Well the bathrooms are done, I've hoovered tidied, packed (T are you happy? ) still need to iron a few bits (not for my trip just because) and dust and I'm done I can checkin online for my flight in 25 minutes and I need to print off my lines but I'm ready to go

Oh and I nearly also strangled a child When the new school year starts the girls often need books covered with sticky backed plastic, anyway I don't allow them to do it as I know it would be a disaster. So a few times last week and on Saturday I asked if they had any books, nope Ellie said. Anyway it gets to 9.45pm tonight when she suddenly says she needs a book covering for tomorrow and get this she's had the book for 2 weeks I just don't get why all of a sudden she has turned so irresponsible with evrything 1 more full day to go

Oh, I would have strangled her too! I had to cover Jimmy's book sin the same stuff (We call it contact paper). It should be outlawed. It's such a pain to do!

School starts in 2 days and I'm so not in the mood. I still have to read my syllabi and finish getting my books. In case anyone is interested, I'm taking a bird class and lab (memorize bird calls! yuk!) a wetlands class (Ill be thinking of FL the whole time. lol) Intro physics, and wildlife conservation.

Good morning all. Boys are off to work/school!

Back to School NIght went really well, but it was REALLY sad to see how few parents showed up. There are 580 families in the school. If there were 2-- parents there it was alot

Jimmy was really tired this morning, becasue he didn't go to bed until after we got home, but he got up for school...albeit sloooooowwwwly

I started the laundry and I think I am FINALLY going to get Jimmy's room cleaned today.

Well, crapola. I had 3 pages worth of quotes - I was replying to Janet's LAST POST, and I hit something funny and POOF, they're all gone. Let's see what I can remember...

Mel, Dawn, Z, Jo, Angela - I'm so jealous, but have a terrific time. Dawn, congrats to B on the dance.

Janet, my kids will never ride home from school with me, even if I'm there at the end of the day. They prefer the bus. I know how you feel.

Lessa, glad school is going well - not that I wish you stress, but hope things get more interesting soon.

Denise, and everyone else, thanks for the well wishes. I feel much better.

Angela, thankfully the annoying tennis woman is on a team a level up from me, so Mondays are free from her.

V, I know it doesn't even BEGIN to compare, but you popped into my mind the other day when I was so happy to have D take the boys away for a bit, and he was only gone for a few days. I know your ex was not exactly, um, perfect , but I also know how much of a relief it is to not be the person in charge 24/7. I'm sure you're missing that relief a bit. Know that we are here for you if you need to vent or whatever.

Sorry if I forgot anyone... I'm so mad at myself for hitting the wrong thing!

Sorry that I've been MIA the last couple of days. I did nap most of the morning Monday, then tennis was pretty good and we did a team meeting after, so I only got back about a half hour before the kids showed up.

Yesterday, I did get up and moving and went to the grocery store and took the dog on a really good walk, etc. and then the kids had tennis after school, and then D got home a bit after dinner.

Today I have the meeting with the rep for the Book Fair, but it's not until noon. I need to shower beforehand, but other than that, I don't have a lot going on. D needs to do more safety officer stuff, but I don't know if he's going to try to work from here, from his office, or somewhere like the library. He says he never gets anything done here or at work, so...

Anyway... I should maybe go ahead and shower, so that I'm not in his way if he's going somewhere.

I might be back later - depends on whether I need to look busy because D's here!

Right. Well here goes...

Leo and I have had a very rough time adjusting to his dad's move across the country. But not necessarily in the ways I'd have expected... Leo's behavior is 1000% better with Dad out of the picture entirely. Each time they talk, Leo builds up anger and aggression and acts inappropriately, both with me and at school. When he decided he didn't want to talk to Dad, and 2 weeks went by without that interaction, he was very nearly angelic.

Add in the ex in-laws, or Outlaws as LL named them. Remember that Bonehead lived with them, so it was to their house that Leo went every other weekend. Well, they wanted to see him and he wanted to see them. So I allowed a visit last Sunday. Looong back-story there, but these people are as nutty - maybe more so - than Bonehead. Leo had a pretty disappointing visit and his behavior Sun. through yesterday reflected it.

On a bright note, he's getting some help and started taking karate lessons from a FANTASTIC lady who's equal parts firm disciplinarian and kind role model. It's helping Leo a lot in many areas, particularly in feeling empowered and confident in himself. He moved to a new barn for riding lessons, and it too is a good fit.

As for us, our relationship is actually a lot better with Bonehead gone. Leo seems happier overall being in one place, instead of moving back and forth all the time. I think that situation is fine for lots of kids, but not so much mine; keep in mind, he had no "home" at Daddy's - he got an air mattress in his 3yo half-sister's room and was put in front of a TV all weekend.

Still no sign of child support. Last I heard, Bonehead blames me for him not being able to get a job out there... because his driver's license was suspended for non-payment. He claims he "can't work anywhere but home." Hello - public transportation?!?!

So that's where I'm at. Add in lots of changes at work, and I haven't had a safe haven in a while. It's just left me emotionally and mentally wiped out. But we're getting through it all and I'm hopeful that things will even out soon.

And there's always The Mouse for diversion.

Wow V---didn't know he had moved across country but sounds like it was for the best. FWIW---my "real" dad skipped to another state when I was 2....came back when I was 18 and 2 months .....couldn't track child support easily back then. But it's no big deal---don't feel like I missed anything and glad mom did not have the conflict....even tho she didn't have the money either. So don't worry if he loses the relationship--may be the best thing!

I don't think I realized that. I knew they were also in the area, but didn't remember that Leo's dad was living there. Sigh.

Z--sorry about the Dolphins...trust me....Daran had the TV on through the game and just as I would get to sleep he would yell "oh NO!"...and then he felt I needed to understand the reasons why they lost!

This is VERY true. When it takes 1 QB 20 plays to score a Touchdown and the other 6 plays that makes a BIG difference. Plus having receivers taht can catch the ball.

You must have snuck into my dreams last night. I dreamed that all of a sudden I saw same tiny kittens running around. They were exactly the same as my two cats now when they were kittens. I decided to keep them but that brought my total animal count up to 4 cats, 1 dog, and 1 guinea pig. And only 2 people in the house.

Yeah that's a lot of animals. My mom is not crazy with the 3 cats we do have.

I finally told Mitch I got tickets to the Giants/Bucs game Sunday for our anniversary. He was so excited! I knew he would be, just not how much. He's decided we're spending the night in Tampa, having dinner, tailgating, and how knows what else! Now he's totally fine with going to MNSSHP party, which he really didn't want to do!

I feel slightly better about Book Fair from the corporate end - the questions and issues I have now are dealing within the school and the PATT, and so on, so that's not as bad. I have people I can ask about that.

I need to pre-assemble my dinner for tonight. The oven has a cool function where I can program it to start whilst I'm gone and "hold warm" until I turn it off, so that's cool. Poppyseed chicken tonight! But, I need to saute the chicken and so forth first.
