OK, Jo, you actually made me snort when I read that first line. Good thing I didn't have a drink in my mouth. I love that slate and your purrrfect furbaby.Shhhhh I really live in San Diego and fake my accent.
I had my new slate hearth fitted today and who knew that slate chips and because it's "natural" has arrived with iregularities. It still looks good but not quite what I expected IYKWIM!
Gawd, I hope so! But I woke with the beginnings of a migraine, so the jury's still out...![]()
Well, my decision to stick my angry head in the sand and deal only with what I absolutely must has helped some; I'm considerably less stressed today. I do have this nasty headache hanging around, but I think that's weather related. ENOUGH with the rain already!
Been dealing with a lot of Leo stuff lately. We've long suspected the possibility of high-functioning autism and/or something else along those lines but if it's there, it's so minimal that it didn't seem to be a barrier. It seems like maybe it's become more of a problem with school, though, so I set about trying to find some help. What a freaking nightmare. Tried one psychologist who immediately wanted $600 worth of testing that isn't covered by insurance. Uh, no. I don't have that right now. (Bonehead's STILL not paying. Grrr.) And like I said - it's not like Leo's in terrible shape; we just need some guidance and tools to help him out. So he's got an appointment with someone else in a few weeks who sounds like a better fit. Here's hoping!
Meanwhile the refi I began in early Oct. is just now getting ready to close. It's crazy how backed-up the banks are. Hopefully, it'll be done by next week.
Work... still sucks 90% of the time. But I've been busier this week, which helps a lot. So does avoiding people.

I hope that things at work get turned around. Oh, yeah and all banks are shiesters too!
Thanks, Tracy!Kristel, you and Doug are in our thoughts and prayers.
Thanks. MMMM chicken and noodles. Great bargain shopping!Oh, Kristel.Let us know how things are going.

My hair is nicely trimmed.I went to Target and picked up some stuff, nothing too exciting. I did pick up a nice rugby-style shirt and a gorgeous cream cabled turtleneck sweater from the Land's End sale - got both for a grand total of $27.
Now I'm having leftover chili and am just hanging. Nothing after school today, and I put the chicken & noodles in the crock pot before I left this morning.
Hi Jo, I am still around. I read the thread a lot, I just feel like my life is utterly boring compared to all of you. We did have something great happen yesterday.
Bill's advisor let him substitute the last class he needed with a class he had already taken. Bill is graduating from Southern Illinois University in May with a Masters in Rehabilitation Administration. School's out FOREVER as of yesterday!!
I am so proud of him!!That is SUPER! He is such an outstanding individual.

Thank you, Kat! I think my streamlining of clutter = moving it from one corner to another until it ends up in the trash bin. It's slow but does get results.Kristel- Thinking of you guys and sending good thoughts!!!!

Well since there was a huge "storm watch" yesterday I changed my plans all around and woke up to nothing this morning. It snowed but it was gone by this afternoon. Thanks universe for messing me up.
I am going to stay in anyway tho, maybe bake some Biscotti I never got around to making before. I am also making some Hash Brown Chili for dinner so we have leftovers for the weekend in case we come home hungry, and then Sunday I won't have to cook!
I do have the whole house to do a once over of, and I am trying to streamline all our clutter. Sometimes I just feel like we have too much crap out in the house. With the prospect of new people coming over Saturday I feel the need to fix the clutter.
Anyways off to be productive, I Hope.

Thank you, thank you! You know, I could eat 2 boxes of the shortbreads at this very moment-with a big alcoholic beverage, seriously. It wouldn't be pretty.Kristel![]()
Sending lots of good mojo your way. Please keep us posted.
Hi girls! Another crazy week. I'm tallying up cookie orders - what a nightmare! Ugh!
Have a great day!![]()
Thank you, Janet too!

Doug hasn't had any more seizures. The doctor upped his anti-seizure meds a bit. We got a CD of the MRI pics. Since I'm not a doctor, I'm not sure if it is good or bad. I can definitely see where the swelling is. Can't tell where that ends and tumors begin though.

I did manage to get some sleep from 3PM to 6PM. Then I fixed 'breakkie' for supper.
His appt. with the dr. in Indy is at 10AM. The Avastin 'infusion', such a smooth, innocent sounding word, is at 1PM. I don't think we'll be home before 4PM. I am taking off this set of work so I can deal with this without being distracted. My job can be dangerous if you aren't alert. I was going to be off Friday anyway so it's just a couple of extra days.
Now let's hope that the NWS is correct on the landing time of this huge storm that is headed our way - JOY! It is supposed to start snowing in Indy around 7AM on Fri. with 4"-8" being dumped. I am assuming it will hit us about an hour later. Then it is going to be windy Fri evening which will be terrible, especially out here in the boonies. My freezer is stocked and we went to the grocery store on Monday - we should be OK.
That's it. I'll keep you informed.
