here. I have to work and then the kids come home. Maybe I can talk Rob into going out to dinner.

I bought the kids a Lindt Lindor truffles heart box. Not too big but good chocolate. I remember as a kid getting boxes of candy and biting into many of them, then spitting them out. :headache: Yuck. At least with these, they know what they get.

I've seen them on QVC. Check their website or Amazon for reviews.

That sounds so romantic.

After 9 offers I think my sis has finally found a house. The inspection was yesterday, so I was over there with them looking at it. Very nice with plenty of guest rooms for my family. :rolleyes1 ;) It's maybe 15 minutes away which, of course, isn't far, but when they are now 1 1/2.

I'm getting my hair done this morning. Definitely adding back highlights as it's way to dark for my taste. There's a wine store down from the salon so I thought I'd get a couple of bottles for Mitch for Valentine's. It's a neighborhood store, so they should be pretty helpful helping with picking something and maybe they will have some different wines. :thumbsup2

Good Luck to your sis with the house and have fun getting your hair done. I'm going to get mine and DR's cut today.

I thought I had quoted Rosie but I guess not. Welcome Back! Looking foward to the pics and TR.

:wave2: Morning Fockers!

Lindsey actually has school today! :woohoo: She had a two hour delay but at least she's going.

DR and I are heading out on the road to do some errands...Walmart, Target, grocery store, get hair cuts and have lunch out.

Hope y'all have a good day!

Anyone own a Dirt Devil vacuum? I am trying to find a small one for us and not spend an arm and a leg.

I am not a huge fan of Dirt Devil. WE have a bissell shark, that wasn't expensive and it picks up really well, especially the dog hair.

Hi Lori :wave2:
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Good morning all. I wimped out and decided to stay home, but after listening to the traffic reports on the radio I'm glad I did, it's still mess out there apparently.

On the negative side we are all sick of being stuck in the house:headache:

We are thinking of hitting up a movie or something. We were going to go to the zoo, but they aren't opening up today.

Cub Scouts is cancelled for tonight. The church where it is held has cancelled all activities, so that means we are out:sad2:

Not much else going on here. Hope you all are having a lovely day:goodvibes

We have been hibernating but tonight have to get out and start doing all the darn laundry so we can have it all bagged up. We changed the appointment for the extermination until next thurs morning. Now we are battling a lying super and hoping that the realty company will get the other apartments checked before we go through all this. I really fear they will come back if things are properly taken care of. So frustrating. [/COLOR]
Wow, you are a brave soul! One sign of critters and I'd have been outta there!

I didn't have to but anyone entering into this definitely has to. Gotcha. I wonder with my Med. term courses and ICD-9 and CPT coding I could get in with minimal courses. My SIL is the flood super. at our Peds office and she's the one who told me to get into it. :thumbsup2

I'd have wimped out too, Janet!

*******************************************************
Well, the Valentine madness had begun. I have loads to drop off with the kids today... goodies bags, cupcakes... bleh!

Andy's got the long weekend off (A rare occurance!), so we're heading to DLR tonight for dinner and some rides and fireworks. Tomorrow we'll just chill and do our GADGAD blankets.

Other than that, it's going to be a quiet day. Off to get the kids to school... BBL. :hippie:

Jimmy's party was supposed to be today, but I am going to send the stuff in for the kids on Tuesday.

Where's JO ???????

Probably playing golf.

+++++++++++++++++++++++

Jim is taking car of some phone calls and other business stuff and then I think we are going to head to the library. It is open until 5pm and Jimmy has watchd all the videos and read all the books he got on Tuesday. We ca't go this Tuesday because he has a doctor's appointment at 4:15. We like to go on Tuesday becasue they are open late and the Children's library usually has a craft for the kids to do, etc. Jimmy loves the library.

Tomorrow we are going to take him to see Alvin and the Chipmunks. It's still playing at one of the theaters around here and he hasn't seen it yet. He is getting really bored being home and having no one to play with.

On Sunday I may see what Denise and the kids are doing and see if they want to come over for bit.

Firstly welcome back Rosie!!!!

The lady that used to clean my house called yesterday to see how I was doing. It really made me feel good that she cared enough to call because we only saw each other 10 minutes every other week when she came to clean. It reminded me that I need to take time to do more nice things because one small thing can really make a difference. :goodvibes
Good idea :goodvibes

We use Zilisoft, but we also pirated it LOL. Kc says for a free one to try: Videora (at videora.com)
Thanks!

I thought you knew. I've been back to work for over a year doing medical transcription. It's a wonderful job for me.

How cold is bitter to you? :rolleyes1 We haven't hooked up our Wii to the net. Too afraid. :confused3
Oh yes I did know and ummmm it was about 34 here yesterday but the wind chill was making it much colder!!!

Fantastic :thumbsup2

Wow that took a long time to do, for some reason it wouldn't allow me to highlight and delete writing :confused3

I won at golf again today, we played skins at 10p a go and I won 10 of the 18 so ended up £1.20 up, I'll be able to afford a vacation soon at this rate :rotfl2: Thing is the winner buys the drinks so I spent £4.40 on them :rotfl2:

Ooooh Janet you'll be pleased to know I got UP on DVD today, it's released tomorrow but as I pre-ordered it was delivered early :thumbsup2 Oh and it's Lost tonight too!!!!

For some dumb reason I can't quote !!!:confused3 Thanks for the welcome back Jo !! I should have known you were golfing !!!!:lmao:
