Team 8 Jessica's Rabbits Bios and Info

Hi Team! :goodvibes:

So I missed a couple of runs this week due to both not feeling right and a pesky shin something-or-other that decided to flare up on me.

Good news is that it meant hitting the elliptical, which results in more miles for the time spent ;)

My totals:

Miles: 58.98
Time: 6:48:12 (6.8 hours)

It included cycling, running, ellipticizing, stationary biking and pilates.

Next week I'll get those hours up over 7 again and shoot for the 60 mile mark :)

Great job everyone!!!

Thanks everyone for your weekly results. I've input everything I've received so far.

Right now we're back in front, but that's because I input the numbers pretty much as I receive them. The other big teams put in their weekly number in a dump, sort of like the 1960 presidential election in Illinois when Mayor Daley waited to know how many votes Cook County needed to put JFK in the white house, and then mysteriously produced them ;) .

Amy

Good for you on the hills. If I've told you this before, sorry, but here it is.

When I was 28 I ran a bunch of 10K's and finished between 40:24 and 41. I was working so hard for a sub-40, but didn't have it. The last one was a September 40:24, and I was mentally crushed to get so close. Over the winter, once a week I did 200 or 400 meter repeats at 6 mpm pace. My first 10K of the season was in mid-April, I finished in 37:50, and I literally said out loud, "where did that come from?"

As you noted, when you're doing a bunch of 6 mpm repeats, speed and strength, when you race at 6:20 per mile it feels effortless.

Scott

Thanks for the big miles! You're really grinding them out.

Liz and Patrick

You're contributing well, thanks.

Martha, my dearest

I know the new job and today's entertainment are making it hard to put in miles and time, so thank you helping our side produce a result (you need to practice your soccer language for March 16  ).

Erin

Thanks for the spreadsheet. I always love the charts.

Best to all

Craig

My totals for this week:

Miles = 17.75
Time = 182 minutes

Again, most of my time and miles are from cross training. I've been trying to transition from walking to a walk/run. It's not going well.:sad2: My shins are not made for running.

Hey team! Great times and miles. Today is a rest day (I ALWAYS think Friday's should be rest days) but with the snow I now have 20 minutes of cardio for the new week! It's coming down rather steadily now. I'm "working" from home. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. :rotfl:

What races do folks have coming up? Is anyone running the Minnie? I think there will be a WISH meet on Saturday of that weekend. I'll be there.

Stay safe everyone!

My Weekly (weakly?) report:

I had to take 3 days off due to some day surgery, so I didn't do as much this week as last. I'm also still fighting a cold (which has me coughing), and some knee pain (which is annoying). :rolleyes1 Now that I have all my excuses lined up...

Hours: 2:32 (2.53)
Miles: 8.62

Blizzard you did great! Hope your feeling ok and the surgery went well. :wizard: BTW, any kind of surgery and I'd have been out for a week or two ;) I'm impressed!!! Feel better!!!! :flower3:

You Bunnies are burning up the miles! Way to go!!!

I didn't get a chance to read much beyond seeing all those really really big numbers but I know Susan (mousemgr) has had some cold issues this past week. We are hoping to get out on Sunday for a few miles so hopefully we'll get some miles in for next week.

Keep up the awesome work Team Jessica Rabbits!!!! Woohoo!!!! :cheer2:

So my totals for this week are way better than last week, still didn't hit my goal of 20 miles, but there's always next week, right? :)

Miles: 18.6
Time: 164 minutes/2:44 hours

Stephen should be home in a few minutes to post his numbers. Great job, Rabbits!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Sorry team for not posting much. I had my first Exam in 1 and 1/2 years. Man was I stressing but I needent have worried, 100%. Well I am hoping to get more hours and miles in this coming week, running on the treadmill oddly reduces my stress. Well I am off to a good start 50 minutes of shoveling the drive, then 30 on the bike for my cross training, then 5 on the treadmill to stretch out the muscles that got tight on the bike, then 5 minutes of ab work. Tomorrow is a four mile long run, that I am going to chase with a 40 minute bike. I am really hoping to kick a tri courses but rather than have it hand mine back to me. It has done it in the past. Green Lakes I will conquer you. Plus I want to go sub 1h 25 minutes on Minnie. Beat Lynne's time from two years ago and maybe beat her.

Craig- I am glad you like the graphs they give me a visual representation of what I have been doing. Plus it helps me learn the program better for when I have to do graphs like that for my Forensic Science course.

To all the other Bunnies- All we can do is get our miles and hours in as best we can. I am so proud of everyone for coming this far in just a few short weeks. Yes Matt may be getting lots of miles in but so are we. So keep up the good work.

Martha- I felt like such a slug the past two weeks myself. I had that great first week then school and work seemed to get in the way but I now have a plan. My treadmill time is my me time, I read textbooks while biking and think of what to put next in my three page paper while shoveling snow. All you have to do is find a grove and try to stick to it but be flexible enough not to get too stressed when your grove goes away for a few days.

Well my fellow bunnies and honored guests, I should get back to that paper and then head on to bed. I will try to post more often.

Erin

Good morning fellow bunnies!

The snow is still here--not melting yet except where we shovelled. I got to add 40 minutes of shovelling to this week's totals. That's about the only good thing about it. I was hoping to run outside today but the sidewalks are still a bit dicey so I will pass. Maybe tomorrow.

Erin: yup--I just gotta get out there and find my groove. I did have some fun yesterday as I ran 3 miles of speed work. 2 minutes slow 1 minute fast for 3 miles. It felt really good. I just hope I can get outside tomorrow rather than on the TM. We'll see.

I hope everyone is out there putting in those miles and minutes! Have a great day everyone!!!

Hello Darcey, Steve, Jeff, Helen, Kate, and Susan

Could you all send me your miles and hours for Feb 16-22? Once I have this information I'll be able to complete the weekly results.

Thanks

Craig

My totals for this week are:

Miles: 40.5
Time: 6.5 hours/390 minutes

Steve

Hey Erin: congrats on the 100% exam! That's a sweet score. You rock :cool1:

My time this week is miniscule: 9.53 miles and 1 hr 47 minutes.

Life has been getting in the way quite a bit. I have the Sarasota half-marathon coming up this Sunday, so I'm coming off the taper anyway.

Take Care all,
Jeff

Sorry Craig - okay lots of walking rather than running this week so...

Miles: 12
Time: 3 hrs 30 minutes

So, do we get sightseeing points (hiking round forest looking for kangaroos and striding round city looking at 'not very interesting' buildings...- if so, I'm about to rack up a HUGE hourage for the 23rd February - koala hunting is very time consuming - especially when there's only 7 of them in a forest of about 7000 trees!!!!

Helen

If you are out walking as you look for the mighty Koala, then the time counts. The standing, pointing, and photographing time won't, so just keep track of the actual walking time.

Thanks

Craig

Hello team!

Erin - congrats on the 100%!

Yesterday was 38 and sunny here so actually managed to walk outdoors! Good thing as now we have a winter storm warning up from 6p-noon tomorrow. Looks like I'll have shoveling time again.

Was feeling a bit down after yesterday's walk. One shin felt like it was cramping so had to slow down and didn't meet my goal time. When DH came in (he went further than me) told him didn't know why I even bothered. He wisely suggested coming out here and doing some reading/posting. Didn't stay on line long and didn't post but it did help put things back in perspective and made me realize that anything is better than nothing. I will not quick and I will in fact succeed!

Thanks for being here everyone!
