Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

My day is nuts.... I get the kids to school, come home, clean up, head out to meet my 2 team assistants until 11am, then I pick up Evan then I'm back to work to get my crap complete, pick up Maddie, finish my work by 4 and head out to meet my boss to turn in all my team's work. I'm usually home by 5 and then I put my "Mommy" hat on, make dinner, do homework, baths and bedtime. :faint:

Yikes!

Off to try and get some work done. HAve a good one all:hug::goodvibes

You, too!

I hate when the power's out. :headache:

The part that cracked me up was where I kept trying to turn on the basement lights. Everything else, I remembered, but I guess because it's always dark down there, it didn't trigger my brain.

It's just a hassle, you know?

Yeesh at least it came back on! We found out, the hard way, that the a/c and pc and vacuum cant be on at the same time, or the whole house blows a fuse. :headache:

Yep, it's just a pain to get things hooked up... And the generator's powerful, but can't handle everything...
Hope you hear something today. :hug:

I had a good trip. I will be doing a TR at some point.

Oh, good.

I was happy about the first game not so happy about last night. I am a Cardinals fan. I do actually root for the Phillies but the Cards were my favrite team when I was a kid.

Good girl. :) I went to my first Cards game at 4 months old. ::yes::

Is it 5:00 yet:rolleyes:

No, sorry honey. :hug:

Hi!

I have had an easy morning. I did go get a haircut (more of a trim, in practical terms, longer hair is better for tennis and the boat) but that's about it.

As some of you have seen on FB, today is the day my grandma is getting her feeding tube port put in. I don't even know if I told you guys that she decided to do it - the "just let it go and end" option would possibly have taken 6-12 months, and that would have been miserable. I think she decided in the midst of my book fair craziness, so I may not have mentioned it. She had to wait several weeks since the decision, and she's down under 100 pounds, now.

So, we're all a little concerned that she's not strong enough for even this procedure. But, truthfully, whatever happens will be OK. Sad, if it's not good, but OK. It's been a hard few years for her.

Anyway, good thoughts are appreciated, either way. :hug:

It's another 2 hours before she goes in - they should be there now doing the prelim tests and stuff - so I'll let you know when I know something.

D thinks he'll be home around 8:00, and we have nothing after school or anything. It's a gorgeous day - 68 right now and the blueist skies - and I'm in a pretty good mood overall. :goodvibes

:sad2:

No, sorry honey. :hug:

Well, can't you make it so:rolleyes:

Anyway, good thoughts are appreciated, either way. :hug:

Absolutely:hug:

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Beautiful here too, that's why I don't feel like working today:rolleyes1. The bad part is I really don't have anything to do, everything is caught up. I can get into FB and post, but the IT people blocked all the apps and stuff so I can't even play any games:mad:

Gonna have some peace for about 2 weeks when my mom goes to Puerto Rico this weekend! :cloud9: I love her, but it's good getting away from her...or her being away from me every now and then.
Enjoy :goodvibes

Pshew. The power came back on around 10:00.
Yay, glad it didn't last too long but what a pain!

:faint: How long is it for?

So, the Phillies won :cool1:
Yay.......... I think :rotfl2:

OH! I got a call back from that comic book store too! I have an interview on Thursday afternoon. :thumbsup2 I have a friend that used to work there and she said it was pretty lousy but I'm going to the int anyway. I also think they may pay off the books, so the pay may be really low, thats a deal breaker for sure, esp. since it's in the city and it cost $5 a day to get there and back. We shall see.
Good luck :thumbsup2

I had a good trip. I will be doing a TR at some point.
Welcome back :goodvibes

Is it 5:00 yet:rolleyes:
Yep :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

How dare they :mad:

My carpets are all laid and 2 vacuums later (I had to empty my dyson 3 times :rotfl2:) it looks so much better, honestly it looks like a different house :rotfl: The only bad bit was the carpet fitter kept calling me mate :mad: :rotfl:

The golf comp yesterday I came second and the lady I played with came first so pretty good going oh and have you all seen the volcanic ash is causing problems again :sad2: They say it could be around all summer :eek:

:rotfl: But I'm glad it looks good.

D read somewhere that the last time this volcano erupted, maybe 100 years ago or so?, the active eruptions lasted for 4 years. How much does an ocean crossing cost?

Oh, and my mom called about a half hour ago - they only took my grandma in for the surgery just then. So, still no news. One of the surgeons (they hope to do it endoscopically, but have a regular surgeon on call, too) had to do an emergency appendectomy, so there was a delay.

Let me know how she is doing. I deal with this on a daily basis---feel free to use me as a resource if you or family have any questions about what feeding she is getting and the amount, etc.

And I vote NO for volcano ash.....:mad: Better clear up by June.

Hey all!!!

CE: :hug: and hoping everything goes well for your grandma

Kat: sucks about the census stuff, buy :woohoo: on the interview hopefully it works out.

Janet: yes it's so hot outside

taz: welcome back! It sounds like you had a great trip.

Jo: new carpets do make a room different :goodvibes Sucks about the ash, I didn't know it was still causing problems (then again I hardly see the news)

T: I'm with Janet, I'm :faint: just reading about your day.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well not much here. I had plans to go out for some yummy Ritas today, but all my friends cancelled on me. :guilty: Oh well, guess it's for the best.
The good thing is I got to leave early from work so I get to relax....hmmm there's Corona's in our fridge, maybe I can still celebrate on my own!
Z, hope you can find some fun! ;)
Got a call from mom a few hours ago. Everything went mostly OK - they couldn't get in with the endoscope, but she was heading for recovery and the tube is in. So, we'll just have to hope that it helps and that she doesn't have complications arise. Thanks for all the good thoughts. :goodvibes
Probably until right before we leave for WDW...say mid-June-ish.
My carpets are all laid and 2 vacuums later (I had to empty my dyson 3 times :rotfl2:) it looks so much better, honestly it looks like a different house :rotfl:
Ahhh... I love the smell of new carpet. What color did you go with?
And is calling you mate a bad thing? Or just disrespectful?
That stinks... but at least you have Corona's! I got hooked on Stella Artois and I'm all out. Boo!:headache:
Hi All! :wave:
Hi, T! I thought of you this morning. I'd written an e-mail to D's stepmom to see if they were OK with the flooding in TN (turns out they got nearly nothing in their area.) Anyway, she's started her census door-to-door and told a story of one of her co-workers finding out the "sex" of an occupant when he decided to show her visually. Nice. :scared: :rotfl:
Anyway, she's been assigned to her rather tony planned community, so she's not in much danger of too much crazy/scary.;)
*********************************************************
I didn't think we were supposed to get rain until the weekend (naturally :rolleyes:) but woke up this morning and it's cool and cloudy. No desire to be up, but... I have fun tennis in a bit, but other than that, nothing too pressing. D got home as I was reading to the kids last night, so maybe there will be some bathroom work done!
Hope you have a great day! :grouphug:
You leave for your cruise soon.....excited????
Janet: yes it's so hot outside
Going back down to the 60's here this weekend :sad2:
You too!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Morning all. Another busy day/evening here. I got here at 8 so I can leave at 4. TOnight is Multi-Cultural Night at Jimmy's School. I am going to meet Jim at home, pick up Jimmy, grab some pizza for dinner, and then head over to the school.
Multi-Cultural Night is really cool. Each class is assigned a country/culture to do a project on, then they make toys or some other thing from from that culture, and then the parents prepare food for that country. (THe upper grades each child does a project) Jimmy's class did Hawaii 1 so I got off easy I bought a bunch of pineapple:rotfl: ad they made some leis in class.
The kids all get a passport and as they visit each table they get a sticker to fill their passport. Once the passport is full they turn it in for a drawing for some gift baskets.
It's interesting, the kids learn something :teacher: and have some fun. ;)
That's it for me. Hope you are all having a good day:goodvibes:hug:
I need to go to the Y but also need to take a bath first. Which, of course, is silly before working out. ;)
Just a drive by because I need to get ready for my interview and then i'm headed for lunch with KC since ill be in the city.
No word from the census people yet. :confused3:mad:
MyMuse and I are going to throw a Vinylmation Trading event in NYC in June (hopefully). If you guys know anyone who would wanna come here's the Thread Info. Thanks!
Happy Thursday all!
Was he Australian????
Nope, from Essex I think, that's a county/state :rotfl2:
Wow but lots of money :thumbsup2
Creamish in the lounge and a bit darker for the hallway/stairs/landing and I just don't like being called mate :rotfl2:
Not according to CE;) LY CE!:hug:
Good luck!
Busy day, first I loaded the car up with old carpet etc and went to the tip, then I did the grocery shopping and on the way home stopped to vote (it's our big general election today, fingers crossed the Prime Minister gets outvoted) I then did some ironing and entered more comps. I won another today, it's tickets to a golf show worth about $140 not sure if we can go though as D is working :sad2: But I'm sure I'll find someone to give them too!
I have just been called to have my dinner, it's pasta and sauce that Ells made at school today, hope to see you later :rolleyes1:rotfl:
That is grounds for being thrown out the city ya know:mad::mad::rolleyes1
I have been booed at a few games when I wear my St. Louis shirt but so far they have let me stay. And the Phillies beat us again last night. :sad1: I don't hold out much hope for tonight with Halliday. I do root for the Phillies any other time if that makes up for my indiscretion. :laughing:
I don't know how old I was when I went to my first cards game. I do remember being very little and going out to pick up my dad at work and then going to the game. He worked a couple of blocks from the old Connie Mack stadium here. We sat way in right field and rooted for the cards. My brothers were the outcasts of the family, they only rooted for the Phillies. :lmao:
I am so sorry about your grandmother. It is such a hard thing to go through. Hope all works out well. :hug:
That sounds like a real fun interview. :eek: I probably would have laughed. I have had a census worker at my house for the last 2 days when no one is home and they leave the call back info blank. Yesterday I was gone for a little over an hour at noon and that was when they came. Don't they realize that some people work and aren't home during the day?
My kids did something like that one year. I got them to choose Poland and Germany. It was so easy. I bought a couple of boxes of chrusciki and made spritz cookies. They had to pick a country of origin and they were the easiest.
Hi all. It is so hard trying to get back into my normal routine. Of course 2 of the grandkids are sick so that are nice and cranky. I am trying to sort through 2000 pics right now and that was only 5 days. :scared1: I am also in planning mode. I booked a bounceback for October and then I have the BIG trip. My whole family is going next August. They are already asking me to plan the dates and figure out the approximate costs. I think I am more excited about that trip than I have ever been before. Five of the grandkids have never been to Disney.
The weather has been nice but I think that's changing. It's windy and the sun keeps disappearing.
I see the dermatologist today and I know she is going to be a little upset about my sunburn/tan, I had a weird "freckle" removed 2 years ago that turned out to be a mole that was just on the verge of becoming cancer, I used block so there's not much she can do. I have to go for a full body scan every 6 months for about another year and then it will be annually. I fully urge every one to do a self check. If I hadn't caught the subtle change on my own I would be dying right now. OK off of my soapbox.
Hope you all have a great day.
Essex is around the corner from me. So is Sussex and Canterbury. I actually live on Wessex. :lmao: I always joke that I am from the Philadelphia version of England. All the streets around my neighborhood are counties in England.
I hope your election works out the way you want.
That's great! I would pick dates and give them an "idea" of cost with the caveat that it is subject to change depending on any deals Disney may put out ::yes::
