Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Of course on the plane on the way to my poly cl trip today I am looking …..

Oddly I can NOT see bounce back . Last several trips I could after midnight on arrival day.

I have a trip in Oct I am still tinkering with…. AP changed and 10/31-11/2 , half of my trip has no discounts with AP.

Currently have a BB for my 10/31-11/2 dates but 1 bedroom villa I would prefer a 2 bedroom if I can find it.

Poly CL here we come!! 🥂🍍🌴

Can anyone compare the walk from room to lounge for AKL and WL Deluxe rooms?

I stayed WL Deluxe so I'm familiar with that one, wasn't keen on the walk but it was doable for my crew. AKL is tempting but we've been scared off by the walking. If it's similar to WL Deluxe I know we'll be ok but if it's substantially more if you get a far away room this might be a bad idea.

Obviously depends what room you're in, but we had the last room on the Kudu trail, so pretty far from the lounge at AKL and the walk felt like it took forever. Think it was about 6-7 minutes from the room to the elevator to get up to the lounge. Definitely impacted the amount of visits we made to the lounge. If the room was closer it would be one of our top club levels, but yeah, that walk wasn't fun, especially after a long day in the parks.

After a bit of an absence, DH and I are heading to The Grand Floridian (main building) in September. Our last trip was June 2023 (Yacht Club Club Level). And I let me AP go shortly afterwards....

A question (though I may have more as we get closer):
How is everyone getting to the resort from the airport these days? I used to use Tony Hinds (Gosh, I miss him!). And the friends we're meeting will be landing hours after us. I've emailed Signature Services about a Minnie Van (it's vacation!) as well as Grayson's (anyone used them?)

Thanks!

We’ll be at RPC in September as well, transferring from YC CL, lol. We’ve used Tiffany towncar for years without any problems. Never heard of Greyson’s. There are always thread on the transportation forum about towncar companies, you might search over there.

I used to use Tony too. Forgot all about him. I've just been using uber/lyft lately. I see a lot of people recommend away we go and cast and crew transportation in a Facebook group I'm in.

Yep, I meant to post an update Thursday evening, but was too busy having family fun. For the curious, they still have a few of the sundae toppings out, but no motre scooped ice cream. Instead, they say you can decorate an ice cream bar with the toppings. Which, exactly, zero people did, lol. Some kids were just eating bowls of mixed toppings and I did see some adults putting whipped cream on their bread pudding, but sundaes are no more

My friend put Kahlua and whipped cream in her decaf !

Sounds like you had a good trip? !!!

Tiffany was on my list - I hadn't heard of Greysons until recently so I may just stick with the tried and true!

Tony was just a nice man! When I was coming often (I spent 8 weeks at Disney in 2022!) he kept a coffee pot I purchased for me (I was staying at the JW and Dolphin a lot then).

I don't mind using Uber/Lyft TO the airport but I like to know we have someone booked and firmly there for us to get to the resort. Especially when DH is coming. We're treating this more like a "vacation" not just a "Disney Trip" if that makes sense.

Yes, I loved Tony. I used to use him on my way back to the airport too, MDE was always so early. It's funny, I always use a service to and from my home airport and love it. Not sure when or why I stopped getting picked up in Orlando. It is lovely having someone meet you there.

These days we’ll either rent a car (I like Alamo at MCO, followed by Hertz) or Uber/Lyft (usually in Orlando I lean Lyft but IMO it really doesn’t matter). I’m an admitted uber snob so usually go with the Black SUV option, which can be much more $ than other types but is usually a professional driver and vehicle along the lines of what you’d get with a car service. Most Black SUV drivers are often picking up rides between other scheduled work anyway.

Haven’t done the airport Minnie Van service in a year or so, but it’s not a bad way to go for a WDW splurge! Only minor comment about the Minnie Van service is sometimes you get a driver that’s really by the book on the speed limit, which on Florida highways can sometimes feel more dangerous, to me at least. I don’t want some speed demon of course, but I also don’t mind a driver that’ll lean in a bit more to go with the flow. 😇
