Hey ALl!

Mel - good luck! I own 3 weeks of other timeshares (not DVC). It is convenient, but takes some of the sponteneity out of travel....since WDW is NEVER spontaneous, I say go for it!

Mo - good luck with Namath. :( I hope he's OK.

V - Welcome home! BRASIL! BRASIL! BRASIL! (I just thought you were missing wdw).

I am still sick. DD and I both have 102 fevers, she is coughing, and I feel like i got hit by a bus. Fortunately, DS is well and at school.

Everyone else who is sick: FEEL BETTER!! Sick = not gud.

Jo - Enjoy your bangers and mash. ;)

KAt - good luck with your disability. That stinks. :(

CE - keep us informed about FLa.

Oh, and TE - START PACKING!!

ps - Ed - BOOK YOUR CAMPSITE! they're selling out!

This is just like a forced savings plan...and I probably spend more than that a month on lunch out and pedicures! Oh, talk me down Fockers! :scared1:
You've come to the wrong place to be talked downf rom any WDW-related purchases Mel! ;) FWIW, I view my DVC the same way - when I ran all teh numbers, I'm spending less each year in interest and annual dues than I would have on hotel stays. Once the principal's paid off, I'm golden.
I think his biggest thing right now is the "living in Florida" bit. He really likes winter (crazy, I know ;) ) and seasons and so forth.
That's a big one. We do get a good handful of cold days, but it's nothing like a NH winter, that's for sure! What does he like about it? Winter sports (Skiiing, sledding, etc.) are about 8 hours away in northern GA and NC.

DId they change the time of year they visit. July was brutal the one time we went. THe tour groups were everywhere, and it was during World Cup:scared1:
I wondered the same thing. I've been to WDW in mid-late Jan. most years and never seen it like this. LL was there over MLK weekend last year and said they weren't there. :confused3

Aww, man, Heath Ledger died! I liked him. :sad2:

CE, I heard about Heath as well. I was so shocked that when they announced it on the news I screamed "What!!!????" :scared1:  at the tv. I was just so shocked.

Me too. I had the same reaction Lessa. Actually my news lately is online (I just don't have time for TV unless it's recorded) and I had seen his pic, but I thought he had gotten an Oscar nod or something and then later on they changed the headline saying he was dead and I went "What?!?!?" and read the story. I had the same reaction over the weekend too when another young actor (mostly independent film work) Brad Renfro died too. So sad. :sad2:

I have been sick...:

Feel better Angela. :flower3:

Ok, we are back from the Vet...

So $908 later I really don't know anything. All results should be in by tomorrow afternoon.

Oh and using FDM, since I charged it on the Disney Visa, that $908 turns into $45 Disney dollars with the special that Chase is running with earning 5x the rewards through March. At this rate Namath will pay for my August trip:sad2:

Oh Mo  I know how it feels waiting for results on the furbabies. I hope everything comes out with the tests. Good way of thinking about the expenses though.

Hi all, I'm back!

Welcome back V!

Yu-up, that pretty much sums it up for me, too! :rotfl: Glad I got to see you Z, if only for a couple minutes!

It was great to see you too! And Leo is so cute, I didn't want to scare him by ambushing you .

But I will comment on a couple things that annoyed the heck out of me and dramatically affected our trip:

1. Brazilian tour groups. Brazilian tour groups. Brazilian tour groups. They were everywhere, hogging up lines and food places. they weren't particularly obnoxious, but made for an excess of people in otherwise uncrowded parks.

2. Cheerleaders. I checked into ASMu and found our room... next to a giant tent full of cheer competitions. I was worried, but there was no ill behavior late at night. They also added to crowds in the parks, though.

::yes:: but especially the first one. OMG they just invaded WDW over the weekend (no wonder there were no rooms), honestly it was worse than when I went in June. Some were annoying. :sad2:
The cheerleaders seemed to mostly be from colleges, but weren't as bad as the tour groups.

OK fockers!!!!!We leave on Sat for our trip. I cant believe its almost here. I have to pack!!!!

Theresa have a wonderful trip!!! :wizard:

Well, everyone, I think we're going to take the DVC plunge. What's weird is that I've been trying to talk DH into it for 6 years and I'm the one who's apprehensive. Just worried about committing to a 300+ monthly payment. D's job is good but that's a commitment. I don't know why I'm so worried. We go every year, and I scramble to find the OUT OF POCKET money to do it. (which is in a lump sum) This is just like a forced savings plan...and I probably spend more than that a month on lunch out and pedicures! Oh, talk me down Fockers! :scared1:

Ooooh! popcorn:: I have nothing to say, except as long as you can afford it and you're already taking yearly WDW trips then why not? I still haven't watched my DVC DVD that I ordered, but we did get wrangled into a timeshare shpiel this weekend and if I were financially able to do it, I would. Have you looked into other timeshares? The one we got dragged into said you could stay at the Disney resorts as well as their other 5 million ones worldwide and you'll eventually own the timeshare as opposed to DVC. Don't know how true this is, but just a thought. Good luck!

Mo- I def know how it feels to spend tons of $$ on the "babies" and I;d do it again every time! I hope everything turns out for you and your fuzzies.

Today marks 6 days till we leave. I am trying to find new things to do to kill the time, but frankly I am so bored I could spit! I just have to finish all my packing today. I mostly have to fit things in the suitcase and try not to over pack for myself (:lmao: ) Then I'm going to make some stuffed pork chops for dinner. KC says he is anniv gift shopping today after work (our anniv is during our trip) but we'll see if he remembers.

Anyways I';m off to do something LOL. Have a good one one all!

Hi Guys! :wave2: Stoppin' by for a quickie - I haven't been able to catch up on much, except for Namath & Mo. Still thinkin' of you, Mo! ;)

I hope everyone who is sick is better, soon!

Everyone who's leaving for WDW - have a magical trip! :wizard:

Everyone who's just returned - welcome back to reality - it bites! ;)

First I would like to thank all of you for your well wishes and good thoughts...

OK, the radiologist agrees his kidneys should not look like this, but it could be from an infection and there is indication in some of the early lab work that there is an infection present. All the blood and other lab work is not back. So we are going to start him on a very strong antibiotic tomorrow (Bonnie who is absolutely wonderful is going to pick it up in the morning and get him started on it at lunch time) Once the rest of the lab work is back next week,we will decide if we keep him on the antibiotics or go for more testing:headache:

One thing the radiologist suggested was maybe toxins, and then I remembered that when he was a year old that he was exposed to lawn pesticides because some dump a$$. I raced him to an emergency vet who did flush his system but who knows now:confused3

SO more waiting and no clear answers:mad:

I appreciate all your good vibes, thanks to all of you:grouphug:

FOCKERS RULE!!!!!!!!

Yea,,I second the first question.
Mo, it sounds like you might be getting closer to Namaths health issues. I hope hes o.k,,,

First, let me say how glad I am that you guys aren't pushing Quaaludes! :rotfl2: You are NOT very good "talking out of it" people. But, I think I'm jumping in with both feet! DH is saying DO IT DO IT too. So, tomorrow I will call my DVC "guy" and tell him to go ahead. Then we wait for the "approval" and numbers. He said I can have my member # and make reservations this week if it goes according to plan. I'm SKEERRED (as Goofylvr would say):scared1:

Mo- Hope that Namath improves and that you find the answers you want. :lovestruc And thanks for the offer of help. I'll be PM'ing you when I have a question!

Is everyone else good? Jo's gone off to bed now, I'm guessing. She doesn't drink tea?????? BAH! She's not English! :sad2:

I have been wondering where DM is too. She's strangely absent.

And thanks again for all the well wishes on the eye thingy. It's doing pretty good today. Still red, but no weird stuff. Poor little N was home today with a sick tummy. He made me paper airplanes all day!
He's too darn sweet.

Hope everyone is having a good night. I am going to get me a glass of wine. I think I've earned it today! Care to join me? :confused3
