Team Focker Watch, Part 12. Have we jumped the shark yet?

Ellie has a stinking cold, bright red nose and everything poor thing so she didn't go to singing this morning. Hopefully it'll go soon as we're going to visit my Mum on Wednesday for my Nanny's 90th Birthday and because of her age I wouldn't want to go if one of us is ill, I don't want to be responsible for her not making it to her party :rotfl2:

I know what you mean. Back when the kids were babies, and very vulnerable, we had to stop D's mom coming because she had a cold. It's hard. I hope she feels better soon! :hug:

Today is just a homework and tidy bedroom day, the girls are off for the next week and we won't be back from Mum's until Sunday so I'd really like to get homework out of the way if poss :thumbsup2

Makes sense to me! The boys have another book report due Wed., but luckily this time, it doesn't involve making anything. :rotfl2: Still, we should do it this weekend.

Oh and the DIS is still playing up, when I multi quote it won't allow me to highlight anything so I can delete it, it's so annoying, is it doing that to any of you?!?!?

Nope. Sorry. ;)

********************************************************
Not much happening here. We had a slightly earlier basketball game - 11:00, rather than our normal 12:30. So, we were done by 12:30 and went to a local sandwich place for lunch. Just home now.

D was debating doing night skiing tonight, but he says now he's feeling lazy, and Buzz, who was enthusiastic about it yesterday, is not today. So, I don't know if just Woody & D will go, if all three will go (I'm not going - playing the "need a break, you've been gone all week" card...) or if no one will go. If no one goes, looks like a movie night - we did watch the Olympic opening ceremonies yesterday. The kids wanted to stay up until the US came in - it was LATE! :scared1:

Hope everyone's having a nice day! :goodvibes

Hi Fockers!

I'm checking in very quickly. Lot's going on around here. I'll get an update posted tonight or tomorrow.

Personal update:

BUSY! We went shopping for a entertainment center/TV stand yesterday. Came up with '0'. Went to see "The Wolfman". I liked it. It is very gory and SKEERY! My kinda stuff. We went to eat after that was over.

Doug's nephew is coming to pick up the 'monster TV' in a few. :woohoo: I have been cleaning and doing laundry all morning. Plus I ended up ordering a TV center from Amazon.com. They gave me free shipping on the main cabinet. The other 2 pieces cost me only $53 for shipping.

Get this: I looked at IKEA stuff on-line last week. (The closest store is 150 miles away.) I found a decent entertainment center, well you know-all the parts for one. The total was $480. Not bad. Then they tacked on the shipping........:scared1: They wanted $306 for shipping!!!!! Where was it coming from - Sweden?!! Needless to say, I won't be buying anything from IKEA until they get a store around here. Their loss! I'm thinking I may just send them a note to let then know how ridiculous they are too. Sorry Kat, I know you love the stuff, thank goodness you have a store near by you.

Anyways - My 'more appropriate sized TV' will sit on the coffee table for now. The new furniture should be here by mid-week. That is if we don't get another blizzard.

Oh and yes Doug is still improving slightly. :yay: His next infusion will be this Thursday. I know you are all thinking of him and thank you again!!

Gotta run. Chat at ya' later!

Sounds fun!

Nearly all my family room is Ikea, but I agree - it's only because we have one within the area. Their shipping is crazy, and much of the "fun" stuff - the $.50 coffee mugs and such - you can't order online, anyway. ;) Glad you found something you like.

Were you only allowed to buy it if it was orange? :rotfl2:

Oh and the DIS is still playing up, when I multi quote it won't allow me to highlight anything so I can delete it, it's so annoying, is it doing that to any of you?!?!?

LOL I am hoping the orange will make him wanna vacuum more.

I kept getting weird pop ups everytime i was trying to click in the text box. weird. :confused3

So sorry. Since I'm pretty much "new" again here, I have vowed to only start reading brand new TRs. :flower3:

Well tech it is a new one because I have not gotten far AT ALL and never did a PTR. Just sayin.

Thanks nutso! Their stuff is fine but not for that price! I got my vacuum from walmart.com and the shipping was only $10!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I just wanna go back to sleep. KC ended up staying late at hi s"hackathon" last night so no laundry was done/. I got it all together tho and it's 8 bags....so far. Thats just the linens, bathroom towels, blankets and 2 bags of our regular laundry. I am NOT looking fwd to dealing with this. I haven't even started to pull the closets apart and put them in bags. We are going to do as much as we can tonight and hopefully finish the rest tomorrow. Then on Wed night we will do the stuff on the bed now and the couch cover and then Thurs when they finish bombing we will do the rest of the clothes we wore this week. Such a pain in the you-know-what. We also have to stay out of the house for 4 hours when the bombing is going on, so I'm guessing its starbucks or dunkin for us.
KC is working for the next 2 hours so I plan to chill on the couch and gear up for laundryapalooza.
Have a great day!
Good Afternoon all. Hope everyone is having a good Saturday.
CE - How is the foot?
Kristel - I hate IKEA's stuff. Everything we have ever gotten from there has fallen apart. How is Doug doing?
Kat - Great deal on the vacuum:thumbsup2
Hi to anyone I missed!:goodvibes
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Jimmy friend Matt came over about 11:30 and they just left a few minutes ago. Matt had a birthday party to go to for a kid from school, but didn't want to leave:lmao: I told him that his mom and I would piack a weekend where nothing is going on and we would have a sleep over, so that made him happy.
Jim was at a meeting for work all day, but should be home shortly. Jimmy is watching Hucleberry Hound:laughing:.
While Denise was here we planned a four day trip to Williamsburg. Haven't booked anything yet, but it looks like that will be our "big" vacation this year. It's really not bad, $197 for 3 nights at the Governor's Inn and $17/each for length of stay passes for Colonial Williamsburg. Then we would get tickets for Busch Gardens and then our food, gas and tolls. Should be fairly reasonable vacation. Now, to just talk Jim into it...where is that trampoline:rolleyes1
Chat with you all later!:goodvibes
Okay. I'll check it out. If I deem it easy enough to catch up, I'm in. :thumbsup2
The recipe is at "Give Me That Recipe". I don't remember the rules about linking that board here, but I know you've been there. Let me know if you need the link.
We went to Williamsburg last summer. It is absolutely beautiful. We didn't do Colonial Williamsburg but we did Busch Gardens. I'll find out where we went for dinner, as we really loved it. Our hotel, Springhill Suites, was really nice!
Hi All!!
Janet: that is a lot of snow! :eek::hug: stay warm.
We're feeling the cold down here, which is probably spring weather for you guys, but cold to us Floridians.
Flora: Welcome back ;)
Kat: Hmm never heard of that series, will check it out. If you like hot sci-fi guys/romance try Alyssa Day's Atlantis series. Meg Cabot's books are fun. I liked the Boy Next door which is all in e-mail form. She has another one like that, which is kinda a sequel or prequel but I can't remember the name. I agree with CE about the Size 12 series too.
Loved your Vow renewal pics :goodvibes You guys looked great.
CE: What did you think of the opening ceremonies? How's your foot?
Jo: are you on the current season of Lost? If so, that last episode didn't answer anything. :sad2:
Ok I did a quick read so can't remember anything else.
Keep warm northern Fockers!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I had a girls day with my friend Yani. We hardly see each other at work because either she's busy or I'm busy, so every now and then we've decided to do a movie and out to eat whenever there's something we want to see.

We saw the movie Valentine's Day early this morning and it was cute. Pretty predictable for the most part, but definately a feel good foofie movie. I feel bad for the guys who will be dragged to it by their significant others.
Then we hit up TGI Friday's for lunch, since I had a coupon and they have the 3 courses for $12.99 deal going on. :thumbsup2

Just catching up here and searching for deals for our March trip.

Might do some scrapbooking later on.

:hippie:

There is so much more for kids there than there was when Jim and I went 12 -13 years ago. I'm looking forward to it!

Janet: that is a lot of snow! :eek::hug: stay warm.

Thanks:hug:

:hippie:
Hi! :flower3: I'd like to see Valentine's Day, but our "night out" will have to be a definite "R" as we don't get out like that often. We want to see Shutter Island.

I'd love to go to Colonial Williamsburg but we blew a ton at Busch Gardens and then we went over to Virginia Beach for the remainder of the week. Ahh beach!

OMG, I exhausted! :faint:

We finished up our blankets for Binky Patrol. I think I did most of the work, but oh well. :rolleyes: Now just have to turn them in and get our GADGAD vouchers.

I read, but didn't quote, sorry. :blush:

Let's see what I can remember....

Janet, your trip sounds fun.... :rotfl2: at tramploning to get your way. ;)

Glad to hear Doug's improving, Kristel. :goodvibes

Ugh... I can't remember anything else... sooooo Hi EVERYONE! :wave2:

Off to get some dinner... BBL.:hippie:

LORI was snowed in with the kids. She left them with her dad the other day and came home to lots of dishes.
Well at least you know they are being fed!

:rotfl2: For some reason I found that funny.

Glad Doug is doing better! :hug:

Janet - The trip to Williamsburg sounds fun. I haven't been there in ages but loved it when we did go.

CE - How's the foot doing? We watched the opening ceremonies last night but my kids were in bed well before it ended. I DVR'd it but we still ended up missing the lighting of the torch since the DVR cut it off. :rotfl2:

:wave2: Hi Fockers that I missed!

*************************************************

Today was pretty boring for me. I spent it pretty much between the computer and the laundry room. Finishing up on drug sheets for Medical Assisting and laundry. I wanted to get it all done today so I can spend tomorrow with the kids.

DR and I did Valentine's shopping on Friday and I told him not to tell his sister what she's getting. Of course what was the first thing out of his mouth when we picked her up yesterday?

'Hey sissy...guess what mommy got you???' :headache:

I shouldn't have said anything and he would have never breathed a word to her. I can't wait until next year when he is in Kindy and Linds will be in 2nd and I can shop alone!

That's about it for me. Going to finish watching the Olympics and the news and then heading to bed.

Night all!

Evening All!! I amoff from regular work for 3 days just gotta do parttime tomorrow !!! Only nthing is the kids are off school too!!!

They wanted $306 for shipping!!!!! Where was it coming from - Sweden?!!
OMG that's ridiculous and glad Doug is improving :goodvibes

I got it all together tho and it's 8 bags....so far. Thats just the linens, bathroom towels, blankets and 2 bags of our regular laundry. I am NOT looking fwd to dealing with this. I haven't even started to pull the closets apart and put them in bags.
Wow that sounds like a lot of work, we don't realise how much stuff we have do we!!!

:wave: Your trip sounds like fun and naughty girl using the trampoline :rotfl2:

Jo: are you on the current season of Lost? If so, that last episode didn't answer anything. :sad2:
Yep, we're only a few days behind you and yeah all the temple stuff is definitely weird!!!!

DR and I did Valentine's shopping on Friday and I told him not to tell his sister what she's getting. Of course what was the first thing out of his mouth when we picked her up yesterday?

Don't you just love them? :rotfl2:

Enjoy :goodvibes

I'm fed up with lazy days :sad2: Ellie is still too sick (cold, runny nose etc) to go out somewhere and the weather is not nice enough to do anything, I'm bored :rotfl2:

I'd love to go to Colonial Williamsburg
My godchildren live in Richmond, so we've been a few times. I'd love to actually stay there though.

We finished up our blankets for Binky Patrol. I think I did most of the work, but oh well. :rolleyes: Now just have to turn them in and get our GADGAD vouchers.
That's a great project for you all. :goodvibes

I’ve never seen a Texan scramble anything.:rotfl:
:rotfl2:

'Hey sissy...guess what mommy got you???' :headache:
Looking forward to that with Reid. :rotfl:

I'm bored :rotfl2:
Play Wii golf. :lmao:

Mitch wanted steak at a reasonable price, so we went to Outback last night. I didn't eat meat, but we had a nice time anyway. :goodvibes Very crowded, but we did call ahead seating, so the wait was minimal.

NASCAR starts today. :rolleyes: Mel, are you excited? :banana: Mitch wanted to go, but with the weather so cold, I'm glad we aren't. :cold: Needless to say, I'll be watching the Olympics. ;)

:lovestruc:lovestrucHappy Valentine's Day :love::love:

[Flora gets to work in her jammies. I used to have a babysitter named Flora. She was a sweet person. Always called us her babies. Even when we were in our 20's. She didn't work in her jammies. Now you'll be reminding me of her everyday.
Glad I can remind you of your sister. :hippie: I still love my jammies. LOL

Finishing up on drug sheets for Medical Assisting and laundry.
Are you taking courses for a Medical Assistant? I work for a urology specialists' office, and they said that will no longer hire MAs - just nurses now. I hope that isn't the trend now. :guilty:

I'm fed up with lazy days :sad2: Ellie is still too sick (cold, runny nose etc) to go out somewhere and the weather is not nice enough to do anything, I'm bored :rotfl2:
I hate too many lazy days. I guess if I am absolutely STUCK being lazy, it stinks.

Mitch wanted steak at a reasonable price, so we went to Outback last night. I didn't eat meat, but we had a nice time anyway.
Do you not eat meat? I'm a big meat lover! :rolleyes:

I bought the new Roxio Creater 2010 and have been converting old VHS/VHC tapes over to DVD. My first project was actually a previous conversion from 8-mm to VHS. It's of my parents' wedding and my family when I was about 3 years old. I was so afraid that the VHS tape would deteriorate more, so I am so glad that I am preserving it longer. I made a bunch of DVD copies. My next project is my wedding. I have 2 long VHS tapes of that, plus our honeymoon in Disney World. After I get that done, I'll try to post some clips on youtube. We have video of us in the skyway and the old Horizons building.

Good Morning All !!
Janet I loved Willimsburg , What's this about TRAMPOLINING:lmao:
Happy Valentine's Day!!:love::lovestruc:grouphug:

I am off to breakfast on Judy for Valentines Day!!!!!:thumbsup2

Hi everyone! Just wanted to pop in and wish all of my favorite Fockers a very...

Happy Valentine's day Fockers!!

Kristel - Glad Doug is doing better

Janet - I loved Williamsburg, took Ryan when he was 9 (now 20). He ended up loving the restored area and was a member of the Jury during a mock trial. It turned out he loves history like his Aunt. We loved Busch Gardens, great coasters, very clean, but big Hills!!!!. Are you going to the water park there? Oh and Ryan also loved Jamestown, we never made it to Yorktown.

Tracy - that sounds great about GADGAD, good for you.

Kat - that is way to mush laundry

Angela - I'm not a fan of Outback, but they have a couple of decent non steak items. How long is Mitch home for?

DM - yes we know you like meat....

Ok, that's all I can remember.

*********************************

So I had a standard view BW studio booked for my September trip, figure I would save points with the standard view. But I have gotten to the point I like to spend time at the resort and pool and I loved the idea of Storm Along Bay with that lovely sand bottom at BC in September, so I just called and switched to BC, 23 more points, but I'm worth it.

My day is going to be filled with a bunch of doing nothing on the couch.

Later Fockers

Hi, all!

Happy Valentine's Day! :goodvibes

I've been reading along, but not quoting. Sorry. Hi! :wave2:

Thanks to everyone asking about my foot. It's OK. I feel it here and there, but I'm not all limpy or anything. :thumbsup2

Not much going on today. The boys are working on the book reports, and DBIL called, so he's on the phone with them.

Lazy day... D & I are playing tennis with our friends at 5:30, but we've got nothing until then. Woody is informing DBIL that they're going to the park, though. :rotfl2: So it's possible that that will happen. I need to do some cleaning, so I'll likely stay here.

Hope you're all having a lovely day! :grouphug:
