I have been off and on tonight.

KC came home and we suddenly were arguing some. So he went to bed early after getting so annoyed he hit a low blow and I ended the convo. I can deal with a heated discussion but hitting below the belt ends a convo for me, I don't do rational too well.

Mostly it was about how he wants a friend to stay with him when I go to WDW (he leaves for Miami 3 days after me) and doesn't understand why I;d rather he not have anyone here. I plan to clean the house and leave him a list of things to be done before he leaves, I don't want anyone else here using dishes and towels and things that wouldn't be touched if he was just here. He works all 3 days as it is. I want to come home to a clean house, why is that hard to deal with?

URGH. Anyways I'm off to surf the boards some, I'm too peeved to go to bed yet.

So anybody got some spare Xanax for me? I have been feeling so anxious/stressed lately. I wake up fine and then it just sort of builds up through the day until it is time to sleep and I can't because my mind is racing. It is this whole job/career uncertainty thing, it is killing me. I know I want to try and get into nursing but I won't know if I got into the program until nest Spring! Until then I am sorta just biding my time. I wish I could find a decent job with just my English degree but it is proving very difficult! Nobody wants you unless you have experience but I can't get any experience because nobody will hire me! Sure I have a job now but it doesn't pay much, certainly not something I can depend on forever. I really hope the nursing things pans out or I will have wasted yet another year of my life, I'm not getting any younger!

How did you all break into the workforce after getting your degree? There has to be some sort of trick to it.

Well, I worked as a bartender for two years, then temped for the University and did well so that they hired me permanently for what is still my favorite of my jobs... So, no real advice... My job was no where close to my degree, either.

I know you work for the University anyway - is there some sort of temp placement stuff in a more office setting that you might enjoy? Once I proved myself I got a pretty good salary for back then, first job, if you KWIM.

Anyway, to you, and have a drink on me (instead of the Xanax. )

Well we spent a lovely day at the beach yesterday and I actually went in the sea, we couldn't get Ellie out she's such a water baby The boys, especially Ollie just whined all day though! Also the 2 boys screamed from 4am to 6am this morning, even woke the girls, Ollie is teething, got 3 big ones coming and my sister just gives him organic, homeopahic teething granules, he needs some Calpol (medicine pain killer) for goodness sakes


Oh and David thinks I'm having an affair!!!! (Thought I'd just leave it like that )

Lessa, I did sorta the same thing. I temped for quite awhile before I got my first real job. I did some unpain internships during graduate school in DC, but after graduation I temped while interviewing in my field. I just didn't want to take a job that was unrelated to my degree (International Relations). I finally landed a job in a German Studies think tank. The job was somewhat related to my field, but in reality, I was a administrative assistant that spoke German. But it was fun. Good luck figuring everything out!

Gotta do swim lessons again today (ugh) and then home to do some stuff around here. DS15 called me again last night (about midnight) to tell me he was having a panic attack at that SAME friends! What is going on with that kid???!!!
He hasn't had panic attacks for years, so I'm stumped why all of a sudden. And he's been friends with this kid (and gone over there) for YEARS!! I am perplexed! I told him on the phone last night that I think he's done sleeping over there for a while. I don't know what else to do!

I worked part-time for the court system when I was in college, so when I graduated and something came up full-time they hired me. I agree with someone else (???) who said try a temp agency

It can be stressful, but it will all work out in the end

Has something changed at the friends house that you don't know about? Are there other people there that aren't ususally there? (Siblings friends, etc). Is DS stressed about anything at home, does he get upset when Bob has to go out of town/the country? Hope he is aky Mel

This is so me! My grandfather worked for the YMCA so I was in the pool at 6 weeks and I still love it.

The boys, especially Ollie just whined all day though! Vacation has been better than the last one but not without a problem or two. Been a nice break.
