Janet - sorry to hear about your dad.

TE-why didn't you pm me about going to Atlanta? What are you doing on your job?

Hi everyone else!

Most hospitals will pay u to become a RN if you are working for them as a LPN. And then they will pay for RN to BSN too.

About $22 a hour is what my nurse friends made in the hospital. Not enough to relocate IMO

Sounds like a fun day Katt and beautiful poem :sad1:

Happy Birthday Sara

Thanks for the "note'
Errrr undies come in seasonal colours? :rotfl2:

Why yes Jo... There is Spring and Summer white... and Fall/Winter White:rotfl2:

Why can't I sleep? :headache: It's 4 days of waking for a baby, it's mucked up my sleep pattern!!!!!!!
:headache:
I would say hold on to that pattern to keep you up early for Disney... but you are already 5 hours ahead of the game anyway:goodvibes

 I am getting butterflies becasue my baby is starting PreK:sad2:
:sad1: I know .. I know... TRADE YA

:
Good Morning all. I got a phone call from my mom last night. My dad is back in the hospital. No idea what is going on, but if I could get some Focker prayers it would be greatly appreciated. All I know is he went in with chest pains. I hate being so far away:headache:

Today is cleaning and getting everything ready for the contractor and for packing--and waiting by the phone:rolleyes:

Have a good day FOckers

I know what that's like too hun. When we moved to Va. I was 4 1/2-5 hours away from Mom and Dad. That made 2 BAD SUMMERS... with a LOT OF MILAGE on that Old Caravan I had.

I'm glad at least that Ab realizes 18 is too young---she wants to see the world! (although she said marrying a really rich guy might help that dream some! )
Uh huh yeah right
The Eagles Wrote a Song about that situation... "Lyin Eyes"

Wow--that's a great poem!!!

Thanks TE.. It does seem to happen that fast doesn't it ?:sad1:

Mom got remarried to my now Step dad when I was 7----they have an anniversary on 8/16--33 years I think.
OHHH so that makes you.... ;) :rolleyes1
+++++++++++++++
We are going tubing on the river this afternoon which should be fun!

THat sounds fun .. I used to love doing that as a kid..
Uh.. until I was tubing one time and a Copperhead was crossing at the same place and way too close to the same time.

HEY KAT..... Are you and KC going "In-Line Skating today...?? They have a big Skating thing up there today don't they ??

yep---nurse practitioners make quite a bit more.

That was in TX......and it's the same here in VA. And they were CDEs like me so specialized. My theory is that women dominated professions do not make what they are worth!

Mary--I went thru Chatanooga instead of CLT.

Katt--thanks for the snake story.........really thanks a lot.........

I am confused, what is a nurse practitioner as opposed to a RN? Never mind, I am a dummy!

You know I live in Atlanta, not Charlotte.

Jo - don't worry about the sleep - you are leaving in 4 days aren't you? You'll have to get adjusted to another time zone.

Dawn--keep calling about a room change. It does help.
They just don't have a bed for her, it seems. At least she's getting extra care. It's jsut hard to not be able to talk to her, etc.

:lmao:

RN = Registered Nurse
RPN= Registered Practical Nurse (they do the nitty gritty stuff like change bed pans etc.)
BSN = Bachelor of Science in Nursing

;)
I've heard of RN and LVN! :thumbsup2

You know, TE, tubing's a big thing here, but I won't go. Maybe when the kids are older. B can swim, but the other two kids can't swim where they can't touch. So, I'm scared. It also doesn't help that I saw the river when it was in flood stage and people were drowning. :guilty:

We tube in the lazy river at schlitterbahn! That's still nerv-wracking. A doesn't want me to hold onto his life jacket and it moves so fast I can't keep up with him and C at the same time! :sad2: I swear, they go different directions. The big kids in tubes plow over them.

Have fun! Snake-free fun!

under 12 has to wear life jackets--and they are both 11 1/2. we can also tie them together if we want. But the river is pretty lazy--no white waters that I've ever seen! They have a shuttle service that takes u up the river and u float back to your car!

Sorry guys - I can't stay and catch up, MUST write papers this weekend. But I wanted to stop by and say...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATE!!!!

I have, I am going to apply to the two nursing programs here in my town, hopefully I will get into one of them. I am also going to apply to a one year pre-health program which is basically prep for the regular nursing program so if I don't get into the nursing programs straight out I'll at least get into that (hopefully:rolleyes: ) and you are guaranteed entry into the nursing degree program so long as you maintain a 2.8 GPA in all the pre-health classes (Bio, Chem, Math, etc). The stinker is that it is too late to apply for this fall as all the programs are full. At least I have a full year to work and save up money for tuition. I plan on applying right away once the application process opens up for next fall. Hopefully they won't make me wait too long on the decision as it is causing me much anxiety.
Sounds like a great plan.
I'm home. The short version is: It didn't matter too much about the drop mess up. The pressure is still 25 even on the new drop. He added ANOTHER drop and told me to have fun in Disney. I go back on Aug. 28th. I am sure I'm only on the drops till then so he could postpone the surgery.

Don't despair though, Fockers. All your prayers and wishes did do some good. I am totally at peace with this. I'm sure that's all because of you guys! Thanks.....it's amazing what the love and support of 2 dozen wonderful women will do for you. I'll deal with it when I get home from FF. Until then, I'm going to live my life.

Bob's almost HOME! Going to pick up Chinese now. LY/MI

MEL:banana:
You are still in my prayers. Glad Bob is getting home soon.
I am off to get ready for the big 08.08.08 party! BUT before I go... MY dh and I are in a HUGE fight and I have to go to this party with him.:headache: Last night I was measuring Tink for the clothes I am ordering for her, for her upcoming b-day trip. Now, I had showed him these items before... but for what ever reason he had a total freak out when he saw the cost. :scared: Now I know that these things are not cheap...but I showed him the costs of the items already and he told me that he would let me pick out the stuff...yada, yada...

I have already worked with the designer (someone from the DIS) at length. Now what am I supposed to do??? He is in major freak out mode on me. Major! Yet it is okay for him to spend what ever HE wants to spend, WHEN ever HE wants too. :confused3

Auuugggg!
Now keep in mind with my advice on marriage that I am not married and men seem to not stay with me very long. With that said I would just buy the items and tell him to get over it.

Never been but it looks like something I would really like.

Jon and I napped together this afternoon. He is beginning to feel a bit better. But...he has roid rage. Steroids make him VERY moody and emotional. So, we've had crying and attitude...and I had to threaten him within an inch of his life. My sweet boy always does this on steroids. :sad2: And...this is the kicker...I feel like shnike. I am getting sick. WTH does a woman have to do around here to just be healthy and happy??? :lmao:

We're settling down until the illness leaves our household. I'm making fajitas tonight and my brother, sister-in-law, and my nieces are coming over to watch the opening ceremonies tonight. I warned them we're sick...but they like the offer of free food too much. ;)
You two have had many changes quite quickly this summer. Just rest and get back to normal.

Today my "Baby Baby" turned 10. So it's busy. We had dinner at "Outback" as she gets to pick a restaurant for a birthday meal.

Her Big Gift was an i-pod. I have spent the last 3 days slipping into my office to download some songs into it so she could use it immediately.
I think it is now Permanently Attached to her.

I THINK I did a Miracle today... I made her Cry.. Not in any of the USUAL WAYS us Mom's can accomplish this.. but by writing her a Poem.. much like the poems my Mom used to write to and and about me.

Hello Miss Ten

My oh my.. Can it be ?
That little Baby inside of me
Has grown so much before my eyes
It’s not possible.. ( I close my Eyes)

Yet there she is in front of me
The eyes are blue, That I still see
But no more baby clothes
No more Baby Shoes
No more Baby Coo’s And it’‘s giving me the Blues

But, ”Ten” ? How can that be ??
When did this happen ? You are kidding me !
I just set you down , you toddled away
And you came running back looking at me THIS WAY!!

Far too fast the years have flown
I’ll turn around and you will be grown
I find myself wishing to go back again
And do all the things that I did not then

But I can not roll back the hands of time
The vision is gone, the memory is mine
Father Time is a CRUEL THIEF
Forward only he goes, Giving no relief

It breaks my heart with each passing year
All full knowing that one day I’ll hear
That you are engaged the wedding is soon
And you come home bringing your groom

But that’s far off ,it’s not coming soon
What’s important now is you “clean your room”
That you look when you cross the street
And do not talk to strangers you meet.

Oh Young Miss Ten,
You will NEVER KNOW
Just HOW MUCH...
I LOVE YOU SO

Yeah.. she began to cry.. and said "she did not want to grow up and leave me EVER"
I tried to tell her that "ONE DAY she will find a reason to be on her own. But she did not have to leave right now.. In fact I preferred she stay a long long time."
That poem is great and so touching. Hope she had a super birthday.

Flat Rosie has been travelling, she went back to her Birth County of Suffolk :thumbsup2
Looks like a great trip.

Good Morning all. I got a phone call from my mom last night. My dad is back in the hospital. No idea what is going on, but if I could get some Focker prayers it would be greatly appreciated. All I know is he went in with chest pains. I hate being so far away:headache:

So sorry about your dad. Prayers are on the way.
**********************************************
Went out to dinner last night with my mom and some friends. Dd watched ds and I was able to have a beer or two. I then spent the night at my mom's with my ds. He loves to stay at Mema's but her back is not well and she needs me there. Today is just cleaning and more cleaning. Dd has not done a Saturday chore in quite a while and her and I need to whip this house into shape.
I went in to ds school yesterday to pay the deposit and let them know that I would be still watching P this year. I was going to work in the daycare room this year. They asked if I could still work on Fridays and I said yes. I now have a new job when school starts. Yay I am so excited.

Thanks for all the well wishes for my dad everyone. Still waiting to hear from mom. Will keep you all updated!

Thanks for sharing Rosie's adventures Jo, made me giggle. :cutie:
You're welcome :goodvibes

Gee thanks:rolleyes:
You want more than an extension lead and a bucket?!?!?? Sheeesh :rotfl2:

I'm so sorry Janet, do you know any more now? Hope he's OK

Look at those baby piggie toes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
I never even noticed them :rotfl2:

Ab came home and said "I'm not getting married for a L-O-N-G time! Fine by me. She said the wedding was pretty but they were way too young. He dropped outta HS, she just graduated and is gonna try a local college.
Phew, good job she went to the wedding then huh :rotfl2:

:lmao: Flat Rosie! Stealing isn't nice!
Stealing???? Hope they find a room for your Mom soon, I wish that hospitals would change they're info to family only policy if the patient consents!

We are going tubing on the river this afternoon which should be fun!
Have fun!

Well all the ironing is done, it took about 3 hours :faint: I've also cleared the camera's memory cards and burnt them onto disk ready for holiday :thumbsup2

Ok all this RN talk has good me quite confuzzled. :faint: Here in CA RN's are starting at 70K. The program I want to get into doesn't require any college degree, thankfully - as that would take me forever to get into. One of the larger teaching hospitals in the area would allow to come in on their LVN program and then bridge to their RN program. They would pay me a salary and pay for my schooling. Not a bad deal, eh? Only thing is you have to contract with them for 5 years after becoming an RN. I'm ok with that as they have a Trama center and a Birthing Center and those are the 2 of the 3 departments I am most interested in.
I say move to California, Lessa. ;)

See that sounds more like the salary I have been hearing about in the States. My friend's brother and his wife are actually both RN's and moved out to LA a few years ago and love it. My friend was actually out there visiting them last week when the earthquake happened.

I would love to live in CA again except it would be REALLY far away from everybody I know. :sad2:
