Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

Hey Strangers!

My life is a bit stressed right now. Sorry for the absence of updates.

JANET says Jimmy had a visit from the tooth fairy. Jim submitted his resume to several schools at a job fair.
Good luck to Jim and congrats to Jimmy on the 'Student of the week' awards.

CE is trying to get back into a routine.

Sounds like you are finding the groove.

TAZ should be back from her trip today.
I hope all went well for you!!!

ROSIE came through her operation fine.
Good to see you are doing well. I like the Troll story.

JO did rubbish golf. She is blaming it on conversation. Her carpets will be in on Wednesday.
Talking can be very disruptive. ;) I hope the carpeting looks great once it is in.

T is a Fed.
:cool2:

KAT is a Fed too. Although they seem to be having some issues getting the ball rolling on the census thing.
Very strange and frustrating. That's my work too - hurry up, wait.

Z is still resort deal hunting.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya'.

ANGELA says she feels better knowing that she is not the only one that believes her mom and grandmom are nuts. Mitch is in my neck of the woods right now.
Poor Mitch. We've had some tremendous storms the last couple of days. Buckets of water - lots of lightning.

V says that Leo’s celebration is in a week.
:cheer2:

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I thought I'd jump on here this morning real quick. I have to work tonight. I'll get back to bed in a little while.

Last week I had to drive Doug around. I worked 2 of my nights off. I got very little sleep. He had a seizure that affected his right leg and foot. Things were just super busy.

Doug's tumors are still growing. Not a lot but enough to be noticeable. They want to start chemotherapy this week. He will be getting a anti-nausea, Avastin and the chemo intravenously every 4 weeks. This will take 3 hrs. The insurance approval is holding up the start though. Of course, I am supposed to work the next 3 nights. That means on Wed or Thursday I will have to use FMLA with no pay to stay home with him.

I did manage to get the oil changed in our truck and my Kia on Sunday. :woohoo: I'm becoming a regular mechanic. :rotfl2: I think that saved me about $40 total. Plus we use synthetic oil. The shops that use it double the price for it.

My job is becoming my nightmare. I don't want to go into details but I can't afford to be hurt or dead at this point in my life. I'm going to have to have a meeting with my department manager which won't be fun.

Also, I was planning a trip to Ohio to visit with Rockie and the gang this next weekend. Just me, I need to get away for just a few. I mean it's been all work and Doug. My summer will be crap due to working OT pretty much every weekend after June. However, if Doug reacts badly to the chemo. that won't be happening. He said he would stay with his mom while I was gone. That'll work if he is not too bad. I'll still feel guilty for going. I told Rockie I'd let her know Friday morning if I was coming or not.

I wish I had some better things to talk about. Sorry!

I'll try to get back here before the weekend. I hope everyone has a great week!

Germany. I have no idea of the dates all of this is to occur which is probably better right now.

Understood:hug:

Whilst he's on active duty, it's free. :thumbsup2 Of course I have to go 8 times a month or I'm dropped. I need that kind of motivation.

That's a great deal:goodvibes

I have had a terrible headache all day. :headache: Actually broke out the real Coke in the hopes that that would help. Not so much, but at least I can veg and not feel bad. Laundry and cleaning take no time at all. I am trying to decide if I should iron the handful of Mitch's clothes that need it or wait until next year when he comes home because they will all need to be washed again. :confused3 I was asking my BIL what he thought, and he was all, that's not something I would have ever considered. :rotfl:

Men:lmao: No help:sad2: I would bother ironing then...but wait I don't iron anyway:rotfl2:

Hope you're headache went away:hug:

We desperately need new windows. A friend tonight at baseball, too, said that she reinsulated her attic last winter and things got a LOT better.

WE got new windows just on our first floor and it made such a difference:thumbsup2

after getting the snake out! Luckily it was small.

:scared1::scared1:

WEll, I guess on the plus side it wasn't a gator:eek:

Wednesday :thumbsup2

THat was fast!

Good morning. Phillies lost to the STINKING Cardinal's, the Flyers lost to the STINKING Bruins. It was not a good night in our house:sad2: I got to work at 7:30 so I can leave early because we are going to the Phillies game tonight.

Other than that not much going on. Hope you all have a good day:grouphug:

It's 7am and I have washed both comforters that the cat threw up on, put water and chlorine in the pool after getting the snake out! Luckily it was small. I was supposed to do something with a friend today, but she didn't call. Now I want to go to the Y, but the lady that handles the military applications wasn't there yesterday, and I forgot to ask what time she was going to be there today.

I was awakened this morning by my dog puking on my bedroom carpet, what's up with that? Sorry about the snake, hope you got to the Y! :goodvibes

I wish I had some better things to talk about. Sorry!

Oh, Kristel. I'm so sorry. :hug: I can't imagine.

Good morning. Phillies lost to the STINKING Cardinal's,

:banana::cool1::rotfl:

Sorry. Ahem. ;)

*********************************************************
Good morning!

Woke up just before the alarm, as I mentioned, to the dog doing some puking. Luckily (sorry, TMI) it was all liquid and easy to clean up. D had left the house around 4:30.

Anyway, even during my clean up and such, the boys didn't stir - we were kind of late last night after the baseball game, which took the full 2 hours for 5 innings. Great baseball, it's not. Point being, I guess, that after the first day back from vacation, they were worn out. So, I let them sleep in and drove them to school. Whilst I was there, I got the last of the math superstars (optional math program) that I grade, then went and got gas. I got home and then did the second day of the 5K program thing. Now I'm ready to veg. I have nothing going on until the kids have karate at 4:15. BLISS. :cloud9:

At some point over the next two days, I need to clean up the office. We think we're going to take a large corner desk that Deb's mom had in her house. Eventually, the guest room upstairs will be a kid's room (they share for now, but I - maybe as an only child - feel that they each should have their own at some point.) But, that will force the office downstairs (which is technically our 4th bedroom) to also serve as the guest room. We have a gorgeous and super comfortable queen bed for the guest room that was ours before we moved into this house, but it and any desk - let alone this big corner deal we're getting - will not fit in the office.

Not much of this is immediate, beyond getting the desk out of Deb's mom's house - the closing is 6/1. However, just deciding whether we want this desk turned into really right now having to decide about the future of the kids' rooms, guest room, office, etc. :eek: But, for now, we'll be fine if I can get the office picked up some. It's the kids' craft room, the catch-all, the "don't let anyone in there" type room. :scared: :rotfl2: Sadly, though, more than half of the stuff is D's training materials from the twice yearly recurrent training he does, and I can't decide on that, you know? :confused3

Good Morning Fockers !!
Kristel soooo sorry about Doug and your job!!! I know the feeling of having to work long hours just to stay afloat and get a Disney Trip or 2 in!!! Everytime I am feeling exhausted I just remember Disney and it is all worthit !!!

I went to my Family Doctor this morning just a 6 month check up !!She said my labs were great from the pre op testing but silly me didn't do the Lipids bloodwork that she gave me a script for waaay back in November:rotfl2:

While I was waiting my OB/Gyn doctor called we chatted and the upshot is I have to have Laser surgery down there with a specialist in Buffalo !! She says it's not cancer now but best to take care of it before that happens !!!Should be an out patient thing but I will be even sorer than the last time :scared1:So offer up a few prayers for me please!!!:worship:

You can't work again until someone calls? :confused3

Yep. Tech I have no idea who my boss, or crew leader, is yet. They may not know who i am. They will be the person I answer to in terms of where to go and who to see. They also have all the papaerwork that tells me these specifics and until i get a call or something I am stuck. Nice huh?

Hey Strangers!

Some :hug: for you and Doug! My mom and step dad were in a similar situation. He had several strokes and needed all kinds of cancer treatments, my mom always took care of him. I know she needed some time for herself that she never got, and if Doug's mom can be there for him then take a few days for yourself. You will probably be a happier person for it and able to take better care of him later!

Morning all. it's still morning for about 10 minutes. LOL.

Kc is working the 12-8 shift today. I am headed to the city around 3 or 4 to do a bit of shopping. I want a hamper the container store has, KC needs tees and socks, I need tank tops, and I am going to get the new Sookie Stackhouse book at some point too.

Before I go I need to call the main office for the Census and see if anyone has a clue, probably not but here's hopin'. I'd like to start working tomorrow.

We have a friend coming by tomorrow night for a KC computer fix and some pasta bake. He offers to fix PC's I offer to cook. LOL.

We are going to a really cool lunch spot on Saturday, it's all themed with Mexican wrestling stuff (Lucha Libre). We are going with some of my old wrestling friends for a slightly late Cinco De Mayo meal! I'm excited. it's nice to have weekends back again since KC no longer has to work 'em!

OK i need coffee!!!

We need new windows and a new front door with better insulation because our energy bill is crazy!
We desperately need new windows. A friend tonight at baseball, too, said that she reinsulated her attic last winter and things got a LOT better.

Add me to that list; my windows are so flimsy it's ridiculous. But after replacing the HVAC system this year, windows ain't happening for a while - I have a gazillion of them, so I'm looking at around $10K to replace. :scared1:

Everything is fine here !!Weather has been nice and I am cracking out the capris and shorts !!:banana::banana:
Ooo, finally - enjoy it! :goodvibes

Doug's tumors are still growing. Not a lot but enough to be noticeable...

My job is becoming my nightmare.
OMG Kristel, I'm so sorry! :hug::hug::hug: Way too much to be handling at once.

Also, I was planning a trip to Ohio to visit with Rockie and the gang this next weekend. Just me, I need to get away for just a few.
Yes, you do. No guilt; we all need to decompress to keep on keeping on! :hug:

::yes:: I can see five just from where I'm sitting here on the couch. I think we're at 20, not counting the ones in the basement - and one of them is a big picture window with two narrow ones to the side, so maybe it's 22? :eek:

:banana::cool1::rotfl:

Sorry. Ahem. ;)

How cold is it there? :eek:
We've had 3 hot weeks but yesterday was chilly, it's 48 here at the moment! Hope your headache went!

Jo I am glad your carpets are OKAY!!!!!!!
Thanks :goodvibes

Chilly day again today, I was wearing my capris to go to golf in but 5 minutes before I left I put pants on and I'm so glad I did :cold: I played OK, I was playing with the Lady Captain so was dreading it slightly but it was fine and we both played well :thumbsup2

I've spent the rest of the day clearing the lounge (still need to do the last big bits like the tele when D gets home) so should be ready for tomorrow :thumbsup2

:headache: THat's okay, we'll get them tonight;)

Nah... ;)

I see this ::yes::

I just think that it's hard to get any alone time - which I, for one, love and need - if I can't keep one or the other out of their room because it's theirs, too, you know?

Good luck fitting it all in :rotfl2:

Thanks. In the long run, the queen bed will either become one of the kid's beds, and we can move them around when we have company, or it will go. The office will have to get a nicer sofa bed. :confused3

Kristel: :hug::hug: and it's health to take mental health breaks to refresh ;)

Hi everyone! :wave2:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just a quick check in.
Am I the only one that DIS is going slow for? It's very annoying and I don't know why it's so slow. Whatever.
Nothing new here. Gonna have some peace for about 2 weeks when my mom goes to Puerto Rico this weekend! :cloud9: I love her, but it's good getting away from her...or her being away from me every now and then.
Still looking for a place @ Disney. What sucks is they sent me a pin, but it's only good 'til June :sad: if only it would've been good until Oct, oh well.
Not much new from me, just working as usual. But the weather has been wonderful and have gotten some nice beach days in, one of the perks of living in S. Florida.
Night all!
Ugh. Normal was nice whilst it lasted, I guess. :(
The power went out just after we got back from karate, and I hadn't quite yet got the water boiling for dinner. They wound up with peanut butter and cereal, respectively.
I have called our power company numerous times since, and they won't update anything except that I swear they keep adding MORE towns with power out, even though the storm has cleared out - now it's calm, clear sky, cooling down (at least that's true - thank goodness we don't need the fans and such so badly.)
It was a big line of thunderstorms and wind that did it, I guess. I finally decided at about 7:30 to start up the generator so that the kids, who had planned on showers, could at least brush their teeth (I have a well - no power=no water) but then the $*&@ generator wouldn't start. I finally did get it going, after they went to bed, as I still can't get any kind of time estimate from the power company on repairs. :headache:
Luckily, the generator can do about the whole house. I didn't turn on the circuit for the dishwasher or clothes washer, and now that I've fed myself, I've turned the stove and microwave circuits off, too. But, every time I turn on a light, I hear a different hum, so... :rolleyes1
I'm just grumpy - I want an answer on how long this goes on, I couldn't get the stupid thing going when it would have been more helpful, I wanted a normal week... Sigh. I know there are worse problems, I'm just feeling sorry for myself. Sorry. ;)
Hope you're all having a better night! :grouphug:
Pshew. The power came back on around 10:00. I glanced out a window and saw the neighbors who are 2 houses over had their garage lights on - and they don't have a generator. That's one of the hard things - I have to turn off the circuit breaker INTO the house to use the generator, so there's no real way to tell if the power's back. Thankfully it was dark, so I could see the lights. ;)
The cable, both modem and TV, had gone out briefly, but it was just before I saw the lights, so I think it was probably that they were working on the pole and temporarily turned the cable off.
Anyway, now it's late enough to walk the dog (who finally perked back up around 5:00) and go to bed. Good night!
Hey all!
Just popping in to see how everyone is doing.
Kristel - :hug: I think it's important for your own sanity to get away. I'm sorry to hear about Doug's tumors. I'm sending you lots of good thoughts and virtual hugs!
Rosie - :hug: Sending you lots of good juju, as well!
Ok, I'm totally going to test my brain... I read back a few pages, but let's see what I can remember....
Jo - I'd be flipping out about the rugs. Ack!
Angela - Eek! on the snake! :eek:
V - Holla! :wave:
Kat - We are in full operation right now. Didn't your CL train you? I'd get on the phone now to find out what's going on. It's freakin' exhausting work, but the pay helps, IYKWIM. ;)
I know I missed loads... so sorry!
***************************************************************************************************************
I've been crazy busy this past week. Official Census follow up day was on Saturday and all my peeps hit the ground running.
My day is nuts.... I get the kids to school, come home, clean up, head out to meet my 2 team assistants until 11am, then I pick up Evan then I'm back to work to get my crap complete, pick up Maddie, finish my work by 4 and head out to meet my boss to turn in all my team's work. I'm usually home by 5 and then I put my "Mommy" hat on, make dinner, do homework, baths and bedtime. :faint:
Hats off to you working Momma's... you ladies are my heros! :worship:
OMG... I completely forgot about Mother's Day! I have no idea what to get TE. I usually get her something Disney, but I'm not sure I'll be able to squeeze a trip over this week.:sad2:
Ok... I'm done whining. Thanks! LY! :teeth:
we both played well :thumbsup2
OMG... I completely forgot about Mother's Day! I have no idea what to get TE. I usually get her something Disney, but I'm not sure I'll be able to squeeze a trip over this week.:sad2:
What about making up a gift certificate on the computer telling her you will take her to lunch at DTD and then she can pick out her own Disney something?
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
So, the Phillies won :cool1::cool1::dance3::cheer2: Ahem, sorry CE;) Jimmy had a great time and actually made it through the end of the 9th inning (Yes, they won in the 10th we missed that part:headache:) Oh well! He was so tired. We got home, got cleaned up and ready for bed, started to read a story and I think he fast asleep by page 3:lmao:
Jim has a game today, so we are doing catch as catch can for sinner tonight (meaning whatever floats everyone's boat when they are hungry)
Off to try and get some work done. HAve a good one all:hug::goodvibes
Proflowers.com. I ordered my mother and grandmother flowers although I forgot my mother is in Quebec. :rolleyes: At least my aunt is there to get them. :thumbsup2
It's supposed to rain although it's sunny now. :rolleyes: I've been trying to get all the silly little things that need doing done. Mailing back a bathing suit that my aunt forgot, mailing birthday cards, washing sheets, finding a dentist that takes my insurance. How exciting! ;)
Night all!
I am trying to figure out a way to get a few Disney days in in July if we make it to Orlando for the music festival thingie we wanna go to. Here's hopin. And man i wish they'd stop sending me pins!
Pshew. The power came back on around 10:00. I glanced out a window and saw the neighbors who are 2 houses over had their garage lights on - and they don't have a generator. Yeesh at least it came back on! We found out, the hard way, that the a/c and pc and vacuum cant be on at the same time, or the whole house blows a fuse. :headache:
Kat - We are in full operation right now. Didn't your CL train you? I'd get on the phone now to find out what's going on. It's freakin' exhausting work, but the pay helps, IYKWIM. ;)
Nope, the trainer was a CL from a different area. Apparently Brooklyn has like 8 CL's and I STILL don't know who mine is. I called and they sad they had no contact info for me, yet the CL who did train me had my cell #. Really?! So if I don't hear back by late afternoon I'm calling again to complain. I am huighly annoyed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I couldn't go back to sleep when KC left. I read my new Sookie book for a bit and decided the list of things to do was too much on my brain and I got up.

I did a bunch of shopping yesterday for KC, I got me a pair of sandals and a top tho.

I have to clean up the house today and make sauce. KC's friend is coming over for dinner and the PC fix. I am making a meaty pasta bake. I have a million little odds and ends to do too.

OH! I got a call back from that comic book store too! I have an interview on Thursday afternoon. :thumbsup2 I have a friend that used to work there and she said it was pretty lousy but I'm going to the int anyway. I also think they may pay off the books, so the pay may be really low, thats a deal breaker for sure, esp. since it's in the city and it cost $5 a day to get there and back. We shall see.

OK off for coffee and to knock out my list of things to do.

Hey Strangers!

TAZ should be back from her trip today.
I hope all went well for you!!!

I had a good trip. I will be doing a TR at some point.

I am so sorry things aren't better with Doug. :hug: You'll stay in my prayers. Go to Ohio you need to take a few days for yourself or you eon't be any good to anybody.

Good morning. Phillies lost to the STINKING Cardinal's, the Flyers lost to the STINKING Bruins. It was not a good night in our house:sad2: I got to work at 7:30 so I can leave early because we are going to the Phillies game tonight.
So, the Phillies won :cool1::cool1::dance3::cheer2: Ahem, sorry CE;) Jimmy had a great time and actually made it through the end of the 9th inning (Yes, they won in the 10th we missed that part:headache:)
Jim has a game today, so we are doing catch as catch can for sinner tonight (meaning whatever floats everyone's boat when they are hungry)

Off to try and get some work done. HAve a good one all:hug::goodvibes

I was happy about the first game not so happy about last night. I am a Cardinals fan. I do actually root for the Phillies but the Cards were my favrite team when I was a kid.

Understand the dinner on the run thing. Mine will be somewhat the same.

++++++++++++++++

Hi All. I read everybody's posts but forgot to do the quote thing on most and am really tired. I hope all are well.
I'm back from Disney and a little sad but also happy. I booked a trip for the end of October. Bounceback offer in the room. :woohoo: I will look for better offers before then. I am already under the 180 day mark so I have to start making meal plans.
I had a great time took over 2,000 pics in 5 days, I am slightly obsessed with picture taking. My ear held up fine, my mom and I didn't fight to much and it was really great having my aunt join us.

I am back to reality already. My grandson has a game tonight. I am so upset that I missed his game saturday he hit a single and a triple and did really grat in the field. I have to take my granddaughter to dance and T-ball parents have been leaving me messages all week. I told them I was away I don't think they listen. I need to get a field for a practice and games start saturday. I hate reality. :lmao:

Well I hope you all have a good day.

Proflowers.com.

This is where I ordered for my mom and MIL too!

It's supposed to rain although it's sunny now. :rolleyes: I've been trying to get all the silly little things that need doing done. Mailing back a bathing suit that my aunt forgot, mailing birthday cards, washing sheets, finding a dentist that takes my insurance. How exciting! ;)

Sounds like it will be productive though;)
