Hey ladies. I just got caught up.
:hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: to Janet. Could someone please give me an update on her? :hug: :hug: :hug:
I sent her a text this morning but haven't heard back, not that I expected to. :hug:

I just got back from Kohl's. They are having a nice sale on all their intimates. I just got a Playtex Secrets bra that was $32 for $16.99. Plus Hanes/Playtex is doing buy one get one free by mail on certain styles until the end of the month. The tag on the bra has all the info. You just send them $3 for S&H. 2 bras for $20 is an awesome deal!
I was there the other day but didn't get anything. They are always having good sales. :thumbsup2

We're looking at June so hopefully ok weather. Daran mentioned that the French can kinda be snotty at times. He thought the Germans were nicer! Ab is excited. She starts French III this year, so is hoping to be able to talk some to them.
You're going to have a wonderful time. :goodvibes I was so glad my sister spoke French when we went even though we were on a tour.

Mitch is going to Nashville tomorrow overnight. It seems like such a hassle for only one day, but that's work. ;)
I'm picking up Reid tomorrow from school and the other day when I picked him up, he was in the gym! No more baby. He's turning into a little boy. Not sure how I feel about that!
We finally saw Harry Potter in IMAX. I thought it was good but very dark.

Z - Glad you had a good trip even though it was short.

T - Glad the progress is coming along with the kitchen. Did they give you an estimate on when it would be done? Have your kids started back to school yet?

Angela - Glad you like Harry Potter.

Sorry I didn't quote everyone but I'm tired and have been up and down with the kiddos. But :wave: to all I missed!

*******************************************************

My dad left for FL early this morning. He'll be stopping halfway tonight so I should probably call him in a bit. Lucky him to be getting to drive into all that rain.

The kids are already wanting to re-arrange rooms around. :rolleyes: I have a break between quarters in a few weeks and maybe then I'll change things around. If not I'm waiting until it's cooler out and the upstairs isn't so hot. :laughing:

Had my math class today and the test I was worried about I got an A on it. :banana: Now tonight I have a TON of homework to do to get ready for class on Wednesday. UGH!

That's about it for me. I need to clean up the dinner dishes and then start homework. Glad to hear everyone is having a good Monday.

Hey all. Just a quick Hello from me.

I got home from work and napped so now I need tog et a hustle on dinner. I am off tomorrow so hopefully the long list of 'to do's" sitting next to me will get done.

I got to round 3 of trivia! There are only 12 people left! I have to get to work on those next questions- i have till thursday!

I also found out the official closing date for the WoD NYC is Dec 31st!

Anyways gotta jet! Hope everyone is doing well!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEN (GOOFYLUVR)!!!!

GOOD MORNING FOCKERS! SORRY IF I AM YELLING. WE WENT TO THE JONAS BROS CONCERT LAST NIGHT AND I FORGOT MY EAR PLUGS. MY EARS ARE STILL RINGING A LITTLE DUE TO THE THOUSANDS OF SCREAMING GIRLS.

I will try to post pictures later.

:lmao::rotfl2: Can't wait!

Sam: Your trip is almost here!!! :banana::banana:

Kat: So when WoD closes, will they move you to another store?

T: it's very quiet...but for once I can keep up! :rolleyes:

***********************************************

Hi All, just checking in. Had a crazy day at work, but go to leave early.

It just started raining....the beginning of all those lovely storms passing this way. Angela are they scaring/predicting anything up there?

Well talk with ya'll later, gonna watch a movie and probably pass out.

:hippie:

Kat: So when WoD closes, will they move you to another store?

There are NO other stores to move to!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
KC is late tonight so I have been knocking out a lot of my list of to-do's for tomorrow. I plan to take it as easy as possible. Aunt Flo is about to visit and she's mean to my back, so a day of rest is needed, plus its so hot who wants to go outside!
I am uploading my pics from the weekend now...hope to have 'em up tomorrow too!
Goodnight!
pics from the Jonas Bros concert
The stage was very dynamic. It had a main center stage with two smaller stages to the top and bottom.
100_2145.jpg
As you can see our seats were in the nose bleed section. In fact we were on the very top row. The speakers were in direct line of sight to the stage and the monitors. But Chi was happy so I didn't complain out loud.
First on stage was Honor Society. Never heard of them. But Chi had and she enjoyed it. I thought they were ok. FWIW Jordan Sparks was suppose to open but had to cancel or something.
100_2147.jpg
Next up was the Wonder Girls. neither Chi nor I cared for either of their two songs.
100_2148.jpg
We decided to get her tshirt and drink while we waited for the main attraction. On the way back to our seats we saw a place we could stand with a much better view. I gave Chi the option of standing or walking up stairs 23 rows back to find our seats. She chose to stand.
Finally, they arrived and took the center stage. Now from the picture below you see the inner circle - it was on a carousel that allowed it to rotate or spin around. The outer circle was on a different carousel that spinned in the opposite direction.
100_2175.jpg
On the inner circle
100_2180.jpg
On the outer circle
100_2186.jpg
Band on the inner and Jo boys on the outer circle
Then the inner circle is lowered below stage and Nick's piano pops back up
100_2199.jpg
Nick does a solo and talks about his diabetes and not giving up. I must admit I got a little misty eyed. As a parent myself I know my kids will encounter their own struggle some day and I only hope they have the determination he does.
100_2204.jpg
100_2172.jpg
Then the piano is lowered beneath stage and a trampoline pops up in its place.
100_2213.jpg
Kevin and Jo do some stunts on the trampoline then the band heads to the top stage which is lifted about 50 feet in the air.
100_2216.jpg
Then Nick's piano shows back up and they play another song.
100_2219.jpg
Doesn't Jo look so cute sitting on top the the baby grand?
Then the piano drops below
100_2224.jpg
Note too that the band's drummer's stage can be lowered or raised to be level with the top stage, the bottom stage, or below stage, or anywhere in between.
And Nick's drums appear.
100_2229.jpg
And while Nick is jammin away, Kevin and Jo stand on the catwalk to the lower stage which turns out to be a crane that raises them in the air.
100_2230.jpg
The center of the lower stage is the pivot point and the boys are rotates around the arena while spraying the audience with what I hope is water.
100_2231.jpg
100_2232.jpg
100_2233.jpg
100_2234.jpg
You can't really tell from this next photo. But after a few more songs they then head to the top stage where it starts to rain
100_2244.jpg
After introductions to the band, a couple more songs. The fake leave song, then the encore song, The boys take their final bows
100_2252.jpg
And head out
100_2253.jpg
My dad left for FL early this morning.
Is he coming to Orlando?
Had my math class today and the test I was worried about I got an A on it.
Way to go! :cool1: Math is not my forte.
I got to round 3 of trivia! There are only 12 people left! I have to get to work on those next questions- i have till thursday!
Congrats! :banana:
It just started raining....the beginning of all those lovely storms passing this way. Angela are they scaring/predicting anything up there?
I think the worst is going to miss us. Thank goodness!
Evening All!! Just home from 15hours straight !! I am exhausted !! Will chat tomorrow !!
15 hours is too many! :hug:
Debra, glad you and Chi had a good time. :goodvibes No idea who any of those people are though. :rolleyes:
I have been to the airport for the second of 5 times this week! Good thing I live close. Mitch has to fly to Nashville and then drive to somewhere between there and Knoxville. The bosses mother lives there so the meeting is near her house, but so not convenient for anyone to get to! :rolleyes:
Has anyone read the new Pat Conroy South of Broad? I had a hard time getting into it, but I'm enjoying it now.
My family just left this morning... :sad1: They said they were hoping to leave by 7 and when the puppy woke me up at 6:59, they were gone. :guilty: It's weird to see the room empty and their stuff gone.
Anyway, I should be around more now. :rolleyes: We had a lot of fun and a great trip to the beach. I post some mobile uploads on FB, but other than that, I didn't take that many pictures since I was too busy having fun. :cutie:
This is our last week of summer and C has dance team camp all week. I can't believe in a week summer's over and B will be in school all day. I will miss her so much. :guilty: She's become my buddy and I'll be so lonely without her.
I am happy that things will hopefully slow down a bit. This has been the most tiring summer ever, I think. K's bday trip is coming up, so that's something to be excited about too!
When you're DVC, do you get the paperwork before your trip? I'm not sure what to expect... :confused3
thanks - we did have a great time :goodvibes
I hadn't heard of the two opening groups either but I can't believe you don't know who the Jonas brothers are? They are a Disney made boy band VERY popular with young girls. They now have their own show which IMO is not all that great.
Sorry, I don't read...LOL
Good morning Dawn. Glad to have you back. I know what you mean about C being your buddy. That is how I feel about Chi and she is only 8. :hug:
:yay: on the bday trip being so close!!!
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
Good morning Fockers!!! today is my day off and so far I have washed two loads of clothes and folded about 4 loads from last week, started dinner in the crock pot, and cleaned the kitchen.
I am going to eat lunch with the school kids and then a dentist appt in the afternoon.
Has anyone heard from Janet??? :hug: :hug:
Afternoon! I am happily home and making my way to a productive day.
I have to put my pork in the crock, make mashed potatoes to go with it, make some tuna burgers for the lunches for the next few days, clean up some, organize some, change the bedding, take out the garbage, work on my TR and try and knock out my trivia.
At least I can hide in the A/C cause it's HOT out there!
Hi, all!
Z, glad you had a good trip, even if it was short.
T, the kitchen efforts will be worth it. ;)
Mo, glad to see you - I think I escaped just in time - they are expecting record hot temps today at home.
Debra, looks like fun.
Kristel, good job getting the house clean!
Jo, good for Jess, have fun at your dad's.
TE, we had no issues with rudeness and the French - you'll have a ball. I adore Paris.
Angela, you should start charging an airport fee... :rotfl:
Lori, congrats on the test, hope your dad has a safe drive.
Dawn, sorry your company's gone. I am personally nearly family-ed out, but... ;)
Hi, Sam!
Hi, Lessa!
Hi, Kat - take care. :goodvibes
I'm so sorry to hear about Janet. I'd texted her with the last "sick report" but didn't hear back. I don't get the twitter stuff on my phone (I should, but didn't set it up pre-iPhone and haven't managed since...)
Sorry if I've missed anyone... :hug:
*********************************************************
I am still hiding in the attic. :rotfl::rotfl:
MIL is currently at a PT appointment for her feet - she had surgery for hammer toes a bit ago. D is having lunch with his oldest friend (OK, friend for the longest time... ;)) but he's out for a run, now. FIL is at work, so I actually am fairly content alone in the house, but it's been a near thing.
We had dinner at a stepSIL's last night, after MIL and FIL took the kids to G-Force, which I hear is horrible for the grown-ups. I got out of it by waiting for D to return from a lunch with our friend in FL whom he almost went to work for last year - he'd flown into Chicago for the day, lucky coincidence. Anyway, between D's aunts leaving but then getting pulled into step family stuff, we'd like a little break, and I'm kind of getting one tonight, but D, not so much...
I am having dinner with my college roomies in the city tonight. D, the boys, and MIL/FIL/BIL/Bride are heading to the bride's parents' house for dinner with their relatives who've flown in from Ireland for the wedding. Her mom is first generation, so they have cousins, etc. coming over whom they're pretty close to.
I need to do a little shopping, and I'm still trying to figure out if I should schedule something for my hair. I had my girl cut it at home a couple of weeks ago, and mentioned that it's in that "in between" stage where I just can't do much to make it look good. I'm half feeling like cutting it off, just to get to a better place, but my goal was to grow it out some again, so I don't know. And it's not like I'm in the wedding or anything, but I want to look good! ;)
MIL is still just crazy about wanting to be with the boys constantly, all while also going nutty with wedding prep, and it's just exhausting. Sigh.
I'm hopeful things will improve as we move to the hotel downtown on Friday. But it may just go totally manic at that point... :rotfl2:
Anyway, I'd better shower or something, and make sure the kids haven't been run over or whatnot (they are playing outside. It's a dead end street, so I'm not too fearful, still...)
Have a good day! :grouphug:
It's time for another Mini TR around NYC!
One of my childhood friends, her hubby and her mom came into the city this past Friday and we spent the day out and about. You KNOW I took pics.
We met at Penn Station, did a bit of shopping (Conway), ate a light lunch and then took a bus uptown to head into Central Park.
We were headed to the area thats now most know for being in Enchanted (look a Disney reference!).
2063143530070748021S600x600Q85.jpg
We actually remembered to take pics together!
L-R me, Donna, Dori
I love all the detailing in this area. This is next to the steps.
2917777000070748021S600x600Q85.jpg
KC got a bit artsy with my camera.
2938921160070748021S600x600Q85.jpg
We plopped down by the water and watched people ride the boats. KC and I took turns snapping random pictures.
2836513430070748021S600x600Q85.jpg
Dori's hubby, Fred.
2436139940070748021S600x600Q85.jpg
We walked to one of our fav spots with all these neat twisted trees and stuff.
2092111050070748021S600x600Q85.jpg
Sweaty self pic. The rule is the first one has to be normal...
2190261210070748021S600x600Q85.jpg
And the 2nd one can be silly.
2953977500070748021S600x600Q85.jpg
So in this pic I feel like Dori's before picture...she has lost 80 lbs since I saw her last. I hardly recognized her! She did weight watchers, fyi.
2605300220070748021S600x600Q85.jpg
We then walked our way out of the park and onto 5th avenue. W ended up going into The Trump Tower to use the bathroom. We kept saying "thanks Mr Trump, you have a lovely bathroom". The place feels like being in Atlantic city to me.
There was a neat water feature thing from floor to ceiling.
2883447540070748021S600x600Q85.jpg
We walked to a nearby Dunkin Donuts, got some iced coffees and went to a new fav spot of ours to sit and realx while we waited for Dori's aunt to be done with work, and for the museum we were going to to have it's free hours.
I love me some iced coffee.
2301399020070748021S600x600Q85.jpg
This is where we sat. isn't it one of the neatest places in the middle of the city?
2661642490070748021S600x600Q85.jpg
We met Dori's Aunt Karen soon after that, at the Folk Art Museum. Turns out it was very small, we spent most of the time talking and not really looking at anything. I took a few pics and then the security guards yelled at me for it, so away the camera went. The coolest thing was a kaleidescope quilt exhibit, but i got my privileges taken away before I could get pics.
Random statue.
trying to get one last shot in of KC by the kaleidescope display.
2807633280070748021S600x600Q85.jpg
On the way out we saw a guy in the street with recycled metro card art- I had to have a pic. it was cool!
2854128620070748021S600x600Q85.jpg
We all went out for dinner at a little Italian place a few blocks away. I had a really yummy shrimp and mushroom risotto.
By then it was about 8pm and the Long Island-ers needed to catch a 9:15 train so we walked our way in the direction of Penn Station. KC & I left them at 42nd street and hopped the subway there. My legs were not walking anymore and making it to work the next morning.
It was a great day. I only get to see Dori maybe once every year and a half or so. We are hoping to make it to California to see them in the next 3 or 4 years (and DL too).
thanks for indulging me yet again!
Great pics, Kat. I still can't get over your friend and her weight loss! 80 pounds is AMAZING! She looks like she's always been a thin person, no saggy skin or anything. I wish I had that kind of will power. :guilty:
I love your mad super sleuth skillz, CE. ;) Sounds like you've got a lot going on there.
I heard from Janet this morning. She's feeling blue as Jim and Jimmy have flown home. She's still at her mom and dad's. I told her to get some rest and that we were all thinking of her and to let us know when she's well enough to fly.
Construction UPdate: Bleh!
Our project manager had a bit of a mix up and forgot to tell his crew to skim coat our hallway as well, so they had to come back to do that today, which meant the painters couldn't come. So we had workers here for about an hour this morning and then that's it for today. I'm not happy, as we were told we should be completed by next Friday. Now we're looking at the following Monday or Tuesday. :headache: I want it DONE by 9/1, since the kids go back to school on 9/2.
Andy's 40th birthday is 9/4 and I had wanted to do a big surprise party, but my brother planned a party for his own 50th the week before, so now I feel like doing a party for Andy will seem like I'm trying to one-up him, KWIM? I don't know what to do. And then if the kitchen isn't done, I'm really screwed if I plan a party! Meh!:confused3
I'm rambling, aren't I? :lmao:
T- Thanks for the Janet update. :goodvibes
Ugh, you touched on what I've been cranky about with my mom. :sad2: I hate how trying not to upset people keeps us from doing things we want to do. I say have a party. Who cares what anyone thinks. Andy's the only one who matters, right? :hug:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I got all the Science lessons planned for the year. So, that's nice. I just need to plug in A's math and I'll be pretty much done. :yay:

hey guys!

Kat- loved the pics. That detailing was so beautiful!

I had a minor freak out today when i realized that my trip to DL was only 17 days away. That means 3 labs and post labs, 2 midterms, one outline, one term paper, and work everyday in between! :faint: Better go get started!

Wow I am all caught up!!!:thumbsup2

Kat, every picture you post makes me want to go to NYC even more. Chi has already informed me that is where I am taking her when she graduates high school. :rolleyes1

Great pics, Kat. I still can't get over your friend and her weight loss! 80 pounds is AMAZING! She looks like she's always been a thin person, no saggy skin or anything. I wish I had that kind of will power. :guilty:
I was thinking the same thing. I weigh as much now as I did when I delivered Chi :scared1: And to think that I thought I was fat when I was 20 :headache: Oh what I would give to look now like what I did then. I have no will power. I am so desperate that I made an appointment with my dr for next week for some help.

I heard from Janet this morning. She's feeling blue as Jim and Jimmy have flown home. She's still at her mom and dad's. I told her to get some rest and that we were all thinking of her and to let us know when she's well enough to fly. thanks for the update.

I agree with Dawn. throw him a party if you want to. But I would wait until the kitchen was 100% done just in case they have another probelm.

Good morning Friends :goodvibes Got the kids off to school and I am dreading going to work. I think I hate Wednesdays more than Mondays. It seems that Tuesdays (my day off) I work harder trying to get everything else done. Then i don't want to go back on Wed. I haven't even woken Tau up yet.

Not much really to report. Just wanted to drop in to say hi :wave:
