Flat Rosie has been travelling, she went back to her Birth County of Suffolk :thumbsup2

She checked out my Dad's pool first, it was a hot drive up there :rotfl2:

009-1.jpg

She got into a bit of trouble and had to be rescued :rotfl:

010.jpg

The cheeky thing then pinched Jessica's bikini top!

011-1.jpg

The next day she went to the beach, she got buried in the sand, then relaxed on a towel!

069.jpg

A few days later she went to the most Easterly point of England :thumbsup2 It was very windy (that easterly wind is strong) so she had to be held down, she didn't want a dip in the North Sea ;) :rotfl2:

115.jpg

And finally she saw the largest wind turbine in the UK, I don't know how she contained her excitement ;) :rotfl2:

113.jpg

She's back in Kent now, waiting to go to WDW in a few days time, she is slightly worse for wear and a little covered in sand and had to have her shoulders cut off :eek: :rotfl2:

I must say I had a good time! Sorry about the stealing of the Bikini top!!:rotfl2:

Hi Rosie. :wave2:

Hi::

SOunds like she had alot of fun.

I sure did !
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Good Morning all. I got a phone call from my mom last night. My dad is back in the hospital. No idea what is going on, but if I could get some Focker prayers it would be greatly appreciated. All I know is he went in with chest pains. I hate being so far away:headache:
[/QUOTE]

Sorry about your Dad!!:hug:

G-luv....

Still breathing! :rotfl: Got my reading DONE and I'm settling in to watch my Future Husband #2, Michael Phelps (Anderson Cooper is Future Husband #1. Yes, I know. I don't care - he dresses nice. ;) ) Tomorrow I'm back to school mode and it'll be a day of resaerch and note-taking. :crazy2:

Have you ever Been to Busch, Sea World, or UNiversal During Christmas Breaks or Spring Breaks ??

Sorry Katt, I haven't. But the reports you got form others don't surprise me - Xmas isn't an especially busy time for us as far as tourists - ours hit closer to Spring Break. I'd avoid EVERY park then. That said, what Sea World and BG have going for them is lots of wide open spaces, allowing crowds to move freely wihtout being on top of each other. Also, most attractions are shows that seat 100's at a time, keeping wait times to a minimum.
I've NEVER been to Universal/IOA! :eek:

THat's a Big help guys... ( Hoping that rings true after Disney's little rate hike)
We have Busch here in Va.. and we were thinking of getting their "PLatinum pass this fall.. and be able to go to Busch, Water Country water Park HERE... PLUS... ALSO Be able to use the same Ticket for Busch and SeaWorld In Florida..
We have never gone... and right now we have NO DISNEY TICKETS.. so doing a NON Disney Vacation sounds GOOD and Different.We may get AP's again... but that would not be till Late Summer... Maybe "Fockerfest":rolleyes1 Even though Jo says she is not going:snooty:

ALso the 7 Day 2 park Deal ( EVEN THOUGH THAT TICKET WENT UP TOO:headache: :headache: ) for 100.00 a Person... also a Cheaper Vacation than Disney.. and a Different Park.

Trying to look at new stuff for next year.. I realy really want a beach trip... and we NEVER get to do one when we do Disney.

We were thinking of doing a US/IOA trip over Christmas, but it just wasn't in the budget this year. Plus for Jimmy there is not that much there in way of rides. Your kids are a great age for it though. Lots of Coasters:thumbsup2

:crazy2:

I give you alot of credit for your discipline V:thumbsup2

Stealing????
The bathing suit top. Remember? Although, I'm wondering why she didn't need the pants. :confused:

Dad update: Just spoke to mom. He is in a room and comfortable. Not as in as much pain as yesterday. Cardioligist has been in to see him and has ordered some tests. He must be feeling better becasue he threw my mother out of the hospital and told her to go to work.

Mom said he is more concerned about getting better becasue we will be coming down soon.:sad2:
I'm glad he's comfortable. I hope they get answers soon. :hug:

Well, I woke up bright and early this AM to cart myself off to the walk-in clinic. And I have....

STREP THROAT???

Where I got that I have no idea. The doc said Jon's throat was very red (the other day)...but attributed it to his drainage and cough. :confused3

But, I can't bring illness into the house so I have to get treated too. So, I"m on antibiotics. No wonder I feel so bad. Not a real fever...just headache and body aches and a swolen throat. They strepped me though and it came back positive. :confused3

Whatever. Jon's on antibiotic and so am I. Don't come near me people...I'm a carrier. ;)
:scared1: Yikes! I used to get strep all the time until I got my tonsils out. Feel better! :hug:

Well, was it as good for you as it was for me? :rotfl2:

Actually, mine didn't go well - my bath's stopper wouldn't work :confused: so I had to come downstairs. It's not awful, but it's not MINE, ya know?
:lmao: I'm not good at taking a hot bath anymore, I guess. I had to get out becuase I was sweaty. Not refreshing at all. :sad2:

I must say I had a good time! Sorry about the stealing of the Bikini top!!:rotfl2:
See, Jo? Rosie knows what she did. :rotfl:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We just got home from seeing mom. She looks good and she now has a room the kids could visit in. Of course, K and all three kids sat and watched tv the whole time we were there and didn't talk to us hardly at all. :sad2: Goobers.
I'm tired, so I'm going to get the kids in bed and chill for a bit. :goodvibes
/
Janet, I'm sorry - I only just caught up. I'm glad your dad's feeling better - you're all in my thoughts! :hug:
Ack, I hate strp throat! BUT, you should be feeling much better super quick with antibiotics. :thumbsup2 I'm not a fan of antibiotics nromally, but it made my strep pain go awya in about a day, so it has its uses. ;)
Whoops! Have a good night!
Wait, does it need to be non-parks, or just non-Disney parks? My ideas, in no particular order...
Universal/IOA
World of Sports (never been, but might be worth chekcing out for half a day?)
mini-golf
Dinosaur World
Gatorland
Outlet mall
Celebration
Movie (at DtD or Celebration)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Okay, I've got one paper done, a bunch of reading and a second paper to research. I'm in lock-down mode. :surfweb: See ya'll next time I come up for air!

Gatorland looks interesting.....

Thanks to you V and everyone else for the good ideas. I have to consult with the boys who just now are realizing we ned some plans! DOH!

They may go to medieval times but on the day of FF so i'm totally over that!

A quick hello! Not sure if anyone is up anymore, but I am. I didn't go back and see what was happening, but it looks like Janet needs a hug:hug: . I'll have you in my prayers tonight.

So the 08.08.08 PARTAY was a BLAST! I haven't been around THAT many crazy (drunk) adults in a long while. There was singing, swimming, eating and drankin had by all! I was hung when I finally woke up at 11:30!:eek: I had to get my butt out of bed and head to my "dad's" Pow Wow (Dawn your flat attended). It was truly an amazing experience, watching the Pow Wow! Very Cool!

I'm off to bed, I plan on reading the DIS, until I fall asleep. Nighty, night!

Dawn - Happy to hear that your mom now has a regular room that you guys can all go visit in.

Jen - The 08.08.08 party sounds like a blast!

Good Morning all. Lessa were you up that early, or still up:eek:

Today I have to finish up some laundry and then we are heding to a friends house for a Meet your PreK class pool party. The kids should have fun.
I also am running to Kohl's, I have $40 Kohls cash burning a hole in my pocket and a 15% off coupon! Shopping:thumbsup2

HAve a great day everyone:goodvibes

Ugh. Is the university back in session yet, or is it still slow time there?

Nope, the frosh move into residence on the 1st and then classes start a week after that. So I have three more weeks to relax and then work will get busy again.

Sorry guys - I can't stay and catch up, MUST write papers this weekend. But I wanted to stop by and say...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATE!!!! :hug:

Sorry Kate, I missed your birthday, I hope you had a blast!

Hi V
The newspaper www.orlandosentinal.com has a calendar section every Friday you could check out. Maybe the Titianc at the Science Center or there's a Norman Rockwell exhibit somewhere, Friday nights there are movies in the park where you can bring your blanket & picnic, or anything V mentioned, Universal, Gatorland, shopping, etc. Samantha Brown on the Travel Channel did a weekend here non-park related. Maybe the website can give you some ideas too. What are your non-park days again & I'll let you know if I see anything.

I was too was going to suggest Winter Garden ( I think that's where SB went), looked like a nice area to spend a quiet day.

I've NEVER been to Universal/IOA! :eek:

V!!!! Leo would love the Suessland at IOA.

We just got home from seeing mom. She looks good and she now has a room the kids could visit in. Of course, K and all three kids sat and watched tv the whole time we were there and didn't talk to us hardly at all. :sad2: Goobers.

Hopefully she continues to improve:hug:

I think I posted last week Murph was feeling lousy, she thought she maybe starting with Fibromyalgia, I suspected Lyme. Well are her blood work came back negative:confused: I hate that, the not knowing. So her DR referred her to a rheumatologist, who can't see her until November:headache: . I called mine even though he has a closed practice, they are going to see her mid September. In the mean time though she feels lousy and is so achy.:sad1:

Yesterday we did go to lunch and see Mama Mia, lots of fun, though the Broadway show was much better. And let's just say Pierce Brosnan's voice left a lot to be desired, actually I think my ears bled a little:eek:

Happy Sunday Fockers, I'm still tweaking my Plan for Fockerfest:sad2:

:rotfl2:

I am originally from SC - near Myrtle Beach and I lived in Greenville for 3 years.
when did u move? Yesterday? Cause I missed part of your life somehow!!
I would have called you! I stayed at College Park near airport in a tiny tiny Microtel.
Didn't get to tour any---got caught in a giant thunderstorm during rush hour traffic so pretty much sat in the road and said "wow, there's atlanta........there's atlanta again............still in Atlanta! ;)
Oh Janet! I hope it's nothing serious. :hug:

Ok all this RN talk has good me quite confuzzled. :faint: Here in CA RN's are starting at 70K. The program I want to get into doesn't require any college degree, thankfully - as that would take me forever to get into. One of the larger teaching hospitals in the area would allow to come in on their LVN program and then bridge to their RN program. They would pay me a salary and pay for my schooling. Not a bad deal, eh? Only thing is you have to contract with them for 5 years after becoming an RN. I'm ok with that as they have a Trama center and a Birthing Center and those are the 2 of the 3 departments I am most interested in.
I say move to California, Lessa. ;)

I've worked in hospitals in CT, TN, TX, NC, SC and VA.........and only a nurse practitioner would make that money. But the southern states cost alot less to live in. 45-50K would be a good wage and that's with shift diffs. The teachers here start at 28K tho---I believe that's below the poverty guidelines. In TX, they started at 36K.

Well, things to remember when tubing:

1. Avoid rocks
2. Raise your hind end whenever you see a rock.
3. Do not raise it too high or you will flip onto said rock.
4. Cursing at rock does no good........rock will retalitate by placing tree branch in your path.

But I made it! 7 miles down the Holston River! It really was fun--some moments of just lying back and watching clouds, followed by moments of rushing down stream and holding on! The girls loved it. We were all blueish when we got out though--60 degree water from the mountains! We had to jump into a hot shower just to get feeling back in our fingertips! And this is August! Imagine after spring snow melt!

My butt hurts this morning............dang rock.

Gotta make 80 ham biscuits for my Nana's 90th birthday party today.

Dawn--glad your mom got in a better room.

Janet--how is your dad today?

Mo---my mom has fibro and my dad has RA---both were hard to detect at the beginning. I don't think there is a test for fibro yet.:confused3
What are her symptoms? I'm not a doctor, but I play one on the internet! ;)

Jen--hang in there. Sick kids make us all frazzled but they DO get better.:hug: And strep throat? I thought only 12 and unders got that! BA had it 4 times last year----the doctor said just being in the wrong place and the wrong time....which was 4th grade apparently.

Maybe "Fockerfest":rolleyes1 Even though Jo says she is not going:snooty:
Sorry definitely not going next year, we've got to save up for NYC now!!!!

I must say I had a good time! Sorry about the stealing of the Bikini top!!:rotfl2:
Glad you liked it :goodvibes :rotfl2:

Tomorrow I'm back to school mode and it'll be a day of resaerch and note-taking. :crazy2:
Good luck!

The bathing suit top. Remember? Although, I'm wondering why she didn't need the pants. :confused:
Oh :rotfl2: And she didn't need the pants as she has no bottom :eek: :rotfl:

See, Jo? Rosie knows what she did. :rotfl:
:rotfl:

So it was fun then :rotfl2:

Lazy day today, been to Church (I thought I'd better as I'll be asking for Ellies school reference in about a months time :rotfl2: ) then Ellie and I did over an hours school work as she has school entrance exams in about 5 weeks time, did a bit of gardening, David is about to do the pre vacation grass cut when he can drag himself away from the sport on TV :rolleyes1 The roast lamb is in the slow cooker and smelling nice :thumbsup2

Sounds fun what's a pow wow?
It is a Native American ceremony with dancers, drums and native foods. We went to watch the grand ceremony, where they danced in the circle to the beat of drums. It really was beautiful. My "dad" is part Dakota Indian and over the last 15 years has done a lot of research on his heritage and takes Dakota Language lessons.
