My understanding is race miles are doubled, period. Run, bike, swim, all X2.
Good for you on those treadmill strength workouts. When I'm on the treadmill I always vary the incline and pace, taking my level of effort up and bringing it back down for recovery. I do think increasing the incline when running is very beneficial.

Okay, you've thrown it down, so let's see 20 next week!
Martha and I were in Maine last weekend, at a 50th birthday party for a friend. It was a really pretty and nice area, with a cute little town, a former fishing villlage moving forward with the times.
I did have a real shocker Friday evening. There were 9 adults sitting around, 4 couples and a single, and given the birthday number of the guest of honor you can imagine our approximate ages. As we talked a woman said, "well I have to be the oldest person here." I certainly thought that was true, but on isolating birth years (a tie) and then birth months, we learned that I was in fact the oldest person in the building. Wonderful, I never thought of myself as the oldest anything, but Friday I got smacked in the face with this. This is just more reason for me to live as Jimmy says, "Growing older, but not up."
I did get 10,000 meters on the high school track Friday before we left. I used the track so I could be aware of my speed and hopefully control it, which I was able to do. I ran easily the entire way, with minimal L Quad issues, and finished at 9:45 per mile. I'll take it.
Today is the end of June, so be sure to send me your numbers for the last week + of June. It looks like the leading team is pulling away from the pack, but we are a solid number 2.
Best
