Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

Huh. Not much happening today yet. :) I go for the blood draw after lunch, and need a Target run, too, but that's about it.

Hope you all have a wonderful day! :goodvibes

Sounds relaxing:thumbsup2

He's really only played doubles because that's what JV plays. I think you have to play singles if you make varsity. :confused3
The issue is this: He wasn't the BEST JV player, though he did get "most improved." Coach says that they don't let seniors play JV though. The competition is pretty stiff in Varsity and basically he HAS to make that. Coach did say that she could go to the Athletic Director and get a special "dispensation" of sorts for him to play JV if he doesn't make it. She said she'd be willing to do that for him.

I have my fingers crossed for him:thumbsup2

Still kinda sick, i think we are FINALLY at the tail end of it. KC is much better, a sort of cold is left for him. I am on day three of a new antibiotic thats only one pill for 5 days. So far its making me feel worlds better but its knocking me into coma-like naps every 4 hours or so for a few hours at a time. I'm taking it because its better than being awake for 3 days straight.
[/COLOR]

GLad you guys are on the tail end of whatever was kicking your butts:goodvibes

How is KC making out with the new job?

Know what I love about my job? That I have enought senority and enough vacation that when they P(*S me off I can take an extra vacation day. That's right as if 5:00 TODAY I will be on vacation:woohoo:

::yes:: Jim spends WAY more than the stipend he is given each year:sad2:

My neice is a teacher and said the same thing. She teaches Spec Ed and is proving to be very helpful with Mikey.

Today Jim and Jimmy are coming down to meet me for lunch and then going on their Phanatic Hunt. There are 6 more statues right around where I work.

Where are the statues at? Or is there a website where I can get some info on them. I'm taking Mikey downtown on Sat and would love to show him some of them.

I played JV through school and loved it just because I was part of the team. Hopefully he'll make the team, either one.

Hi all.

Easy day here, no kids. I'm giving my granddaughter a pool party for her birthday and got some great deals on party favors at Party City today. They had a lot of things on clearance at 50 cents. I love a bargain.

I got a new modem for my computer today so hopefully my internet problems are solved. My modem was constantly shutting down and losing the signal which was really frustrating.

On a really good note Mikey went in the main pool yesterday on his own. He has issues with a lot of things and the water is one of them. He actually clung to my neck and cried and shook whenever I took him in the pool. Yesterday he actually laughed and said he was a whale. That is such a huge step for him. My mom was really sorry she couldn't be there to see it because she has been working with him all summer. It is such a HUGE accomplishment for him. We want to take him into Center City on saturday so he can ride a train (he loves them) and see a dinosaur as a reward.

Well not much else here. Have a good day.

Hey all. Hope you are all having a good day.

We got up this morning and went to Jim's school and got his classroom already for the start of school. There are a few things he still has to do but he can do that when he goes back on September 1st.

Now I am doing the luandry and just hanging out. Trying to get as much done as I can today so tomorrow is just packing and getting a pedi. Saturday is the Scout Picnic and then Sunday we leave:yay:

BBL:hug:

Who turned the HOT on? Yowsa. I know it's hotter in Florida, but we're wimps up here! :sad1: That's sweat, not tears. LOL.

So, yesterday's tennis tryouts were HARD for SD. He got in the car and was feeling pretty low, that he only won about 4 out of 16 games. He said he was pretty sure he wouldn't make it. I gave him the obligatory "Hey, you have to go to tryouts W-F this week AND next week. Don't give up yet! How can you get WORSE, if you play all those days and try your hardest???"

Well, today was MUCH better! He was all excited that he played against the 4th ranked Varsity player and won 6 out of 8 games! Coach pulled him aside and complimented him on his "hustle." (Which made me think of Disco, and I laughed!) So, he's back on track!

Went to the gym this morning with Kimmy (she picked me and Gus up because I let SD have my car). It was a good workout! Got in some biking AND elliptical. Came home, cleaned house, the boys had showers and then we hit the diner for lunch. Had a delish Greek salad. Was craving it all morning because while I biked I read a magazine that had a recipe for a greek salad. They say don't SHOP when you're hungry. Don't bike either! :lmao:

Then we make fast trip to the grocery, came home and finished up the cleaning and showered! Whew!

NotBob just walked in the door! YAY!!!!
Gotta run!
Hope you all had a great Thursday!
Mel:banana:

Did you watch SYTYCD so we can talk about it? :cutie: We're watching tonight's after C gets home from dance. I'm not going on facebook until after we watch it, LOL!

Evening All !!Nothing much going on today!!Work Meetings , balancing bank statements for 10 people:scared1:It is more time consumimg than hard !!!
Judy did survive the overnite camping :rotfl2:But I don't think she's in a hurry to do it again!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hi all! Got luandry done, then I colored my hair. I will post a pic as soon as I take one. Went with brown, that looked like my hair. Its a bit darker than I am used to, but I think it came out pretty good.

Getting ready to watch Project Runway. Have a great night:goodvibes

Mel, glad SD had a better day. :goodvibes Tennis is stressful, don't know why anyone would do it. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Janet, glad you had a nice day off! :)

Rosie, I had to laugh at the unplugged internet. Glad Judy is back safe and sound!

*******************************************************
It was a weird day. I had a trim, but just before, D wanted me to come with him to pick out a new toilet. We have a fairly new one we were going to reuse in the bathroom, but my dad asked if he could buy us a higher seat one - we had never thought a thing of it, but I guess we have the lowest toilet seat height that you can buy. :rotfl: But, picking out a new one became complicated - we have such a tight space that we can't have the "elongated" bowl, but then it was hard to find a higher seat with a regular bowl, etc.

Anyway, we didn't have a lot of looking time, then I had to run to the haircut. I forgot to leave my car keys (which D needed if he was buying a toilet) with them, so they were stuck at Lowe's whilst I had the haircut - and of course, my stylist was running late.

So, we pick out a toilet, get it home, and now, what, 9 hours later it's still not in. Poor D. He keeps saying, "This is NOT HARD to do," but something about the flange and ring in the floor aren't connecting right, and he's totally unsure of what to do. He's on his 3rd return trip to either Home Depot or Lowe's to try to make it work. I hope he finds a solution - he is most unhappy. Sigh.

Anyway, other than taking the kids to karate, I've not been busy, but have been on hold to lend a hand whenever I can. :confused3 I did make a nice pasta for dinner that was completely made up, but yummy. :thumbsup2

Good morning! Sorry I haven't been around much (at all?!) this week. The cruddy cold continues; I'm still coughing and poor Leo is home sick today. This sucks! We were planning a day trip to the MK tomorrow, but not if we're feeling like this. I do so want to take Nancy Sonata on the highway, though! :rotfl: We'll see.

Just got a call from my friend here about the F&W Fest - she got her Mickey Monitor and there's all sorts of fun F&W info. in there to get us excited! :yay:

School shopping is done. Leo doesn't need clothes, so we just got the notebooks, etc. and 2 new pairs of sneakers. The benefit of a slow growing child who's not fond of dirt is that clothes usually last him a couple years. :thumbsup2

I think that's it. Has anyone heard from Krystal? I'm worried. :worried:

No, but I am worried too?

Morning:goodvibes A busy day planned here. Jim has to go get an xray, put out the trach (he is doing that now), mow the lawn and give me his clothes he wants packed for the trip.

I have to pack, finish a lat load of laundy, get my pedi, run to the grocery store, make sure everything is ready for the scout picnic tomorrow, run the dishwasher, and clean/generally straighten.

Everything has to be done today becasue tomorrow is the scout picnic so we will be out all day and then we leave at 5am Sunday morning.

THe hotel we are staying has free WiFi, so if I have time I will check in from Williamsbueg. If I don't get back before we leave....see youall next Thursday:yay:

Hope you both feel better soon. Summer colds are horrible.

I have been checking info on F&W Fest since I will be there in Oct. I am excited too.

Krystal has done some posting on another site, not often and nothing about Doug. She is doing a PreTR there and we'll be at Disney the same time, again, but this time we are actually going to meet up with each other.

Have a great trip. I love Williamsburg and hope to get there again soon.

Thanks for the info on the Phanatic. I did find the map so we'll be able to see a few.

Morning all. Not much going on here.

I saw the othopedist yesterday about my back. It's a little worse than 6 years ago but not significant. This doc is a really "funny". I have some issues with bones spurs in my foot and somehow my bad back caused them. I had the bone spurs long before the back issues. I had a few jobs where I stood on my feet all day. He then pushed cortisone again. I can't take it and have told him this every visit. So we will try new meds. One TRIPLES the risk of heart attacks in some people. Um yeah, everyone in my grandfather's family died of a heart attack. I don't think so. The other causes increased suicide risks. Not taking that either. I will stick with Motrin and Aleve. He didn't even look at the knee that is like walking on sponge rubber. I'm glad I got the second opinion on the back but am going back to my conservative dr who at least knows my history and asks about it.

It's my last day actually watching the kids for a week. :yay: I am taking Mikey to the Acad. of Natural Sciences tomorrow to see dinosaurs and we're going on a train. My new philosophy with him right now is to try and expose him to things one on one. He is almost 4 1/2 and people mistake him for 3 all the time. Monday I'm going to the zoo, AGAIN. It's a good thing I have a membership. Wed down the shore again, so it won't be a very relaxing vacation but it will be fun. Now I just have to remember that sunblock goes on the face to prevent looking like Rudolph. :lmao: My face has finally stopped peeling.

Off to swim lessons. Have a great day.

Blech, camping! Don't blame Judy ONE LITTLE BIT. :thumbsup2

I give you credit for wanting to help. When NB does household repairs and it goes like THAT, I run for the hills! :rolleyes1
Hope it went ok in the end!

What size is Leo wearing now? He looks like he shot up a bit in your pics from the summer. It's hard when they get to Jr High/High School and they grow 3 inches at a time! Ugh!
Sorry you've been sick. Summer is rough down there with all the STUFF floating around, I'm sure having a cold ain't helping. :guilty:

Absolutely nothing exciting happened to me today. I had coffee. I went to Whole Foods. I'm home again.
BUT........
Something exciting happened to SD, so I came here to share! :cool1::banana::banana::cool1:

He didn't make Varsity but the JV Coach (who loved him last year and who offered to go to the Athletic Director for a dispensation for him to play JV if he didn't make Varsity) came and did just that!
She had already spoken with the Director so she knew the answer when the Varsity coach made his decision. She said he might not have been better than the 12 guys who made Varsity but he was almost TOO GOOD to be on JV. She said she'd really like him to play 1st position on JV this year for her, if he'd like to.
Of course he was OVER THE MOON!!! He's thrilled, he gets to letter in Varsity tennis even though he'll technically be on JV and he is even happier that he gets to play with 2 underclassmen friends that made JV too! So, a great day for SD.
One he needed (as you "oldtimers" remember) to keep him positive and on the path to being OFF the meds. :thumbsup2
YAY!!!!!! I am one happy momma.
MEL:Banana:

:thumbsup2 When does Leo start?
A week from this coming Tues. :woohoo:
If I don't get back before we leave....see youall next Thursday:yay:
Have fun! :yay:

Krystal has done some posting on another site, not often and nothing about Doug.
Oh good - I'm glad she's been heard from at least.
I am taking Mikey to the Acad. of Natural Sciences tomorrow to see dinosaurs and we're going on a train.
Ooo, that sounds like fun!

Do tell... popcorn::
Let's see... she said that the head F&W chef changed half of the recipes last year and will be changing the other half this year. Also, 2 new booths: Belgium (HELLO chocolate!) and Korea. And no more homemade review booklets; Disney's making and supplying official F&W passports for free! :thumbsup2

What size is Leo wearing now? He looks like he shot up a bit in your pics from the summer.
He's a smidge taller, but no broader. He's still wearing his size 5/6 T's, though he wears the 7/8 ones, too - they just keep sliding off his shoulder. And we can do a 7 in pants/shorts if they're a slim and have an adjustable waist. His classmates tower over him!
So, a great day for SD.
FANtastic!

Evening all !! Just home from my 2 jobs !! Fridays are my LONG days !! I am sooooo glad I can sleep in on saturday a bit !!:rotfl2:

A couple of pairs of khaki pants 2 more school shiets and other than sneakers and sox and boxers voila he's done !!!Now let's get to the girls :scared1:We HAVE to have 10 pairs of fashion jeans cuz you can't wear the same more than once in a 2 week period !!:rotfl2:It;s Rule # 10 of the Teenage Girls School warddobe Review written by an anonomous teenager :lmao:Tops must have either aeropostale or Hollister on them rule #9 14 bras as in #10 you have to wear a different one everyday for 2 weeks #8, sneakers have to cost a LOT of money or they are no good #7 and so on and so on!!!:lmao:
