To those that have snow, woohooo :yay: :rotfl:

Yeah, yeah... ;)

As some of you know from FB Ellie got the school she wanted :yay: It's the same one Jess goes too! Her friend next door though only got her 3rd choice!

Said it there, I'll say it again: WOOHOO!!!!! :cool1:

Played golf today, a free courtesy round at a club we're playing on Wednesday and David has said I've got to tell you all that he beat me :rotfl:

OK, tell him congrats... :upsidedow

I need the instructions for adding Wii friends.....and type slowly.

I just had to share that the amazon.com excerpt thing that I'm reading now has a character named Lessa. :goodvibes

OMG...something has happened that I never thought I would see happen. They shut us down because of the snow :faint: Yes, I got a SNOW DAY :woohoo: :woohoo:

 Enjoy your snow day!

Mornin' ladies. Today is the big day. We find out if the doc will clear Jon for our trip in a few weeks. Everything is resting on today for whether we get to go or not.

Hope everyone has a beautiful, happy, healthy day.

 Jen! Keeping my fingers crossed for ya!

Here is a (kinda) funny missing wallet story:
Several years ago, dh and his bff were going golfing. They were on a busy 4 lane road when they saw money flying in the air. They decided to pull over and get whatever money they could. I can't remember how much they got, but I think it was just about $80 and there was more that they could not get - that flew away or was in traffic. They thought it was their lucky day, but then dh saw a wallet. He said he looked at bff and said, "Aww man! A wallet." They were disappointed because now they knew how to get in touch with the owner. :rotfl2: The wallet had a driver's license in it. So bff calls his wife to look up wallet owner's phone number. They called the wallet owner and told him they were going golfing, when they were through, they could meet him and return the wallet. They told him how the money was flying in the air and that they couldn't get it all. The guy lived near where the money was found. When they met him later, his wife was with him. He stayed in the car and the wife got out to get the wallet. She told them thank you, but the guy never even looked at them. They thought that was rather rude and wished they had kept the money.:rotfl:

That was rude and just very strange that he couldn't get out to pick up his own wallet.

We have snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay:

:woohoo: Enjoy your snow day!

Hope it goes away soon.

It did. Thanks! :goodvibes

Ooh, cool! The closest I ever got to a snow day for work was when we lived in El Paso and they shut everything down because of a sandstorm. I got a sand day! :lmao:

:lmao: I've had a few snow days from work. Once when I was younger and worked at a grocery store they told me not to come in. And the second time was right after I had had Lindsey and was about to go off maternity leave. I was so sad I had to be going back to work but we got this HUGE snowstorm and I was delayed an extra day.

Well, we have at least a foot, and we're just in a lull. They are saying possibly 7 more inches before it's done - combined with 20-30 mph winds. Fun.

It's March, for pete's sake.

Gah.

D is happy, of all things. I am not. :rotfl: If we hadn't had any snow this year, maybe. But here we are, back to 6 snow days with today. :sad2:

I want to say curse words. :rotfl2:

The kids are really done with being home. It's not like they're doing anything too awful, but the last few days have just been really loud, rough, hyper... It's time for school. Hopefully we'll be OK for tomorrow.

Luckily, it's also pretty cold, so the snow stayed light and dryish.

I had to cancel my physical for today - more just because I didn't want to have to get out and snowblow in time for it. I'm sure I could have made it out, though it's still coming down hard.

Anyway, I'll do some more reading. D is heading out to snowblow now (at least he's home) and he's dragging the boys out to play as it's not that windy yet.

Hope you all have a great day! :grouphug:

I would say enjoy your snow day but I know you are sick of them! LOL But really, have a good day.

only about 4" this time

We are supposed to be in the 70's this weekend.

 Lucky Ducky!

Yesterday was Cah-ray-Zee! SD had a friend over till about 2 pm. I made eggs, toast, hashbrowns and sausages for bfast and we sat around watching tv for a while. Then I had to drive to the "far away grocery" and buy my meat for the next two weeks. Gus was bored and bugging the **** out of Bob to do something with him. It's almost zero degrees out and he wants to go fly a kite at school! WTHeck???? So, I told them when I got home from the store I'd take them to the gym to swim. So, I ran home, put away the stuff that need refridgeration and then took them to the gym. I stopped at the other grocery store on the way home for the things that were going OFF sale today. Then home to make burgers and potato salad for dinner. After I watched the race and Bob gamed with the boys.

This morning I got everyone off to school and Bob decided to work from home. I went to the gym and managed 2 mi on the bike and 2 mi on the treadmill. Gassed up the car and came home to make Bob and I a pot of coffee.

I am all caught up here, so I'm going to enjoy my coffee and read for a bit till I have to get SD.

LY all.
MEL:banana:

Your right...your yesterday does sound crazy! Glad your having a good morning.

Not well.
:sad2: He's just as frusterated as I am. shes not bothering me too much though. You would think she would wash a dish or 2 once in a while!! she doesnt seem to be in a hurry to get back home to her kids or her outpatient program. shes just hanging around talking on the phone, smoking, (outside) on the computer looking up all sorts of stuff. she had the bright idea of wanting to go to the homeless agency in RI so maybe she can move down here...:sad2: I'm NOT driving up to Providence for that. then she looked up info on homeschooling Mackenzie, 7, she quit H.S!! got her GED. (i think) huh?
shes just clueless. :sad2:
Steve asked if Pat was coming today to pick her up. no,,,,snow storm..he said, she can walk.:rotfl2:

Sorry DH isn't handling it so well. :( Do you think its her meds that are making her like this? I know she has to be on them, do you think maybe she's still getting used to them? It must be a hard situation all around.

As some of you know from FB Ellie got the school she wanted :yay: It's the same one Jess goes too! Her friend next door though only got her 3rd choice!

Yay to Ellie! And Yay to David! (Sorry Jo!)

I was thinking of you this morning. My dad had left some sports show on the TV this morning and I was to lazy to get up and turn it off. But this one guy was on there talking about his daughter and her golfing ablilites and how basically she was bad. It made me think of you and Jess though. LOL

/
So do 2 bowls of Cholate Chip Mint ice cream count as lunch? I'm addicted to this stuff and couldn't help myself. I'm actually sick to my stomach right now from eating it but if I wasn't I would probably go for a third bowl.

Oh well, I gotta save some for the rest of the family. :rotfl:

I get so frustrated with her, I suppose it's because she's my DD :rotfl2:

Thanks. Yes, I am. I think I might have handled it better if it hadn't come after a week off school anyway, you know?

So do 2 bowls of Cholate Chip Mint ice cream count as lunch?

Umm, sure, why not? :)

Is it an Anne McCaffery book? That is where my name came from. :cutie:

No, it's for that amazon.com contest where they asked me to review 10 page excerpts of unpublished novels, to help pick a winner for their Breakthrough Novel Award. I get a Kindle if I review all 40 samples by next weekend. :thumbsup2

I would bet this author is a fan, though - it was a fantasy story.

I have to say, some of the samples have been great, and I'm sad that I can't read on, but some are so horrendous as to be comical. I know we all make typos and skip words from time to time, but if you were submitting a book to try to get it published and win a contest from amazon.com, wouldn't you at the very least use Spell Check? Read it again to make sure you aren't missing words or putting in many, many run-on sentences? Learn and know the difference between "capitol" and "capital" if it was going to figure big in your story?

I've sat here and yelled at the screen, I've been so frustrated with the errors. I'm one of those readers where, if it's good, you can't get my attention for anything, but a glaring error stands out and just pulls me right back to my messy family room - not a good thing. :rotfl:

And some of them are just not good stories, but that's another issue. :rolleyes1

Sorry, rant over. :rotfl:

I got on here with my phone. What luck I have ... Broke my laptop, now our new desktop is in the Apple hospital!

That made me giggle.

 to Katt and Kat

Gracias!!!

We ate at Outback. They have updated their menu. I had beef loin with crab stuffed shrimp and green beans. It was so good. And the Wallabe Darned wasn't too bad either. ;) I paid and told her it was the least I could do since I have a screw-up for a brother. ( I actually called him something else.)

I have been dying to eat at Outback lately. We have one sort of near by, we need to take a bus there, so we rarely go. I am dying for that bloomin' onion!

A headache just hit me all of a sudden so I think I'm going to lay down on the couch and snuggle with DR. He just woke up and is a little gumpy still. Its absolutely FREEZING today so it'll be nice for that snuggle.

Have a good Monday everyone!:goodvibes

I plan to spend the day staying warm on the couch too, snuggling with my kitty!

My thoughts are def with you guys!!!!

HI Kat! We're dying over here waiting to hear if you got the apartment! Don't worry, I'm cranky too....;)

I'm slowly figuring it's not gonna happen. KC is holding out hope, but me not so much. I plan to email today and see whats what.

Congrats on the school! and :lmao: @ David for needing us to know he won!

I need the instructions for adding Wii friends.....and type slowly.

Are you talking for Animal Crossing or just the reg adding of the wii code so yuor mii's can be in each others wii???

+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+

This snow just stinks. It's cold and yucky in here (for a change). I plan to spend most of the day on Animal Crossing (big shocker huh?). Nothing else really going on. I have leftover chili I am going to bake under some corn bread for dinner. I really have nothing going on until Thursday so it's sure to be a cranky week of waiting around and boredom. Meh.

I'll be around today for sure.

:rotfl:

When did SC get an "upstate?" I don't remember that term being used until the past few years? :rotfl2:
It's always been the Upstate. I used to live in the Upstate.
So do 2 bowls of Cholate Chip Mint ice cream count as lunch? I'm addicted to this stuff and couldn't help myself. I'm actually sick to my stomach right now from eating it but if I wasn't I would probably go for a third bowl.

OMG - that sounds like something I would do.

I don't have Animal Crossing, so I guess the other option.

I so agree CE, I reread my MP answers but even then I'm sure some don't make sense :rotfl2:

Congrats on the school! and :lmao: @ David for needing us to know he won![/COLOR]
I know :rotfl2:

Those are awesome snow pics, Janet. Reminds me of end of January here! How much did you end up with?

It's cold here today, but no snow. But I think I did see some 60s later in the week! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

So, I spent all morning at DD7's school, working in the literacy room. We're organizing the leveled reading books and creating a check-out system for the teachers. It's a lot of work. I left there just in time to run home, change clothes, grab a bite to eat and then run off to pick up DD5 from preschool and head to the Y to workout. Now, I'm home, showered, and ready to clean my house and finish laundry. Did someone say vacation??? I need one!!!

I have to tell you a funny story that happened to me this morning. Sometimes when I get to DD5's preschool in the morning, the doors aren't opened yet. So, I brought a book along with me this morning to read while waiting in the parking lot. After dropping DD5 off at school, I was headed to the bank to deposit some Girl Scout cookie money. I just missed the turn light, so as I was sitting at the light, I pulled out my book. Well, I wasn't paying attention to the light and it turned, so the person behind me honked. As I made the turn, I realized that there was a sheriff right beside me and he turned on his lights. :scared1: That's right, I got pulled over for reading at a stoplight!!!!:sad2: He told me that it was dangerous to read and that I was just as impaired as a drunk driver. Of course, I did explain that I wasn't reading while driving and that I was sitting at a pretty long red light, but oh well, I got off with a warning. I'm not sure what he would have written a ticket for anyway.... let's see, reading while sitting in your car..... is that really against the law?? Funniest thing is that the sheriff that pulled me over looked to be all of 18 years old. Of course, he had a gun, so I did call him "Sir." :teacher:

Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoying their snowy Monday!

:scared: :upsidedow :headache:

We didn't get it. The guy called and said his daughter was renting it to a friend she works with. Then why list it for other people? I gues they were holding out to see iof this friend wanted it.

Back to Animal Crossing, my gates open if anyone wants to come by.
