Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

Hmmm. You may remember me... I'm CE. ;) :rotfl2:

Missed you:goodvibes:hug:

Hi, guys!

Yeah, my mom's, lake, tennis tournament... The tournament didn't exactly go well, but it was a blast. :thumbsup2

Glad you had fun! How was the reunion?

However, I've figured out that I've had NO time to myself aside from a shower and a few minutes of "I'm going to bed now, see you soon," since at least July 2nd. Since you guys know me, you know how nuts that's making me. :lmao:

When do your kids go back to school?

D and the boys went to the lake today, apparently, with some friends. Since they're not home yet, I'm thrilled! :rotfl:

:thumbsup2

Also, look for my mod tag to go away... I just can't give the time for a lot of TR reading, and having not been on the DIS for more than a day in the last month, and trying to get a job... I felt like I wasn't giving it my best effort. :confused3

It's gone!

D goes away for an overnight on Tuesday. I'll be around, I hope. ;) Missed you guys! :grouphug:

Yay...well, not that D is going away, but that you will be around:yay:

Hi all! Very uneventful weekend here. Today I finished up the last of the laundry and FINALLY got mine and Jimmy's tuff together for our trip. Now it feels like it is almost here:cool1: I also got the toiletry bag (except for jim's razor which he can't pack until the last minute) packed. The closthes aren't ina suitcase, they are actually all in a laundry basket...but they are all together:woohoo:

This is going to be a long week at work. I am only working 4 days and I have a tond of stuff to get done before 4pm on Thursday. Tuesday Jimmy has an OT appointment. Have I mentioned how well the therapist said he is doing? :thumbsup2 He can now tie his shoes and can shoot better free throws than Shaq (wait, that might not be a good analogy;)) Friday is actual packing, pedicure, and hair dying (Doing it myself;)). Saturday we have the Scout Picnic at the swim club and then we are leaving on Sunday (hopefully by 4:30am/5:00am)

Hope you all have had a great weekend.

Anyone know when Jo is due back from her dads?:confused3

Aw, thanks, honey. :hug: I went 1-3, the whole team went 1-4. We had a lot of wine and good dinners, though. ;) Loved the hot tub. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Ok, well, it's important to find the rainbow in the rainstorm! LOL! :lmao:
I TOTALLY hear ya on the "no alone time." When your (our) lives are normally punctuated with large quantities of it, it's HARD to do without! NB had two weeks off with us in MA, then home. He had to travel that Tuesday-Thursday and then this week again. He's all broken up. Me, :woohoo:.
Makes me feel bad (a little, lol)

It's gotta be soon. It was only for 2 weeks, I thought.

This weekend was nice! How was yours?
Friday night I brought meatballs and homemade sauce up to my friend, Sheila's. I really cannot recall if I mentioned all this to you guys before but if I did sorry! She used to own this house. When we bought it, they moved into a newer/bigger one across the street. They were foreclosed on last June. They moved away to the other side of town but now are back in the sub, renting a home. She has four children (one is the hottie who mowed my lawn?) and they are the most wonderful, amazing kids. I love her dearly and have missed her so much! She's been very resilient through all of this. The economy is such a disaster here, but they couldn't leave with 3 kids in college here and one a senior in H.S. Awful. Just Awful. Anyway, it's over now and they're here and I am SO happy!!!!
Saturday we took the boys to the County park. SD and I walked 4 miles. Gus and NB biked the trails and did about 10. Then we ordered sammies for dinner. I did get the things for the pickles at the farmers market but didn't make them till Sunday.
Sunday was totally lazy. The pickles got made. They LOOK good, but who knows? Gotta wait 2 weeks to eat one. :rolleyes1 Watched the race and folded laundry.
Now NB's off to Ohio, tomorrow to CT and not home till Thursday night. I have to go see Dr. Seigle (Grrrr) at 1 today.
I hope you guys are having a MUCH Better day than I am sure I will. :hug:

Oh, and I'm finally ready to talk about WDW in Sept. Dawn. :rotfl2:

THings are rough ::yes:: I was saying last week we were interviewing for an entry level clerical position and we had people who had college degrees applying:sad2:

. I have to go see Dr. Seigle (Grrrr) at 1 today. [/QUOTe}

Let us know how you make out. :hug: I was all nuts last week becasue my one eye got all bloodshot and I thought OH CARP! But it must have been my allergies acting up becasue the next day it was fine.:confused3

Oh, and I'm finally ready to talk about WDW in Sept. Dawn.

:lmao:

++++++++++++++++++++++

Morning all. All is right with the world, Mel is posting first:woohoo:. Crazy busy at work today. Need to get the two grant applications done and get most of the stuff off my desk before THursday (At least that is the goal!)

Hope you all have a great day.:goodvibes

Happy birthday!!! :goodvibes

I'm so sorry! :hug: Happy Birthday!

Happy BIrthday:cool1::yay::dance3::cheer2:princess:

Thank you all. It turned out to be better than I thought. My daughters did call me but I had left my phone home on the table when I left the house. :lmao: Jim surprised me by having all the kids come over for a cake that night. Last year he didn't do it and my mom made me share a cake with 5 other people. :eek: I was totally neglected. :sad2: The kids didn't give me anything. My youngest is feeling it from the economy and now her car need the steering column replaced. My son never gives me anything and my other daughter always has an excuse. :rolleyes1 Jim gave me season 1 of Hart to Hart on DVD. It was a nice gesture but we didn't have a DVD player.

the weather sucks AGAIN. 74 in July? :headache:

I would love some cooler weather like that right now. We're in yet another heat wave of 90+ days again.

I pulled the suitcase out and started gathering everythign for our trip together.

Not muc on the agenda tomorrow either, so I may take Jimmy to see that Cats and Doggs movie:confused3 Anyone seen it? Reviews?

I've already started packing for October. :lmao:

Did you see the movie and was it any good?

Have I mentioned how well the therapist said he is doing? :thumbsup2 He can now tie his shoes and can shoot better free throws than Shaq

:woohoo: Glad Jimmy is doing great.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++
Morning all. As I said above my birthday went much better than I thought so that was good.

Saturday I planned on going to the movies until my mother called. I wound up driving to Lancaster again. She needed to buy some kind o jel thing for canning that she swears she can't get around here. That is going to be very expensive jelly. I bought 3 cantaloupes that only cost $3 but when you factor in my gas they were about $10 apiece. :scared1:

Yesterday I took my daughter and grandson to the zoo. I just got a new membership. It was supposed to be mid to upper 80's and not to much humidity. Sure it was in the 90's and sticky. Most of the animals were inside sleeping. Anthony was funny though. We tried to go on the swan boats and he flipped out. He wanted the carousel and then clung to my daughter. He wouldn't do any of the extras that came with the membership. He had fun though.

When I came home Jim had the Phillies on. Top of the ninth, 1 out a man on
2nd and a full count and there was a loud pop and the TV went dark. My TV died. So 5 PM on a sunday night we had to go out and buy a new TV. It is very confusing with all the different things on these TV's. I called my daughters and my aunt who researches everything before I knew what to buy. We got a 42" LG flat screen with 1080 and 120. I have no clue what any of that means but I managed to get it hooked up last night and my son is going to install the surround sound system tomorrow when he has off from work.

Other than that it is another normal week here. Watching 4 kids and one should be getting off his bus any second.

Have a good day all.

Missed you:goodvibes:hug:

Thanks!

Glad you had fun! How was the reunion?

Fun - only 7 people showed, but it was the best 7. :rotfl: Seriously, we laughed all night. :goodvibes

When do your kids go back to school?

September 2nd. :thumbsup2

Yay...well, not that D is going away, but that you will be around:yay:

::yes:: Wound up playing a tennis class this morning, but tomorrow I get to be "forced" to be home because I'm watching the neighbor kid. D will be gone - easy!

Ugh - and I am sorry I missed your birthday! Glad it was better than you thought. :hug:

I tried to make a CD with the vacation pictures for my SBIL and it just doesn't recognize the drive at all - the disc spins, but the computer isn't "seeing" it. I went online and this is apparently a commonish problem, and luckily I'm still under my extended warranty. BUT everyone who's had it has had to have the hard drive replaced. Tennis is hard....

Where is Jo?? Is everyone coming to her picnic?? I gotta get to cookin'

Abby is sick today and had to stay outta work at Walmart. Her rapid strep came back neg but the doc said her throat LOOKED like strep so he started her on antibiotics. She feels like crap.

ANother early start. I think we are the only ones who start after labor day:confused3

My computer has decided that it doesn't have a CD-rom drive at all.

IS it a gateway by anychance? Ours kept doing that and Jim would have to go to the online chat help and they would walk him through getting it back.

Where is Jo?? Is everyone coming to her picnic?? I gotta get to cookin'

I'm ready. The brownies are made.:thumbsup2

Hi to all my Fockers !!! Had a busy morning Bargain shopping for school supplies

We finally got the last thing we needed for Jimmy. Luckily we were able to get most of it through the penny and $1 sales at Staples:thumbsup2

Woo Hoo! Picnic Day! We're on the way Jo!

We only have 2 hours to get there TE...we better swim fast:rotfl2:

Morning all. Work, but only 2 days left after this. So looking forward to my vacation. The fact that I don't have to get up and get ready for work makes me happy:goodvibes

Today, Jimmy has an OT appointment and then I don't know what their plan is for the rest of the day. TOmorrow they are going to come into town and meet me for lunch then go on another Phanatic Hunt. THere are a bunch of them within walking distance of my job that they can get done and then come home with me!:thumbsup2

Thursday is my last day, and I am probably only going to work until about 2pm:yay:

Not much else happening. Hope you all have a great day:hug:

ANother early start. I think we are the only ones who start after labor day:confused3

Well, that's the Thursday before, so we go for 2 days, then have a three day weekend. :rolleyes: Whatever.

IS it a gateway by anychance? Ours kept doing that and Jim would have to go to the online chat help and they would walk him through getting it back.

Nope, HP. The guy thought it was going to be as easy as deleting it from the "device manager" and then scanning for "new hardware". However, as I told him, I'd read all that online and the problem was that it was NOWHERE on the computer, including on the device manager list. He left me saying that he thought it would be a matter of just replacing the CD drive piece, but that part spins and works, and from everything I've read online, it's a hard drive issue and I'll likely get it back completely wiped. :headache: Which, since I had to have the whole hard drive replaced last summer for a similar disappearing webcam, I know what the procedure is to recover, but...

Hope you all have a great day:hug:

Thanks, you too! :hug:

****************************************************
Ugh, felt like a lot of running around yesterday, but today should be slower. My neighbor was able to get a one class teaching job at a local community college, so today she was going in for her HR/computer orientation. Her older son (who babysits for me) is home, but her younger son is dying to play with my kids, so I expect him any time and will sort of be watching him - though I was told I could send him back to his brother if I need to go somewhere. :rotfl2:

Then, I do think I have to take the kids to karate today, but that's not until later. D's just now in the shower - his trip was not early morning, but he'll be gone until around dinner time tomorrow night. I don't feel as desperate for the alone time since I had all evening Sunday to myself, but it'll still be nice. :rolleyes:

I have a blood draw tomorrow to check on my thyroid levels (chronic thing, no big deal) and a hair trim on Thursday, but that's all good. :) Pshew - normalcy!

Hope you all have a fine, fun day! :goodvibes

Good Morning !!! Another long day yesteday !!My relief was late sooo didn't get home till almost 1 a.m:scared1:I have a full day ahead of me at work , scheduling problems , doung job interviews etc !!! But I am OFF second job till Friday and I ain't taking anymore hours:lmao:

I agree with how busy it has been !!When the kids go back to school and Judy is at her NEW job I am secretly taking a couple of ME days off !!If I let Judy know she will PLAN them:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I have to let Carol pick her Trading pins we ordered today as she has been on vacation, I must have done good without her as I had to call her twice which means so far no big Goof ups made by me :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Have a great day , will chat tonight!!:hug:

Sorry about your puter dying! That stinks. It amazes me that I am always caught completely unaware by the computer deaths. I always promise myself I'll back up, etc. etc. :surfweb:
Hope your day was good!

I counted 1-4 as a win when Abby was playing! Of course, I counted it as a win when she got the serve across the net! :rolleyes:

Yes, it is! SD has Varsity tryouts in the morning. For the first 3-4 games last year, I also counted over the net! ;)

Poor thing. Not sure if this is relevent but Gus had the same issue last month, rapid strep was negative, he couldn't shake it and it turned out to be MONO! :hug: Hope she feels better soon!

How's Gramma?

*******************************
Hi everyone! :wave2:

Not much is going on here. I had a good visit with Dr. Seigel (as I mentioned above to Janet). Long, long overdue!
Today I hit the gym early, NB left for CT, SD had his physical for Varsity Tennis tryouts tomorrow and now I'm home and trying desperately to find the bottom of the pile of bills/papers/stuff that is living on my desk. Ugh.

Tomorrow I think I'll hang out at home and then let SD take my car to Varsity tryouts. (Weird Weird Weird) I really hope he makes it. He's not sure he will but I know the competition is pretty stiff this year. I'd hate for him not to do it though, now that he's finally (FINALLY!!!!) found his niche. You know? :confused3

Going to make Chicken Mushroom Quesadillas for dinner. I am craving Brown People Food!!! LOL. I bought guacamole (please don't shoot me, T!) Someday I'll be good at making it, but the specialty market does it better!

Did anyone watch RHWofNJ? Teresa's kids are HORRIBLE. I'd die of shame if my children acted that way in public. Yuck. Just goes to show you why us American's have such a terrible reputation around the world. Look at how they let them behave in PUBLIC and in ITALY. :mad: Not to mention, how the HELLO do they afford a trip to Italy when I'm clipping coupons so I can afford NAME BRAND cereal. :confused3:sad2::confused3

Ok, done ranting. LOL.
Have to post a small advert. Sorry, but I really want to get rid of these and I'm going to post them over on the Rent/Trade board but wanted to be SURE you guys don't want them.
DISNEY FANS!! I have 44 DVC pts. available for use by 6/1/2011. Will check availability for any resort, but can only book SSR past 3/10/2011. Want to get rid of all 44 at once, $10 per point. Gotta sell them or move on with my trip. Posting to Disboards rent/trade on Saturday Aug 14th. Thanks!!!

So, how are you guys?
Mel:banana:

How did she make out?
Good! She's excited that she gets to dance more towards the front now that she's an officer and she's even more excited she was pulled to do a special part. She also showed the director her solo and was really complimented on her growth in the last few months. :banana:

Your trip is so close! Have fun and take lots of pics! :cutie:

Mel:banana:
Ugh. Can't he wait until October 4th when we're back from Disney? No appointments so close to our happy place! :headache:

I'm so excited that you got good news. I agree with what NB said about that sitch. :rotfl: Tell SD "good luck" from Carl and I'll chit chat with you tomorrow. Mom has the kids until mid-afternoon, but I still have to do B's camp trips. :sad2: Then we have dinner with the mommas tomorrow night and a squad party for C. I'm tired!

Nighty night, all! :flower3:

Good Morning, Fockers!

Today is the first day of Varsity Tennis tryouts. SD is very nervous.
Send your good mojo here!!! popcorn::

Nothing else of note today. It's hot. It's humid. It's summer in Michigan! :rotfl2:

Huh. Not much happening today yet. :) I go for the blood draw after lunch, and need a Target run, too, but that's about it.

Hope you all have a wonderful day! :goodvibes

He's really only played doubles because that's what JV plays. I think you have to play singles if you make varsity. :confused3
The issue is this: He wasn't the BEST JV player, though he did get "most improved." Coach says that they don't let seniors play JV though. The competition is pretty stiff in Varsity and basically he HAS to make that. Coach did say that she could go to the Athletic Director and get a special "dispensation" of sorts for him to play JV if he doesn't make it. She said she'd be willing to do that for him.

Meanwhile, he has Wed, Thurs, Fri this week and next to get through or cut. That's a huge amount of time to practice to get cut. Poor Kid. :hug:

Just an FYI, those internet desks at Best buy/Circuit City only wipe the hard drive because its the easiest way to go. there is no reason you should ever have it wiped unless the actual drive is malfunctioning. KC worked at one of those desks for a while and they do that because it takes less time. At least you are under warranty but I hate to see people who have to pay for that when it isn't the problem to begin with.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
HI all!
Still kinda sick, i think we are FINALLY at the tail end of it. KC is much better, a sort of cold is left for him. I am on day three of a new antibiotic thats only one pill for 5 days. So far its making me feel worlds better but its knocking me into coma-like naps every 4 hours or so for a few hours at a time. I'm taking it because its better than being awake for 3 days straight.
Not much else is going on because i haven't been out of the house except for a run to 7-11 or the corner store for some eggs.
Hope everyone is great!
