I think this group would appreciate the recent experience I had. I know we all love a good Disney trip. I always tend to feel like I want to travel someplace exotic but Mother Nature has her own theme parks aka National Parks. I got a good reminder of how incredible they are.

I helped chaperone my daughter's high school orchestra tour. Her teacher tries to alternate years between a more expensive travel tour like NYC and closer to home bus tours. This year they went to check out Canyonlands and Arches National Parks before a music clinic at a nearby junior college. I hadn't been to either national park since I was like a teenager and really forgot how incredible they are.

There are plenty of camping opportunities though for this school trip we just stayed at a hotel in nearby Moab. We also had a chance to do some mild but still very fun white water rafting, something I've never had the opportunity to do before and now highly recommend.

Anyhow if you are looking for a different sort of theme park camping experience I can't recommend Arches and Canyonlands enough. Though like theme parks a lot of these national parks are also having more and more crowds. April was probably a good time. A little cold in the mornings/evenings but also probably less crowded.
What are your favorite National Parks you've visited? I am thinking I need to prioritize visiting a few more.
