Morning! I'm having a hard time staying on track with replies - I'm sorry!
Thanks for the well wishes; I started in on school reading last night and it was actually kinda nice. I'd forgotten that I'm mostly down to the classes on topics I actually enjoy, lol!
Our SW trip plans just keep evolving (I need to email you T)... we're back to June, as soon as Leo gets out of school. I kept reading that crowds at the Nat'l. Parks in July are the worst and we aren't crowd people. Plus, we've decided to focus more on Utah and it's freaking hot up there. A 10* difference between June and July could be a big deal! It looks like this (for now):
Fly into Vegas and drive to Grand Canyon (maybe a night in Williams first, depending on when I book flights).
3 nights Grand Canyon
Drive to Monument Valley - 1 night.
Drive to Arches - 1 night.
Drive to Bryce Canyon - 2 nights.
Drive to Vegas 1-2 nights.
Fly home.
About our WDW weekend - we had the most amazing AK day Sun.! Yes, it was hot but it didn't seem so bad as in early July. Maybe I'm just used to it by now. But we got there at opening and went to the safari first - saw every animal possible, including the newborn elephant who is so cute it makes you cry! Leo was finally tall enough to ride Primeval Hurl; I needed muscle relaxants after.

Rode Dinosaur, did the Tiger Trek, saw Flights of Wonder and had lunch at Rainforest Cafe.
We checked into CSR and hit the pool. Leo's now conquered 5 of WDW's resort pool slides.

I LOVE the new CSR rooms! So much nicer in person than in pics.
Leo conned me into the MK that night... it was PACKED and rainy. Blah. We managed dinner at CHH, HM, POTC and BTMRR before calling it a night.
Mon., we got to MK at opening... despite Leo jamming his car door into the truck next to us. Oh SNAP!

He dinged it pretty good. I apologized profusely to the owner and went to get pen and paper, but he left for the tram. I left a note on his windshield with my number, but we haven't heard form him, so I'm hoping he'll just let it go.
Poor Leo couldn't let it go, though; he worried about it all day.

We did do all our favorite rides, except Splash which for some reason he didn't want.

Had lunch at Pinnochio's, and ended the day with ice cream on Main St. Know that little brick alley off the left if you're facing the train station? If you park on a bench over there, eventually you'll hear the music and dance lessons coming from the windows above that say "Music and Dance Lessons"! Very cool, and new to us.
As an aside, I'm on a very, very low-carb diet right now. Long story, but it's thyroid med related. Anyway, trying to keep low-low-carb and eat cheap at WDW was interesting. I never want to see a salad with grilled chicken again.
In all, it was a nice little getaway. I'm glad we went! s
