So there I was on TFW 3 and I was happy that I only missed 3 pgs only to find out that TFW 4 has been started and I've missed 26 pgs .
Thank God I'm not the only one.
Sorry CE I did mean to PM you as you were away
No worries!

Thanks for thinking of me back on page 11!
CE---welcome back---dang it---did u go to Dollywood? I would have loved to meet u in person. Ab is in Pigeon Forge this weekend.
We didn't go.
The only nice day we had on vacation was Wed., which was supposed to be Dolly day, but we decided not to drive the 3 hours round trip when we were going to be driving 16 hours the next day, so we just went on the boat.
I love how kids do that... forest (DS12) used to do the same with fire trucks ...

our favorite however was his version of helecoptor...
Ho doctor
My kids had the most interesting thing with firetrucks as well...

Welcome, new Fockers! Really, I'm usually here a lot, but I was in TN because of NH's school April break.

I'm CE. I grew up in IL, but live in NH now. I have newly-6-year-old boy twins, and I stay home with them for now. My DH is a pilot, so I'm home by myself a lot, but I know that I have nothing to complain about compared to the single or military parents.
So, we drove 16 straight hours Thursday so we could be sure to be home for the t-ball parade yesterday evening. Yeah, it was 45 and raining. Boy, was I happy we made it back.
The boys were supposed to have the first game then, this morning, but the other team wimped out and didn't stay for the 45 degree rain,

so we had practice instead. We then spent all afternoon still looking for an entertainment center.
TE, love yours! We can't have up and around because of the windows.
Anyway, trying to find one with enough room for the center speaker, 3 components and maybe a touch of DVD storage has been a total nightmare, and D is completely frustrated and mad. We may make the 1 1/2 hour one-way trek to Ikea tomorrow, as we are nearly giving up on the DVD storage, so we can get something for the components and then a new matching case for the DVD's. (We have all Ikea in the family room except for the sofa.)
This all came up, btw, because of course when we ordered the TV from
amazon.com, they were out of stock. I happened to check D's e-mail in TN on Monday and it showed it shipped, but with a delivery of 5/7. Great.
I checked our voicemail at home on Wed. and there was a nice lady wanting to bring the TV on Thursday. As in two days ago. "Um, we're not home, can we make it Tuesday?" which was fine, but we are now scrambling for furniture. Ugh. Worst case, we can use our old coffee table in the meantime, but really.
I'll post a mini-TR here in a bit. We're desperately trying to catch up on our DVR shows, as we need a new cable/DVR box for the HD tv, and so we'll have to give up our box with weeks of shows on it!

A few more replies...
Kat, sorry about your mom, lovely picture, many hugs to you.
V, the story about your headache and Leo was the cutest ever.
Jo, hope Ben's even better and hooray to Ellie and of COURSE I would have jumped on the panning.

Oh, and I have to share my birthing story, though I'm days late.
The boys were 9/11 babies - D was piloting and stranded for days, when he got back I was most happy to see him.

So, they were due in June.
My doctors kept telling me that we'd be happy to get me to late May, 36 weeks.
D's birthday is 4/26, so hugely pregnant at 7 months with twins, I got him tix to our first Red Sox game for his birthday. His bro and the bro's GF lived in MA at the time, too, so I got the four of us tix.
I made it through the game, had a hot dog and two sips of beer, then we went back to BIL's apt. for me to pee and be ready to drive the 45 minutes back up to our house.
We joked that it was a full moon, and I said that I fully expected to go into labor at the next full moon, 5/25 (my mom's b-day). We looked at the calendar. We laughed.
My water broke.
I called the dr., who said "Get to a hospital!" As it happened, BIL's girlfriend was studying for her doctorate at a joint Harvard/Mass General Hospital program, so we went to Mass General. (MGH.)
This was roughly 11:00 pm - they tried to stop my labor for 48 hours to get the steroid shot for the babies' lungs to have a chance to work, but any longer was impossible because the water had broken so infection could set in.
By 8:00 the next morning, the next shift of dr.'s had come on - none of them mine, of course, as I was 45 minutes from home - and they decided that though I wasn't dilated, I'd been contracting so much that waiting was impossible (thank goodness, because I was miserable all night in pain) and so they stopped the "stopping" drugs.
By 10:00 I asked if we could check if I was to 3 cm's to get the epidural. Turns out I was fully dilated - had gone through transition, etc. with no drugs - and they then had to completely freak out and scramble to get NICU teams (2, for twins) an OR (they were head down, but no guarantee #2 wouldn't flip once 1 came out) and an epidural (in case of emergency c-section) done before they let me push.
Yeah.
Woody came at 11:14 4 lb. 3 oz., after pushing for maybe 15 minutes. Buzz was 4 minutes later at 3 lb. 10 oz. - I wasn't contracting that much, but I wasn't waiting!
Woody ended up in hospital for 5 weeks, learning to eat and breathe at the same time, and Buzz for 8 as he developed a nasty intestinal infection that required surgery. That was AWFUL. We had moved them up to our local hosp. at 4 days, but then Buzz wound up back in Boston for the surgery and recovery, so we had kids in two hospitals 45-60 minutes apart, for weeks and weeks.
But, they're good now, and Buzz (the "sick" one at birth) is at the 95th percentile now for his age as far as size, and they are developmentally awesome.

I'm of course still really trying to catch up on threads, etc. but the TV watching is also imperative before Monday.

D flies on Wed., so the end of the week will be good for me, DIS wise.
I'm so glad to be back!
