New kitty is doing good--she/he is eating good but still very afraid. Keeping her in a large crate and talking softly to her which is what the internet said to do! I gave her the Revolution treatment too. Daran didn't say much--just "she'll be OUTside, right??" Isabella would kick her kitty rear if she got in here so that would not be good!
So you're keeping it? Was it a stray?

The grandparents left this morning, they were only here for two days. Turns out the reason for the visit is that they wanted to buy Mom a new car for her birthday! So we will be accepting delivery of a shiny new Toyota Camry on Thursday or Friday. :woohoo: It is a VERY generous gift, funny thing is that they wanted Mom to keep it a secret from us until she drives up to the house in it. Obviously she did not keep it a secret or I wouldn't be typing this right now.
Cool, all's forgiven then :rotfl2:

at AK I watched birds sit over the asia bridge and wait and time it to land on people. The birds would even wait until there was a large crowd of people so it was a bigger target.:lmao:
Yikes :rotfl2: And wow what a lot of bird calls you have to remember, maybe you should wait till you move before you get some more animals :rotfl2:

We sold popcorn for the cub scouts from 8am to 12pm. Then we went and got Jimmy's Halloween costume. Now we are home and we all exhausted.
Cool :thumbsup2

We're meant to be seeing Emma tomorrow, she's doing a half marathon, but I haven't heard anything from her and it's almost 9pm :confused3 I have her inlaws # but don't really want to call!

How much longer is she there for Jo?

hey guys! I had a crazy week! So it's finally over and now I have a TON of studying to do.

you guys were talking about birds and pooping on people?

Im in a bird class right now and have a test net week. I have to be able to identify humdreds of birds and about 90 bird songs and calls. :scared1: But after being in the class for a few weeks I'm thinking a bird might be pretty cool to have. After all, i took my mammal class and was inspired to get potts, maybe now i'll get a bird too, and then when I take my reptile class I'll probably want an iguana to top it off. I think the bird will have to wait though...i already have twice the animals I should have.

I'm off to starbucks to go study. I've just been getting too distracted at home lately.

Has anyone heard from Kristel? I hope shes alright!

ok....bird expert....what's the difference between a parakeet and a budgie??

So you're keeping it? Was it a stray?

!

yes...and yes! My dad had seen the mama cat and 3 kittens near their house and they were strays. It's really eating a lot--probably very hungry. I'll try to get a picture if I can. It's a "tuxedo" kitty--black with white area under nect and white booties! :goodvibes

Hi girls! You won't believe it~ I just awoke from a 5 hour nap. I fell asleep at lunch and woke at dinner. Man, know I'm groggy!

No plans here, but to try to clean the house. It's below freezing outside and we have SNOW last night and will again tonight. :scared1: I really wanted to go to the orchard, but now all of the crops were ruined in the freeze. Very sad for the mom and pop, fall harvest farmers.

Janet- We sell wreaths for cub scouts, not popcorn. Popcorn would be way easier to bring to the families!

Jo- Did you ever hear from your sister?

Mel- Sorry about your eye~ complain all you want!

dlwharp- Not sure If I "met" you yet- I'm Jen, Beyond my addiction to Disney, I'm a really super busy SAHM who volunteers a ton and loves to scrapbook.

TE- You are keeping the kitty?

Lessa- Happy Thanksgiving! Will you have turkey?:confused3 I ask this every year, I know!

TE - You're keeping the kitten:lmao:

Jen - Some of the troops around here also do Christmas trees, but our pack doesn't.

I forgot to say we did a booming business today. We sold $697 worth of popcorn. ALthough, it helps that the stuff ain't cheap.

What's nice is that Jimmy gets a percentage of what he sells in a scout account, which is used to offset the cost of trips and activities for us:thumbsup2

I love that a % goes directly towards HIM! That's a lot of corn to deliver!

Last year ds sold $50o wreaths, garland and swags and he only went around 1 block of the hood. DH needs to take him out soon. Maybe if he does 2 blocks he could be the super winner! ;) Now I'm hungry for popcorn! :)

Well, I'm really glad that JenJV asked Lessa if she's eating turkey because I wonder this every year! LOL So, now I know. :thumbsup2

Nothing new here. SD mowed the lawn (which he is hoping does NOT need mowing again till next Spring!) NotBob and Gus took a bike ride to the library. They got a new book to read together (Clive Cussler?) and a book for me (Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood, which I've read but was wanting to read again) and then they came back.

We had burgers on the grill. Figured we'd better get grilling as the SNOW is coming! They were really yummy! Had the last of the garden tomatoes on top of them! Delish! No decent tomatoes till next summer.

I think I'll watch some trashy tv and have a cold beer. I'm going to try to escape tomorrow and go to the grocery store. :rolleyes1

MEL:banana:

ok....bird expert....what's the difference between a parakeet and a budgie??

The way you pronounce it! :rotfl: They are the same bird. Just a matter or what you call it. :thumbsup2 Parakeet is usually used as a general term for small parrots with flat tails. Budgeriger are a type of parakeet. Just like sparrow, theres a ton of different types. They were bred to be different colors, so there are tons of variation now. they're originally green and yellow with black and white wing bars, and come from australia.:teeth:

See Jo, we were right:rolleyes1:rotfl2:

I made a full Turkey dinner last weekend. It was yummo! Enjoy Lessa!

Hey you East Coasters... THE SNOW IS COMING!!!! Most of the snow melted, but tomorrow we're getting it again. THIS IS NUTSO! Get your grills fired up and lawns taken care of and IF you have underground sprinklers and they haven't been blown out ~ Go cover the outside valve with blankets. A few years ago we had an early freeze and ours blew! It just poured water out and was $$$ to fix.

Mel- I love that book!

OUr forecast is calling for mostly sunny and 67 for tomorrow!:confused3:flower3:

ok....so get this.....I went over to moms house to take her doggie back and I asked her what kind of bird the little bird was..........

she said "it's a budgie"---:lmao::lmao:

Of course, I asked "are you sure?? It looks like a parakeet!"
So my dad got the official bird book out and told me the history of budgies!:lmao:

OK, the bird debate is cracking me up. I can't leave you guys alone for a minute!

HELLO EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have missed this whole crazy bunch! Hopefully I can get back in the swing of things now!

I started back 8 pages. I hope I didn't miss too much. I saw a few of you asked about me. That is so sweet. I explain my abstenteeism below. First a quick update.

JANET – I’m glad your brother is doing well now. I hope your Dad will be OK. I’m sorry you had problems with the MRI. Congrats on the popcorn sales. BTW it sounds like you are better, but what's up with the ear?

V – ADR planning. Staying at SSR
When is your next trip? What did you decide on the ADRs?

CARRIE - Hey there. Good to see you back with the Fockers.

Michelle - I saw that you popped back in too!!!!

JO – Golfing and Basketball and birding.
I've never been a big fan of birds for pets. We did have parakeets when I was a child.

MEL – I’m guessing you had your eyes worked on. I hope you are feeling better and not as bored now.

ROSIE – Wants to’ trick or treat’ this year. She has some consumers smuggling ‘baloney’.

:rotfl2: Your life is never boring!

DAWN – Patiently waiting for the round 2 letter from MP.

ANGELA – tried to get Mitch winterized for his next trip. She is missing her man.
Big hug to you!!!

SLATE - recommends the people of Walmart website.
I read about that last month. I guess these 2 young guys started it and the response was overwhelming.

RACHEL – says she had a good time at WDW meeting some of the gang. Her DSon in the 5th grade has announced he has found his love. However, she is not allowed to have a BF until next year.
Oh wow!

JV – wants to earn some extra $$$ with some part time work.
Happy Anniversary!

KAT – I am so happy to see you and KC are on the mend. That’s wonderful.

TE – Having adventures in doggie and parrot sitting.

DENISE – Getting ready for Halloween. She is going nuts trying to find a Nutella recipe she saw earlier.

CE wants to sub but nothing is available right now.

LESSA – celebrating Canadian Thankgiving. Too bad she gets to work.
I know how you feel.

CEL BEL – studying the avian creatures and likes them.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

Take a deep breath.

So as you know my BFF's mom passed away. The funeral was very sad. 2 grandaughters got up and recited some poems. I don't think there was a dry eye in the place. After all that, I had to get some things caught up at home, yard and such.
When I came back to work, my usual co-worker had to do some training on the day shift. I got to work with a day shift person at night in his absense. That meant no fooling around on the computer. We can't have the day shift thinking we waste valuable work time. That would just not do! This person worked with me for 2 weeks.
Plus, Doug had his Gamma Knife surgery on the 5th. That took all day. When we finally got home, I was pooped.

PPPPPLLLLLLUUUUUSSSSS, I am working mega overtime this month. Just for an example - I worked last night and tonight and in the next 17 days I will be off 4 nights. The money will be good. I just won't have any time to spend it. Guess I'll have to do that at WDW!!!

What I'm trying to say is - I just haven't had time to get all caught up with my computer buds!!!! I did finally get caught up at Enchanted. I still need to do another update on my PTR re-do over there. I desperately need to get caught up on the TRs and PTRs over here.

I will let you know that the BFF trip has been rebooked for December with no problems. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't get a couple of ADRs that I wanted badly. That's the way it goes. I'll share more info. on that later.

I'm off tomorrow but I have a zillion things to do. I'll try to get back here on Monday evening.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend. Hugs to all that need them!

Hey Kristel's back! Glad to "see" you again! Sounds like you have had an exhausting time---are you done training now?? Try not to work TOO hard--take some breaks and chat with us! :rolleyes1

++++++++++

.........and yes, I'm keeping the kitty! Why is everyone so surprised? I only have a zillion pets already!
(Boots let me pet his head.....then he ate more food.........my MIL said I could probably get him neutered next week....she has 7 adopted cats so I call her the "cat lady" since they keep coming to her house! )

He's still pretty sceered tho---keeping him in the crate.

ok....so get this.....I went over to moms house to take her doggie back and I asked her what kind of bird the little bird was..........

[HELLO EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:banana:Kristel is back!

:faint: on the work schedule.

Glad you and Rockie were able to reshceudle the trip. It sounds like it is something you both need.

We missed you!

As for my ear, since I flew home from FLA I have been having problems with the hearing in my left ear. I can't hear high frequency stuff. That's waht the MRI was for. I have to call on Monday to see what he wants me to do!

Hi Everyone!

Kristel, It's so great to see you! I am so sorry for the loss of Rockie's Mom. I hope you all find peace.

It's been a crazy busy day! I started with :laundy: and then we had an outing to Tanaka Farms with my Brownie troop. They had loads of fun picking radish, onions and carrots and then they went to the HUGE pumpkin patch area and picked their pumpkins off the vine. Pretty cool for city kids! :lmao:

Those girls had me walking all over that farm, going through a corn maize and searching high and low for the perfect pumpkin.... WHEW, I am exhausted! :faint:

Maddie went to her first sleep-over tonight. I have to admit, I'm a little nervous about it. That poor mother is having ten 7 year olds invade her home! She's NUTS!

Well, It's about the perfect time for a cup of coffee and some net surfing. :surfweb:

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! :flower3:

Kristel! So glad your back. I was worried about you the past week or so.

So what was the history or budgies? :listen:
