Team 8 Jessica's Rabbits Bios and Info

Hey team! What a horrible, horrible team member I am. I haven't been on here in quite a while. I won't even pretend I've been able to catch up with everyone's posts. I do apologize. I'm going to go back and figure out the last week that I posted miles so I can add some totals here. I really have been keeping up with training, just haven't gotten a chance to check in with all of you.

Hope everyone's having a good week!

Steve

Steve

I'll help you out here. The last numbers I have for you are up to May 31. I have nothing, nil, from you in June.

Craig

Ok, I went back and added up my mileage for the past few weeks. It wasn’t nearly as good as I had hoped. After my “ankle incident,” my running mileage went to zero and I had to be a little careful on the bike, too. And it’s amazing how swimming mileage doesn’t add up too quickly. :) So…I’ll try to get back up on the horse this week. I have a tri this weekend, so at least that’ll count as double mileage. :)

June 1-7: 113 miles, 9.75 hours
June 8-14: 51 miles, 6.5 hours
June 15-21: 42 miles, 5.5 hours

Hope everyone is having a great week. Stay safe and train hard!

Steve

Steve good luck this weekend in your Tri. Hope your ankle is better.

Thanks for the numbers Steve. I hope your ankle is improving and your lovely wife is holding up well for these last few weeks.

I am getting a little better each workout. Did 5.2 on Tuesday, and hoping for 10K tomorrow morning. My left quad still feels funny/odd on occasion during runs, and on Tuesday the funny thing is was mile 4, the 5th mile was fine. I'm lifting hard and and biking hard to rehab the thing, but sometimes I still fee as if some fluid is trickling into the muscle during runs. If this doesn't improve in the next couple of months, the training for January 10 and 11 won't be much fun.

And speaking of fun, we are registered for the Tower of Terror. We have the race registration, the Friday Halloween party, and the Saturday during race party ticket at the Studios for Lesley. All we are missing is the booked air travel, and after looking at the prices, I gulped. I'll suck it up and take care of it in the next few months. Hopefully it will be cooler and drier than last year.

Best
Craig

Have a question. I know Patrick can double his miles from the run part of the duo last Sunday but can I double my bike miles or no?

Had a great workout last night. An hour of weight and core work followed by 35 min on TM. Did what my trainer has done to me couple of times - start out at comfortable rate then start increasing the incline by 2 every two minutes until you reach 9 then increase by one ever minute until the max (which is 15 on these TMs). Then gradually back it down in twos. Goal is to stay at the pace you originally set then entire time.

I normally keep incline at 1 but after doing these once I get down to 2 feels great and stay there for another 10 min including cool down.

Have a casual 5K this weekend (still trying to figure out when 3 miles became casual....). Taking a friend of ours with for her first 5K. Should be fun.

Craig - glad it's getting better. Hope the 10K goes well. We're signed up for ToT too and will likely do the Friday party. We did it last year in costume and it was a blast! We're driving the RV down this time since will be there 8 days. Scary part is when I compared that to flying, it's cheaper to drive the gas hog than fly, park, rent a car.

Have a great day!

Thanks to my ET, my miles are going to increase!!!! (for once that is good + with no PT)

disance = 19 (highest so far)

time = 2 HOURS

I am still having alot of trouble with the humidy in the morning, but still got up three days this weeks at 5:30am for 9.3 miles. The rest is thanks to the ET, with the heat and humidy is a life savor!!

Goal next week is to hit 20 miles!!

Liz

My understanding is race miles are doubled, period. Run, bike, swim, all X2.

Good for you on those treadmill strength workouts. When I'm on the treadmill I always vary the incline and pace, taking my level of effort up and bringing it back down for recovery. I do think increasing the incline when running is very beneficial.

Swim Mom

Okay, you've thrown it down, so let's see 20 next week!

Martha and I were in Maine last weekend, at a 50th birthday party for a friend. It was a really pretty and nice area, with a cute little town, a former fishing villlage moving forward with the times.

I did have a real shocker Friday evening. There were 9 adults sitting around, 4 couples and a single, and given the birthday number of the guest of honor you can imagine our approximate ages. As we talked a woman said, "well I have to be the oldest person here." I certainly thought that was true, but on isolating birth years (a tie) and then birth months, we learned that I was in fact the oldest person in the building. Wonderful, I never thought of myself as the oldest anything, but Friday I got smacked in the face with this. This is just more reason for me to live as Jimmy says, "Growing older, but not up."

I did get 10,000 meters on the high school track Friday before we left. I used the track so I could be aware of my speed and hopefully control it, which I was able to do. I ran easily the entire way, with minimal L Quad issues, and finished at 9:45 per mile. I'll take it.

Today is the end of June, so be sure to send me your numbers for the last week + of June. It looks like the leading team is pulling away from the pack, but we are a solid number 2.

Best
Craig

Swim Mom

Okay, you've thrown it down, so let's see 20 next week!

Ok, Craig - I know it is only Thur, but I really jinsked (sp) myself this week.

Sat & Sun - nothing, but sat by the pool (bad me)
Mon - Rain storm in the am, so no AM run
Tue - Run
Wen - Elipitical 30 min
Thur - got up to run, but pain in the big toe (really) not sure if it is a hang nail or what - but it throbbed all night -- SO I DID 35 MIN ON MY ELIPITICAL.

So there is no way I am getting any where near 20!!

No shame is making it next weeks goal,,,,,right?:confused3

I will post my final numbers tomorrow - after I run in the am!!

My miles/hours for June

June 8 - 14
Hours: 1.0
Miles : 9

June 15 - 21
Hours: 1.0
Miles: 0

June 22 - 30
Hours: 2.0
Miles : 18

I think I'm a few weeks behind in posting numbers, but first the big news...

For my birthday DH said I could register for the 2009 WDW half marathon!
:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
So, that's what I did today (through Anthony Travel). I'm pretty excited about it, but it means I will be doing a lot of running this fall.:rotfl:

Now the numbers:

June 15-21
hours: 5.67
miles: 29.1

June 22-30
hours: 5.82
miles: 29.8

I have a 10K race on Sunday, so I'm pretty excited about that too. I'm hoping to finish in under 60 minutes.

Good luck with the toe Swim Mom

Thanks for the data for you and Patrick, Liz. Martha and I are signed up for the Tower of Terror, with Lesley coming for the parties only. We're arriving on Jet Blue about 11:30 a.m. Friday, and will be at the Friday Halloween party as well. Martha and I were there last year and had a great time.

Thanks for the numbers as well Mom of 2.

Carol, congratulations on getting into the field for the full. I'm happy to share the course with you on January 11. We can build those serious miles as a group this fall.

I'm making fair progress back to fitness, and did 7 miles at mid day today. It was pretty dry and not too warm, but still the last 2 miles were a fight. I carried just under 10 mpm and will take that right now. The best part was nothing hurt at all, that troublesome left quad is getting stronger from all the lifting and weight work.

I hope you all are well and have a great 4th of July. I think we're chilling out during the day and driving into the city to watch the firework show at 10 p.m.

Be sure to send me your numbers for your June work that I haven't seen yet.

But more importantly, check in with an update on the more fun stuff. We have some really good folks in this group, and I enjoy hearing what you're up to.

Craig

Hi team...on vacation but still managed to get the workouts in...

Here are my miles from June 22-June 30:

Miles = 45

Hours = 13.25

You all are doing a great job! Keep it up and have an awesome July 4th!!!

Craig:

Hi there! As you can tell, I am back from points south. I only have 3 miles and 30 minutes to add to my already submitted June numbers. I am already working on July numbers and hope to be able to contribute more this month.

Hello Bunnies. Please welcome your new team mate, Big Dave 10000. Now be on your best behavior y'all, don't want your new guy thinking y'all are country do ya.

Visiting Panda:hippie:

Welcome Big Dave 10000! I'm in the "rarely" post category. But I'm here and working out diligently. Just a bit sluggish and non-motivated. But that doesn't mean I'm not trying. It's just hard to post.

How's everyone else on the team? Sorry I'm so MIA. No excuse (I know, I always say that) but I'm with you in spirit. Really I am.

My IT band is acting up again so it's back to rolling and ibuprofen. What fun. I did get 4 miles in over the weekend in what was a pretty good run.

Hope everyone had a nice, safe holiday weekend!

Welcome Big Dave 10000!!

Here are Pat's and mine numbers for July 1-7. As they're nearly identical you can tell there was a holiday, my bday and general laziness.

Me:
Miles 19.06
Hours: 2.25

Pat
Miles: 19.86
Hours: 2.25

Got back in the groove last night and ready to take it on this week!

Pat signed up for an Xtreme 10 Miler on July 26 - it's a trail run with a couple nasty hills. Since I can't make the pace required, am volunteering as bike lead for one of the waves. Should be fun.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Sorry about the late numbers just returned from 10 days at WDW.

Week of June 22-30

Running Miles: 20.5
Time: 2 Hours, 55 minutes

Cross-Training Miles: 3.1
Time: 28 Minutes

Lifting (Free Weights - if it counts  ): 15 minutes

I was away on vacation during a good portion of this week and sick for a day too. Given those impediments, I did pretty well.

More coming up soon... GREAT JOB BUNNIES! I MEAN RABBITS!

AmyBeth: :worship: :worship: :worship:

Welcome Big Dave 10000!!

Craig: Also add on 6.2 miles to my June numbers for two 5K's I ran. Cam mentioned that you get double miles for a race which I had not known before. Thanks!
