Hi, all!
Z, glad you had a good trip, even if it was short.
T, the kitchen efforts will be worth it.
Mo, glad to see you - I think I escaped just in time - they are expecting record hot temps today at home.
Debra, looks like fun.
Kristel, good job getting the house clean!
Jo, good for Jess, have fun at your dad's.
TE, we had no issues with rudeness and the French - you'll have a ball. I adore Paris.
Angela, you should start charging an airport fee...
Lori, congrats on the test, hope your dad has a safe drive.
Dawn, sorry your company's gone. I am personally nearly family-ed out, but...
Hi, Sam!
Hi, Lessa!
Hi, Kat - take care.
I'm so sorry to hear about Janet. I'd texted her with the last "sick report" but didn't hear back. I don't get the twitter stuff on my phone (I should, but didn't set it up pre-iPhone and haven't managed since...)
Sorry if I've missed anyone...

*********************************************************
I am still hiding in the attic.

MIL is currently at a PT appointment for her feet - she had surgery for hammer toes a bit ago. D is having lunch with his oldest friend (OK, friend for the longest time...

) but he's out for a run, now. FIL is at work, so I actually am fairly content alone in the house, but it's been a near thing.
We had dinner at a stepSIL's last night, after MIL and FIL took the kids to G-Force, which I hear is horrible for the grown-ups. I got out of it by waiting for D to return from a lunch with our friend in FL whom he almost went to work for last year - he'd flown into Chicago for the day, lucky coincidence. Anyway, between D's aunts leaving but then getting pulled into step family stuff, we'd like a little break, and I'm kind of getting one tonight, but D, not so much...
I am having dinner with my college roomies in the city tonight. D, the boys, and MIL/FIL/BIL/Bride are heading to the bride's parents' house for dinner with their relatives who've flown in from Ireland for the wedding. Her mom is first generation, so they have cousins, etc. coming over whom they're pretty close to.
I need to do a little shopping, and I'm still trying to figure out if I should schedule something for my hair. I had my girl cut it at home a couple of weeks ago, and mentioned that it's in that "in between" stage where I just can't do much to make it look good. I'm half feeling like cutting it off, just to get to a better place, but my goal was to grow it out some again, so I don't know. And it's not like I'm in the wedding or anything, but I want to look good!
MIL is still just crazy about wanting to be with the boys constantly, all while also going nutty with wedding prep, and it's just exhausting. Sigh.
I'm hopeful things will improve as we move to the hotel downtown on Friday. But it may just go totally manic at that point...
Anyway, I'd better shower or something, and make sure the kids haven't been run over or whatnot (they are playing outside. It's a dead end street, so I'm not too fearful, still...)
Have a good day!
