Team Focker Watch Chat Part 5.5: The Less-Cursed Version

Hi, all, just a drive by and I'm hopelessly behind again. We spent all day yesterday at our friend's house - our fave playgroup friends were watching our 2nd fave playgroup friends - the kids of my friend who's in Ireland with her sick mom.

At any rate, then we went to the health club for their annual member bbq and games. It was fun. Then we came home and watched Olympics.

I am hoping for the best for Fay - it should be mostly gone by the time I leave on Wed., I hope - but I hope that V's house is good and that it's not too bad for anyone.

We are off to play tennis - it's raining yet again. We may go see The Clone Wars (despite terrible reviews - the kids are into it) after. I hope all who are sickly are feeling better, and that you all have a great Sat. :grouphug:

I'm not sure if I should be more concerned or what?
Neh. Wait and see what happens with flights - that's your only concern and I don't think they'll be messed up much, if at all! :thumbsup2
I have zero experience with tropical storms/hurricanes, although remember Lapufest last year? That was like the worst rain I'd ever seen in my life!
::yes:: Remember me driving in the previous night's version of it? To POR? Deja-vu.... :scared:

You are joking, right? Wait ... wait ... the mental picture is just to hilarious!! :lmao:
Sadly, this is 100% TRUE! Last time it looked like we'd need to evacuate, Gramma flat-out refused and told me she was staying - in the bathroom - with bread and PB - and the cats. I told her what the police tell people who refuse to leave here: "Here's a Sharpie. Write your name and SSN on your arms and legs so we can identify the body after the storm."

Let me know which one Gramma will be in so my mother can have a friend with her! :rotfl2:
OMG, we'll be eligible for a group rate at this point, between your mother, mine, T's, and my friend Char's! :lmao:

Fockerfesters - Faye is going to turn left ::yes::
:lmao:

Well, so far, I've written half of my final paper this semester, filled the car with gas, bought emergency supplies (flashlight battery, shampoo and color-care conditioner), swam laps and cleaned cat yak. I'm considering a trip to Sears with Gramma to get Leo a slicker, in case of rain at WDW. Speaking of which...

The good news with Fay is that if she pulls north before FockerFest, she should also pull a bunch of moisture with her, leaving us rain-free! ish.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Am I the only one who finds this hilarious and completely "V" ??!! Because you know, no emergency kit is complete without Color-care conditioner. :lmao:

Stupid storms..don't they know I'm trying to fly outta here come monday morning!? Jeez.

Finally got my hands on Breaking Dawn today. I think I am going to save it for the trip though, May be holed up in the hotel room or airport for a while. ;)

Now we need some pixie dust and prayers sent our way. My DH has decided to start his chemotherapy treatments for the brain tumors before we go to WDW. Needless to say I'm not happy but it was his decision. It will be the pill form - Temodar. 28 day cycle. Sound familiar ladies? Only 4% of the people that take it have bad reactions or bad blood cell counts. He will start on the 25th of this month. He takes 640mg at night on an empty stomach for 5 nights. They gave him some anti nausia med. also. Then he will start a 2nd round on the 22nd of next month after blood tests. There will be another MRI and more blood tests in October before he visits the dr. again on the 16th. Hopefully they will see some shrinkage in the tumors. Side effects are very minimal for most. I just hope he isn't in the 4%tile. The week it would show would be the week we are at WDW. :sad2: We don't know if radiation will follow at this point. Please keep us in your thoughts.
Morning all I see some need hugs so here are hugs for all    . If you don not need one now, save it I am sure you will need it at some time. I was gone all day yesterday. We got up in the morning and headed to Kalamazoo to get our new cell phones. I even got to change my number and ditch the telemarketers. We got the new Instinct. I think I will like it but it is a big change from other phones. Dd is off to start her Las Vegas vacation with her Grams and I have my to do list set for next week. I want to make sure my class room is all set before school starts. P had her last day on Thursday. Her parents tried to make me feel bad about not watching her next week and I set them straight on how I felt about them taking her from my care like it was no big deal. I can not believe they would stay on at a job for an extra week after being fired if it would loose them a new job. This way I am not coming home from vacation unemployed. I am going to rearrange furniture today. Bug wants his train table in the living room now that P isn't here. Hope everyone has a great day.
::yes:: I once heard that Bangladesh offers terrific medical and is a great choice for cheap retirement! The fact that it's on the other side of the world is just icing on the cake. :rotfl:

Bangladesh, got it. Now has anyone looked into group rates?;)

she said it said:
CRAPPITYCRAPCRAPCRAP!!!!!!!

mom going to Bangladesh said:
listening to Gramma tell me she won't evacuate - she'll just hole up in the interior bathroom with a loaf of bread, a jar of peanut butter and the cats. :headache:

Oh no she didn't, but I'm gonna guess she did
Bob is not feeling better.
Fockerfesters - Faye is going to turn left ::yes::

Just tell me Jim Cantore hasn't showed up yet!

So do you have sharpies on your hurricane preparedness list?

OMG, we'll be eligible for a group rate at this point, between your mother, mine, T's, and my friend Char's! :lmao:

Hey CE...LEt me know how the boys like Clone Wars, Jimmy wants to see it...

We ended up putting it off until tomorrow or the next day - too much tennis and swimming today. But I'll let you know!

Sadly, this is 100% TRUE! Last time it looked like we'd need to evacuate, Gramma flat-out refused and told me she was staying - in the bathroom - with bread and PB - and the cats. Oh, no... It's so NOT funny, but it is, you know?

That would be nice.

All right, ladies.

I have been tearing up off and on all night.

My grandfather (you know the one - lung cancer, falls, etc.) headed to the ER Wed. night because of having (sorry, TMI) blood when he goes, if you KWIM.

Yeah, so now it's colon cancer, too.

And the only way to stop the bleeding is to do surgery. He wasn't deemed healthy enough for lung surgery, so this is a total crapshoot (ha! Sorry.) as far as whether or not he'll come of the table, but if they don't do it, he'll bleed out.

The surgery is Tuesday.

Who is leaving after me on Wed. (7:00 a.m. EST)? Because if I'm not coming to FL, I want to let someone know. Of course, I do have cell numbers and so forth. But still.

I don't want him to have these issues for so many reasons, but really the timing just stinks. ;)

Oh, and it's too late to buy trip insurance, once the trip is paid for. I'm only out $200, though, if I have to cancel.

I see that Kristel's DH is doing chemo, and I am so sorry. Cancer sucks. :headache:

Yea Ma'am.. CANCER SUCKS... My dad had lung Cancer.. ( Cigarettes) nothing could be done with his type. MIL.. ... Bone Cancer... Nothing could be done. But they have made some progress there. Mom had Mouth Cancer and survived..

Sooo Sorry hun:hug:
I had a "flatt Katt" Pic. FINALLY... but .. we will not worry about that now. But I will lift your family up in Prayer and put you on the "Prayer List" for Peace and comfort.. and yes for healing.

CE  Just call me if you need anything:hug:

Thank you so much. It's fine, and he could come through with no issue. I just don't know...

Nope, send her on. I am being optimistic, and thanks so much.

He had lung cancer circa 1994, cut out 1/3 of his right lung. Then bladder cancer, he has a urostomy. (sp?) Then the lung cancer again in 2004, treatment, waiting, then a recurrence of growth in May of this year. So he's hung in for a long time. It's hard to say. Then my poor friend in Ireland, her mom is much younger but waited too long and the cancer is everywhere and her MOM (not grandparent) will be gone in a month. It just stinks.

Hurricane Policy

A good thing to know. :thumbsup2

Yep, thanks. The CM I talked to was so helpful about "rescheduling" though I'm not there yet. I figure I could use the TS if not "family emergency."

CE, I'm so sorry! I'm thinking of you and your family and sending lots of good vibes!

 to ce and kristal . that is so hard. sending positive vibes your way:goodvibes :goodvibes
