Mo---my mom has fibro and my dad has RA---both were hard to detect at the beginning. I don't think there is a test for fibro yet.:confused3
What are her symptoms? I'm not a doctor, but I play one on the internet! ;)

Hey TE, no no actual test for Fibro, but I know my DR checks for certain blood level stuff when monitoring me.:confused3

The blood work she had done was for different viruses including LYME. She is very tired and her muscles ache, she mentioned yesterday she is not as hungry, but that could just be because of the other symptoms. Her regular DR has her taking anti-inflammatories at bed time. She does describe the way I feel when I go into a fibro flare, She even mentioned yesterday not being able to focus as much when reading a book, concentration issues are another Fibro thing I have noticed with me.

Has your Mom tried Cherry supplements, they really help me a lot, I have Murph taking them, well when she remembers.

It is a Native American ceremony with dancers, drums and native foods. We went to watch the grand ceremony, where they danced in the circle to the beat of drums. It really was beautiful. My "dad" is part Dakota Indian and over the last 15 years has done a lot of research on his heritage and takes Dakota Language lessons.
That really does sound fun :goodvibes

Has your Mom tried Cherry supplements, they really help me a lot, I have Murph taking them, well when she remembers.
Hope she gets diagnosed soon, how did they diagnose you?

i'll tell her--where do you get them?
She takes FibroCare that she orders on the net. I think it's Mg and other stuff. She was on Lyrica which really helped with the pain but she gained 17 pounds in 60 days and was having trouble concentrating at work so she is weaning off of it. They are starting her on Cymbalta now.

Hey all. I;m here but not for long. Nothing new on the Dad front. HE is feeling alot better and is waiting on tests/results. THnaks for all your prayers and well wishes:goodvibes :hug:

Actually after lots of tests when I was 16 with no answers, Dad found an article in the NY Times that described me perfectly, took that to the DR and he agreed and that's when I started seeing a rheumatologist on a regular basis.

i'll tell her--where do you get them?
Cherry Flex and I get them on line at http://www.brownwoodacres.com/cherryflex_softgels.htm,

It took about a month before feeling anything, has to build up in your system I guess. I take in each morning with some milk.

My rheumy will not prescribe Lyrica as he tried with some more severe patients and he said the only thing it helped with was gaining lots of weight:sad2:

:hug: Please keep us posted!

I need some advice: what should we do as far as non disney (:scared1: ) property stuff? We will be in orlando for a few days (4 or 5 ) with no disney park tickets (dtd is already on the agenda).[/COLOR]

I recommend Sea World. Make sure you hit the Shamu show. And sit right down front in the section that says "soak zone" with your camera out and ready. You don't get wet at all! ;)

G-luv....
I haven't gotten your flat yet. Did you send her out? I just want to make sure that nothing happened to her. I hate the thought of her wandering alone out there in the US Postal System....

MEL:banana:

Flat Jen went out a week and a half ago???? :confused:

OMGosh. She was sooooo cute. What happened to my flast Jen. :sad: She had a mini boa and everything. Nothing has come back. What should I do???

We just got home from seeing mom. She looks good and she now has a room the kids could visit in. Of course, K and all three kids sat and watched tv the whole time we were there and didn't talk to us hardly at all. :sad2: Goobers.

I'm tired, so I'm going to get the kids in bed and chill for a bit. :goodvibes

I'me so glad she's doing well. :hug:

I think I posted last week Murph was feeling lousy, she thought she maybe starting with Fibromyalgia, I suspected Lyme. Well are her blood work came back negative:confused: I hate that, the not knowing. So her DR referred her to a rheumatologist, who can't see her until November:headache: . I called mine even though he has a closed practice, they are going to see her mid September. In the mean time though she feels lousy and is so achy.:sad1:

Yesterday we did go to lunch and see Mama Mia, lots of fun, though the Broadway show was much better. And let's just say Pierce Brosnan's voice left a lot to be desired, actually I think my ears bled a little:eek:

Happy Sunday Fockers, I'm still tweaking my Plan for Fockerfest:sad2:

I hope Murph learns what is going on quickly. It is so horrible to feel bad and there is nothing you can do about it. :hug:

And I agree about Pierce Brosnan. :eek: The baby behind us in the theater (yes, someone brought an infant to a 10:00 showing :mad:) actually began to cry when he sang. :rotfl:

The good news is...I did get my copy of the sountrack from Amazon on Friday. And I blasted Abba all around the house while my family was here on Friday. They appreciated it so. Then Tera (meeska) kidnapped my CD while she went away this weekend. :rotfl: 5 hours of Abba in the car...me likey.

Hey all. I;m here but not for long. Nothing new on the Dad front. HE is feeling alot better and is waiting on tests/results. THnaks for all your prayers and well wishes:goodvibes :hug:

Keep us updated honey. Glad he's at least feeling better. :hug:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today is cleaning day for me. I decided to check in here first. I've decided to have a garage sale this next weekend...so I'll spend all week getting ready for that.
AND...I'm feeling halfway human again. :yay: The meds have worked fairly quickly. And Jon is finally almost himself again! :woohoo:
Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!!! :teeth:
I give you alot of credit for your discipline V:thumbsup2
Thanks, but before you do I have a confession... I'm stopping HERE before getting down to work! :rolleyes:
We just got home from seeing mom. She looks good and she now has a room the kids could visit in.
Glad to hear it Dawn! :hug:
Hi Mo!
V!!!! Leo would love the Suessland at IOA.
He did! :rotfl: Yeah, he went with his dad, but I've never been. :guilty:
Poor Murph. :hug: One other thought to throw in the internet diagnosis loop - Lupus? I'm unofficially diagnosed with it and go through bouts that sound a lot like what you described: achy, generally feeling "blah" all over, no energy and exhausted. RA was negative. They think my hypothyroidism is connected to an auto-immune disease, and Lupus sounded the most likely, so that's what I got. :rolleyes:
Well, things to remember when tubing:
1. Avoid rocks
2. Raise your hind end whenever you see a rock.
3. Do not raise it too high or you will flip onto said rock.
4. Cursing at rock does no good........rock will retalitate by placing tree branch in your path.
:rotfl2: Glad you made it TE! 60 degrees?!?! :faint: You're a far braver gal than me.
Lazy day today, been to Church (I thought I'd better as I'll be asking for Ellies school reference in about a months time :rotfl2: )
:rotfl: Jo you crack me up! You're down to mere days!!! :yay:
What a neat expereience!
Random Olympic thoughts before I dig in to research...
Dara Torres is my freaking HERO! :cool1:
How come the guys aren't all wearing the full RZR swimsuits?
Rather like the proverbial chicken/egg conundrum: Are all beach volleyball players flat chested becuase they play beach volleyball, or do only flat-chested women get interested in beach volleyball? :confused3
Orange is NOT a color in the Dutch flag. Team uniforms for the Netherlands are orange becuase it's the official color of the royal family. I looked it up.
Do the male gymnasts seem a bit more butch this year than previous years, or is it just me?
I'm sure I'll have more as the Games of the 29th Olympiad continue. :rolleyes:
But I made it! 7 miles down the Holston River! It really was fun--some moments of just lying back and watching clouds, followed by moments of rushing down stream and holding on! The girls loved it. We were all blueish when we got out though--60 degree water from the mountains! We had to jump into a hot shower just to get feeling back in our fingertips! And this is August! Imagine after spring snow melt!
My butt hurts this morning............dang rock.
:lmao: See... that's part of why I don't like tubing. When I was a freshman in college a bunch of us went and I was sucked off my tube and scraped my back on the bottom. I was bleeding throgh my t-shirt. Then there were people yelling that if you didn't get off your tube at the right spot you'd go under the low bridge and die. :scared1: I haven't been since! Now, the bridge is finally being fixed b/c a few people actually did die there every year. :scared1:
My mom has fibro too. I forwarded her the link fr Mo's cherry chews. Thanks, Mo! :goodvibes
Lazy day today, been to Church (I thought I'd better as I'll be asking for Ellies school reference in about a months time :rotfl2: ) then Ellie and I did over an hours school work as she has school entrance exams in about 5 weeks time, did a bit of gardening, David is about to do the pre vacation grass cut when he can drag himself away from the sport on TV :rolleyes1 The roast lamb is in the slow cooker and smelling nice :thumbsup2
:rotfl: We missed today. B slept in since she didn't sleep much at the sleepover. :sad2:
We to a nice little coffee house this morning for brunch, then headed over to swim at Schlitterbahn. I feel pretty good. I though I'd wear myself out, but 2 hours wasn't too much. :banana: Now we're all clean and relaxing. B has dance camp all week for 8 hours a day! :eek:
So, the younger kids and I are going to do a week of school without her so they can get a feel for it without having to share me. :teacher:
Have a restful rest of the weekend!! :goodvibes
Hello everyone!
I have been cooking and cleaning all day. We are having a going away party for my little "brother" who is leaving for Chile this week, to study abroad until the end of December. :sad1:
Dawn~ This week will be great for you guys! The kids will also LOVE IT!
Jo- How was your Roast of Lamb, Suzzie Home maker!
TE- Good Points to remember when tubing! :thumbsup2 Guess you learned the hard way!:scared:
Jen- Did you get much done? Be careful not to over do it too early after being sick!
Janet- Keep us posted.
:rotfl: Jo you crack me up! You're down to mere days!!! :yay:
I know :yay: I definitely think you need to come to London in 2012 :rolleyes1
Now, the bridge is finally being fixed b/c a few people actually did die there every year. :scared1:
OMG :eek:
Jo- How was your Roast of Lamb, Suzzie Home maker!
It was delicious, leg of lamb is absolutely gorgeous cooked in the slow cooker (I just add a little water before I cook and put it on for about 6 hours) it literally falls off the bone, so tender :goodvibes
I didn't tell you about my watch did I, I've got a Fossil watch which I love, it's stainless steel and has links, well I fiddle with the catch, clicking it open shut etc and it had worn down and kept coming loose. Well a few weeks ago one of the links fell off and I hunted everywhere and couldn't find it, so I kept the watch in my pocket saying I'd buy one in Fl (much cheaper) well I dropped it on the sidewalk and smashed the face :sad2: Then last week, yes I was still using it, the battery went, do you think it wanted me to get a new one :rotfl2: Anyway today I found the missing link :rotfl:
Ok there's no way I'm catching up over here, I just spent too much time catching up on the Focker meet page and I'm sure it'll take me longer to catch up here. :rolleyes:
Anyhoo!
Hope everyone's weekend has been going well.
Janet; :hug: on your father
Jen2: So glad you and Jon are feeling better. And funny about the ABBA thing on Friday as I was doing the exact same thing!!! :laughing: My boyfriend Downloaded the ABBA Gold album for me and brought it over to me on his flash drive and now it's on my computer! I love it!
Random Olympic thoughts before I dig in to research...
The swimmers & gymnast are pretty flat too. I say the 1st one. These athletes have like .5% body fat.
Hmmmm good to know! :idea:
How about, we have a lot of mixed nationality gymnasts this year. And how amazing was Sasha (who's real name is Aleksander or something) Amenotov (sp?) or whatever his last name was (I'm sure I'll know it by the end of the Olympics :rolleyes: ) on the Pommel Horse. That was freakin' amazing!
But there is a Japanses gymnast that would look like a woman if he had longer hair. :rolleyes1
As I said to Janet, Jess got a tent for her Birthday :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:
::yes:: She even promised a hose so we'd have running water:lmao:
So do you guys hate writing cover letters as much as I do? I am just not good at talking myself up and signing my own praises. :headache:
Janet glad your dad is feeling better.
Well ladies I am off to get some food. We are out of bread, milk, eggs, and DIET COKE. I can not live with out diet coke. I will go out in the middle of the night just to get a diet coke. I also need to buy some toilet paper. Nana's bff brought over a roll today. I think this is bad when guests need to bring their own toilet paper.
Hi I'm at the Laundramat again!! Steph is with me and I showed her Flat Rosie and she is jealous she wants to be FLAT!!:lmao:
Jo thanks for the sweet PM !!
nOW i'M GOING TO QUICKLY CATCH UP!!
I read your TR :lmao: No splash zone for me!
People still buy CD's???? I haven't bought a CD in years...I download EVERYTHING and I hardly pay either (sssshhhh).
So do you guys hate writing cover letters as much as I do? I am just not good at talking myself up and signing my own praises. :headache:
I HATE that stuff. Once we get back from vacation I am going to start to look for some part time work. It's hard for me because I have such a long gap since I worked I dunno exactly how to explain that!?:confused3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another uneventful KC-Works-From-Home day. Started watching "Californication" from showtime- FUNNY SHOW! And David Ducovny(sp?) is easy on the eyes too! I am about to try my luck at making crab cakes ...here's hopin'. Happy Sunday all!
