Part Two:
The Vow Renewal. February 6th, 2010.
Since there was snow we had to change our original plans for doing our ceremony in Central Park. It took a while but we decided on Grand Central Station. Why? It's actually where KC originally proposed to me many moons ago. So it seemed to fit, and it's indoors.
We started off the morning meeting up with our friend's Andy (who got ordained to marry us), Kevin & Lisa. Once I took off the boots and leggings and sweatshirt I wore to get there, due to the snow, we were set to go. My heels were much nicer with the dress than the big black boots. We stopped by what we refer to as "the spot". The palce where KC proposed. it's inside the subway, near an exit in the center of this kinda sun dial compass thing. The pillar we were standing at had stupid blue ads on it , but it was nice anyway. We took a few pics there before meeting up with everyone else.
On the way to meet everyone we scoped out a place for the ceremony and decided on this spot.
It was blocked off above the steps due to a restaurant and so it would be easy to just stand there and keep it blocked from people. MY friends had strict instructions to knock over anyone who tried to walk in our way! So us and 8 of our closest friends went up the steps and had us a vow renewal ceremony.
We wrote our own vows, something we didn't do the first time.
Funny enough our vows were so similar, we laughed about it afterwards.
Everyone took pictures and video so we have yet to collect their stuff, but this was with my camera. The video is being stubborn and KC has to figure out how to play it without the actual video camera.
All of us split up into different cars and met up in downtown NYC for Brunch. We chose a small French place since we love French food. The service turned out to be horrible and the food wasn't so great either. We actually all left hungry. BUT we had a good time with each other.
Since Andy got ordained so he could remarry us, we made a lot of jokes about him starting his own religion, so a chance to take a pic with his bread and wine was too funny not to pass up.
Please note the orange. KC has had a thing for wanting to have worn an orange tie at our first wedding, and always picks on me about not letting him. So this time the whole thing was based on the darn orange tie. I even bought a shawl to match.
My marscarpone and strawberry stuffed french toast.
Turned out it was completely burnt on the bottom and we had to send it back. The second one was decent tho. Again, the portions were too small and we all were hungry when we left.
Somehow we ended up with only couples at the brunch...
Angelo & Chrissi. Chrissi & KC grew up together and have been friends for over 10 years.
Kevin & Lisa. KC's closest friend at work.
Lou & Diana. They have been to WDW with us. KC & Lou met when they both worked in the Nintendo retail store in NYC, and I became fast friends with Diana after that.
Eric & Cathy. Eric and I go way back to my wrestling days, he's one of the few wrestling friends I still speak to.
We all drove back to our house (minus Lou & D, who went home) to hang out and order some food! We ended up watching some old VHS tapes of my wrestling and then ordering some wings and fries from a local pub.
And of course there was gaming. LOL.
We had a spectacular, wonderful, fun filled, awesome weekend. It couldn't have been better, well maybe if my BFF, Laura(who lives in Fl) was there, but she was in spirit. We really had a great time and are so incredibly happy. I am thrilled beyond beief to say that we really are ok and that happiness is the only thing I see in our future. It was a really long year but this anniversary made it all seem like a distant memory and the only way to go now is up.
The best day ever...
