:hug: Thanks Jen..:goodvibes I thought it was an hour behind. It can wait till morning. I`m tired...good night!

dismom9761

I got my Disney paperwork in the mail today! :cool1: That vinyl pouch sure smelled good. I'm so excited!!! 19 years guys! I'm excited for all of you that get to go in the next few days also. We sure will be busy on these boards the rest of the year!!
Woo hoo!! :banana: I`m glad I`m not the only one who loves the smell of that plastic envolope!! Theres just something about it! :love:

So who watched the finale of So You Think You Can Dance???? I was so happy with the outcome (my pick from day 1) that I jumped off the couch and hurt my knee...:rotfl2:

I didn't think it had been that long since I posted, but geez, already this far along on the thread?

Kat - thanks for the pics on the Breaking Dawn event. I was going to buy Twilight because everyone says it is so good, but there are several bad reviews on Amazon, saying the actual writing and character development is not so good. Even if the story is good, that kind of stuff drives me crazy and I don't think I would like it. What is so great about the book?

DS went out of town Monday and returned today. So, instead of living it up, I sewed curtains for my bedroom. They look really good and I am pretty proud of myself because I'm not really domesticated.

I'm too tired to catch up, but I just wanted to say that I'm home. Mom's in ICU overnight and will move to a regular room during the day tomorrow, hopefully.

I'll read today's posts tomorrow morning. Good night, Fockers :goodvibes

I'm glad you're home and that she will be moved over. :goodvibes

Do pixies clean? I'll send you some.

Thanks!!! :goodvibes

Welcome home CE!!! We missed you! :goodvibes

Thanks, Carrie. Sorry about your bad day, but I sure know how it goes. :hug:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Leaving in just a few minutes to take Dad to the airport. The boys had to be woken up, so I promised them breakfast out if they would get up and get dressed. ;)
Then I have my eyebrow wax appointment, but then it's home to clean and clean. It looks like another bad weather day here, which is a pain. I like to clean alone - D will take the boys out, usually - but he's not here and I probably won't even be able to send them outside. :headache:
The good news is that we heard from SIL last night, and they're not planning on showing up until about 5:00 on Saturday, so I have tomorrow, too. :thumbsup2
Have a great morning - I'll be back later! :grouphug:
ok a orthodontist vent moment.......CE, I almost called you at 1, but you're not in my cell phone. BA was at cheer camp....10-8:30............at 11:30, she calls me (I have been at work for 30 minutes), her dang Herbst appliance fell out....again.............I drive 40 minutes to see her whilst calling her ortho..........they don't have doctors in today...........so I say I'll bring her in tomorrow.........and then I leave her there............just now, they said, the dentists are both at a meeting tomorrow and suggest she wait till Wed when the decide to work again. :mad:
I respond "So Dr. Woods' dental advice is for my 11 yo child to not eat for the next 6 days???"
....so they are getting an assistant to come in tomorrow am and look at it.........she can't fix it cause she's not a dentist.:mad: :mad: Sometimes I hate small towns--only practice here.
OMG, that's CRAZY TE! :sad2:
His ankle is better...amazing what ice will do. And he thought is was totally cool to be able to see all his bones on the x-ray, so something good came out of his day.
Oh good! I was worried it might be a bad sprain - those are the worst.
Hush now. I've seen your picture. And if you can hide behind an 11 year old girl while at the pool, you're not big at all.
::yes:: T you need to stop with the "fat" talk. You are NOT fat!
I told her that I appreciated her apology but the reason for my complaint is more to prevent this from happening to other people.
WELL done LL! :thumbsup2
I was down 2.6 last night at WW.
:cheer2: WTG!!! Pfffft to Tony and his editorial comment. ;)
Well,,,kinda a crappy day for me...
:hug: Just remember, we've all been there!
So who watched the finale of So You Think You Can Dance???? I was so happy with the outcome (my pick from day 1) that I jumped off the couch and hurt my knee...:rotfl2:
Really? I watched, but not with much enthusiasm. Don't get me wrong, I like Joshua, but I guess I always want the best technical dancers to win. My money was on WIll - I lost interest when he was out.:sad2:
I didn't think it had been that long since I posted, but geez, already this far along on the thread?
I know - some people (Janet) sure chat a lot! :rolleyes1
_________________________________________________________
Wanted to say THANK YOU for celebrating with me - I couldn't' have lost it without you guys! Really, I can't say how many times over the past few weeks I've wanted to quit and eat junk. But your suggestions and encouragement helped me make the right choices, and that made all the difference. :grouphug:
And on the subject of health... who's watching the Olympic opening ceremonies with me tonight?! I love, love, LOVE the Olympics. :love: Gotta go check the schedule and see what the "must see" events are this weekend...
Hi gang!! Been a crazy week and it's getting late so I'm just here for a bit.
So Michael got a NEW cast on Tuesday. He went for his 1 week follow up x-rays, etc. and we're already on our 2nd cast Monday at daycare he was in the sandbox (that I told him to stay out of) catching bugs :scared: and when he let a handful of sand go, the bug that he caught was no where to be found.
Guess where it was hiding...
Yup...in his cast. You'd have thought he had ants in his pants...err...cast...the way he was squirming around. The doc came in, Michael told him about the bug and was saying I know it's in there, I can feel his shell :eek: ...so immediately they got the saw and cut the cast off...the one I never got a picture of him in...
So now he has a new cast - still up to the armpit, but it glows in the dark. Kind of cool I guess.
OH - guess who I got a call from today? The head of the Emergency Department. One of the hospital employees I deal with on the jobsite went to the Vice President of the hospital and told him about our ER visit and the VP went to the ED Director gave her my number and told her to call me. She was mortified at the things I was telling her and couldn't apologize enough.
I told her that I appreciated her apology but the reason for my complaint is more to prevent this from happening to other people. I volunteered at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for nearly 5 years - on the hospital board, the Family Advisory Board, the Children's Hospital Parent Council, The VON Network...I said I was well versed in patient rights and family centered care and that I was lucky to have known people like (big shout out:thumbsup2 ) Rachel that told me about putting ice on Michael's arm. I reminded her of the demographic of our area and asked her what would be the outcome if it had been someone else's little boy who'd been discharged for the weekend with no splint, no sling, no directions to ice the arm and what if that same little boy had gotten an infection from the wood chips not being cleaned out before they wrapped him up? I told her that the Orthopeadic (sp?) surgeon had already noticed a difference in Michael's xrays from Friday to Monday, so what if it had been another patient who didn't have the advantage of the advice we did and whose parents didn't know that they could speak up?:mad:
Well, she was going to be speaking with every single staff member that had contact with Michael (and us) that day, starting with the idiot who was going to send him home and the one who got pissed when I asked her to clean the arm before she wrapped it - they were on duty today.
:thumbsup2 Score one for the little people! Ok, off my soap box.
And speaking of drama...I just finished Twilight. OMG - I couldn't put it down!! I don't know why but I just had to keep reading...
Now, sadly, I have nothing to read at the beach tomorrow though :sad2: . I'll have to order the others. So thank you all for recommending it. And it's all your fault that my haircut Tuesday night came out wayyy too short I had the whole salon talking about this book and the guy that cuts my hair (Jerome) and I got on to the subject of vampires. Well, he got all worked up and excited talking about how sexy vampires are and Barnabus was his first crush, blah blah blah...before I knew it - my hair was GONE:eek: Back to square one again in my quest to grow my hair out...
I used to go to Rye a lot as a kid - Playland baby!! No body mentioned Playland that I saw - it's an amusement park and a beach all in one. Had a ton of good memories there...Rye's nice. Or - it used to be - it's been years since I've been there, but it's not too far outside the city that I recall.
My sentiments exactly Kate - Jodi you're a great friend.
PHEW - for a minute there I was like, "NO - NOT YOU TOO!!"
I must've missed this - Jen hope you guys are ok
Well Fockers...I'm beat - going to bed. Have a great Friday everyone!!
:scared: about the bug!! My girls would have died! (as would I!)
Good job for standing up for yourself the the hospital admin! I agree whilst it's great to have an Offiical ER FOcker like Rachel, you really shouldn't have to post online to get good care.
:lmao: about The hairdresser
....not so much about your hair
I'm still waiting for Breaking Dawn shipment. :mad:
I'm too tired to catch up, but I just wanted to say that I'm home. Mom's in ICU overnight and will move to a regular room during the day tomorrow, hopefully.
I'll read today's posts tomorrow morning. Good night, Fockers :goodvibes
:hug: sorry I missed something--what is wrong?
I had a good friend that went through this about 2 yrs ago. She said one day after a shower she started drying her hair with a blow dryer and when she looked up into the mirror she was in a hairy snow globe. She said she laughed and cried at the same time. She said wigs were just too hot. She preferred hats or bandanas.
It isn't just small towns or orthodontists. It's everywhere. We have had a devil of a time getting an appointment for DH on the chemo. consult. All paperwork and incompetance related.
!!
That's a shame---this isn't near as important.
great about your Disney
info!!
Hmmm... thought I told you guys I decided to stay? Guess not. I figured it's a riot to work there and I'll have lots of good stories and the extra cash is really nice.
See above. :goodvibes
Wow! So is this a temp move or permanent?
Some people. :sad2:
:lmao:
Uh huh... still only part time. ;)
Aww, you're a good friend, Jodi! :cloud9:
:eek: Well at least he'll be ok before your vacay, Kate.
WTH is a herbst? :confused3
Yeah, don't let the weight loss fool you - I'm still fat! :lmao: If I lose the 4 pounds, I"ll look exactly the same as last year! :rotfl2:
Yeah, apparently I forgot to send out the memo. :headache:
Hi Michelle! Good to "see" you! :goodvibes
no...........we thought you was a leavin! I was trying to find a new Official Botox Barbie! :laughing:
Herbst=Medieval torture device designed to correct the bite of perfectly normal looking middle schoolers.:teacher:
\=====================
waiting on the dish network folks to upgrade me to hdtv--they'll come now as I'm in disney pJs!
Good MOrning all. Wasn't a great evening. Yesterday afternoon one of our 6 foot book shelves in out basement/family room collapsed:scared1: Luckily the kids were outside when it happened. So after work we went to Lowes and bought a new one and spent all night putting it together and restocking it, the rearranging other stuff around so we can move the fish tank down there so it is out of the way for the contractor.
I was glad to come to work this morning just so I could get a break.
I'm so tired... :guilty: The kids yelling at each other woke me up at 7:15. :sad2: I had to get up them because I have so much to do today.
I need to get groceries, clean house and get B's schoolwork done with her so she can go to a sleepover at 2. If I can get all that done, and K mows in the morning before we pick up B, then I'm hoping to get back to Austin to visit my mom with the kids. :faint: That made me tired thinking about it. :rolleyes:
TE- Mom was having three surgeries for different problems she's been having a for a long time. She should be out of ICU later today.
And on the subject of health... who's watching the Olympic opening ceremonies with me tonight?! I love, love, LOVE the Olympics. :love: Gotta go check the schedule and see what the "must see" events are this weekend...
We will be DVRing them. We have a 08.08.08 party to attend tonight. Should be fun!
Dawn ~ I hope you mom gets out of ICU today and on the mend.
I am going to try and clean too CE!
___________
We have Tennis lessons today and I need to finish up the laundry and clean. clean, clean! We are having a going away dinner for my "lil'l bro". He is leaving for Chile next week and we won't see him again until Christmas.
Well, she was going to be speaking with every single staff member that had contact with Michael (and us) that day, starting with the idiot who was going to send him home and the one who got pissed when I asked her to clean the arm before she wrapped it - they were on duty today.
I am glad someone actually took notice of your complaint. I hate having to use the ER. They just seem to never have it all put together in ours.
I'm too tired to catch up, but I just wanted to say that I'm home. Mom's in ICU overnight and will move to a regular room during the day tomorrow, hopefully.
I'll read today's posts tomorrow morning. Good night, Fockers :goodvibes
Glad to hear all went well and she is doing fine.
Well,,,kinda a crappy day for me...guess its my turn huh? :headache: I flipped out on the kids and just kinda lost it al day!! I just screamed at them for not doing anything and making messes. and all I ever do is wash dishes and clean up after everybody...Sam (15) refused to shower..i flipped!!! I even started to cry. which kinda freaked them out a little. Annie came up to me and said "Dont worry mommy, your going to work soon, so you`ll be alone then" :guilty: I felt soo bad! even the new dog decided to stay on the deck and lie down..I feel bad for the kids because we havent really done anything this summer and they are soo bored!! I have to say that I had not taken my Zoloft in 4 days. so I think that triggered it. I cant wait for our weekend alone in WDW!!!
I think the key is to remember to take my meds everyday! or almost everyday....
Everyone has bad days, but yes it helps when the meds stay in your system everyday. Here is a :hug: and just start fresh today.
Woo hoo!! :banana: I`m glad I`m not the only one who loves the smell of that plastic envolope!! Theres just something about it! :love:
Me too. I for some reason got two of them this trip. One was sent with the original ressie and then when I was able to add a day on, they sent a second one. I have two sets of everything now. I wonder if I can use both coupons at PH for money off and get 2 free 5x7 photos.
Leaving in just a few minutes to take Dad to the airport. The boys had to be woken up, so I promised them breakfast out if they would get up and get dressed. ;)
Happy cleaning. Hope the weather holds off and the kids are out of your hair.
Glad no one was hurt. That must have been scary and made one h**l of a mess too.
Well ladies I didn't tell you all this yet but I am not happy with the people who do the rides at our fair. I have not went for the last two years and what happened this year just confirmed it for me. Two years ago I had one of the workers keep me trapped on a ride. He did it on purpose and I felt so trapped I have not went back. They also sold me a wrist band for my ds and then refused to let him ride the kids rides. He rode them one day then the next they said no. I talked to the managers about all of it and they were of no help so I do not go. This year my mom wanted to take the kids and I told her yes. My dd told me at dinner last night that a worker was laughing at ds. Ds has a slight stutter and while trying to say thank you for a prize he won, a worker was laughing at him stuttering. :sad2: :mad:. I guess my mom was not there at the time just dd and ds.
And on the subject of health... who's watching the Olympic opening ceremonies with me tonight?! I love, love, LOVE the Olympics. :love: Gotta go check the schedule and see what the "must see" events are this weekend...
::yes:: We're even having an Olympics "party". We usually have a movie night on Friday and I make pizza, but tonight it's Chinese food and opening ceremonies. #2 and #3 have been making decorations and #2 has been studying the history of the Olympics all week. I'm even making him convert the metric system to US for math :scared:
:furious: I'm so sorry your son was laughed at...that's terrible!
I'm a mean momma who won't let her kids ride carnival rides at all. If it isn't stuck to the ground permanently, they don't go on.
That is horrible! :mad: So sorry your son had to experience such low human behaviour. :hug:
I am not a fan of fairs either, the rides always seem so sketchy to me, I am afraid they would fall apart when riding them. :scared:
UGH...:sad2: That gives me flashbacks to my Kitchen cabinet coming down.. again no one around and NO BODY WAS HURT :)
But NOT THE WAY YOU WANT TO SPEND YOUR EVENING:scared:
I hated moving Fish tanks when we had a big saltwater one. Get the fish out.. drain the water.. THEN WE HAD TO GET THE CORAL OUT.. too heavy other wise.. move it and fill it back up and put the fish in it... :faint:
Sara wants to do that again one day.
THAT IS HORRIBLE... I think on all three of those cases you have I would have opened me up a can of Whoop Butt.
NO you are a GOOD MOMMA.. I do not take the kids to Carnivals. Those rides get jostled around around, moved from state to state. Put up, taken down.
That is stress on parts you need to be in good shape.
Besides the fact they are firmly and permanently attached to the ground.
But Sadly.. as we have seen in the news (and not that long ago)... even the rides that are always attached... can collapse.
Ok.. Janet brings up fish... We are having "FISH ISSUES"
Our Betta went from being a miserable, sluggish, unhappy fish... to a VERY VERY happy content fish.
He is building a "Bubble Nest"
A month ago I really thought this fish was going to die... he looked awful. So we put some live plants in the tank, more gravel, and he began to cheer up.. and EAT... now he is thinking LADY FISH (Hello Somebody):scared1:
And from what I have heard.. they want Multiple Lady Fish...( BAD BOY FISH)
and if they only have 1 lady friend... he will wear her out.
So I told Sara... he may just have to a bachelor the rest of his life...
DID NOT EXPLAIN all the rest.. but she already knows about "that " and had I explained WHY he was going to stay a bachelor... then she would have been Creeped out.;) :rotfl: Much less I tell her he would need more than 1 lady friend.. :scared1: BAD FISH !!
Margie, where is this fair? I am going to drive there and teach them some manners! What jerks! Give your DS a HUGE hug from the Fockers. WE love him.
People make me so mad.
Dawn: :hug: for you and mom. Hope she is doing well. Breathe deep, girl.
------------------
Ok, the house is clean! Yippee! I have to jump in the shower. Today is the day, Fockers. I find out if the glaucoma dr. is going to cut me again. :guilty: I'm so scared to hear that it's bad news! I am just hoping that me messing up the drops and FIGURING it out after will change things.
Bob comes home tonight! THANK GOODNESS. I miss him so much.:lovestruc
Oh, and miraculously (as soon as they heard we were leaving town for FL and needed a sitter) the IL's decided that they can't be here till mid Sept. Isn't that a strange coincidence?
BTW, I had NO intention of letting them watch my precious babies!!!! I told Bob to tell them they had to let us know so we could plan for a sitter or NOT to plan for a sitter if they'd be here....well what do you know!? All of a sudden, it's not so pressing for them to get here.
Bob and I had a wager going that they would respond that way. I'm looking forward to collecting....wink wink.
MEL:banana:
Oh, and I'm stealing Kate's idea (think it was Kate) about Chinese Food and the Olympics tonight! AWESOME idea!!!!
And I believe Jen is the Official ZPS detector,,,,,,,, and I know that Mo is our Official Poop Expert so they must work in the same department! :lmao:
OHhhhh...I like that title.
I am the Official ZPS Detector of Team Focker Watch! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
I'm down a full 5 lbs.! :banana: :woohoo: :yay:
:woohoo: Yay V!!!
Hey guys,
I just got back from helping my neighbor shave her head. Her hair was falling out all over the place from her chemo so she decided that it was time to shave it all off. You don't think it should be a big deal, but it was pretty emotional. Her DD3 came into the kitchen while we were in the middle of it and started crying while looking at her mom. It was awful. But, I think now that this is over, it will be easier. I think this was the hardest part for her and her husband. Her DH told her that he didn't want to be there for the actual shaving. So, he was working in the garage.
Now it's time to decide on some hats....
:hug:
I'm too tired to catch up, but I just wanted to say that I'm home. Mom's in ICU overnight and will move to a regular room during the day tomorrow, hopefully.
I'll read today's posts tomorrow morning. Good night, Fockers :goodvibes
Hope she's doing well. :hug:
OH heeeeeeck no. :mad: Grrrrrrr. Let me at him...
I"m sorry for your son honey. :hug:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Oy. That's all I have to say.

I am absolutely exhausted.

Let's see...if I can recap.

Well, Wednesday night Jon's fever spiked at 105.2. But, he begged me not to take him to the hospital. I gave it 30 minutes to head down...and we took all the tricks out of the bag...and the fever did come down.

Yesterday...we were at the hospital/doctor's office all day. X-rays, IV, breathing treatments and oxygen...and he is beginning to feel a little better. He has bronchitis and sinusitis. Blah.

They gave him a bag of fluids to hydrate him along with some solu-cortef (hydrocortisone). His oxygen sats were low...so we were on oxygen and xopanex (breathing treatments). Blah. But...we were able to come home...because after the steroids and treatments his sats came up. :woohoo:

He is on an antibiotic and high-dose steroids...in addition to breathing treatments every 2 hours. Round the clock. And momma is tired. The good news is the fever is gone...he's coming around...he actually ate this morning...and he slept through everything last night. But I'm exhausted. Just taking a break and catching up on the DIS.

Ok, the house is clean! Yippee! I have to jump in the shower. Today is the day, Fockers. I find out if the glaucoma dr. is going to cut me again. :guilty: I'm so scared to hear that it's bad news! I am just hoping that me messing up the drops and FIGURING it out after will change things.

MEL:banana:

Yea BOB COMES HOME.... :banana:

You are going to be O.K. Mel... It's not going to be BAD... I am believeing that the drops was the driving factor in your eye pressure going up.

Love Ya Girl.
:hug:

Oh, and I'm stealing Kate's idea (think it was Kate) about Chinese Food and the Olympics tonight! AWESOME idea!!!!

Did I not warn you all about the Chinese food. Did I not tell you my scary story.
