Team 8 Jessica's Rabbits Bios and Info

Darcey - spreadsheet looks good! Nice roll up to the 2008 totals page.

I totally forgot the "dorks"...Speaking of which, take a look at this:

http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=p2mSDyx16nAzm4ETNTavrTg

Hopefully, once we get underway, we'll be able to view all teams stats in this one location.

Darcey - YOU SO TOTALLY ROCK!:cool1:

I have been a big fan of Google Docs & Spreadsheets for a long time, and this is a *perfect* example of how it can (and should) be used. I'm gettin' all warm & fuzzy and stuff...maybe I should excuse myself for a minute...:rolleyes1

Okay, I'm back.

So both myself and Mel (Chimera) love ST Voyager; we've DVR'd the whole 7 years of episodes, and are watching them again. For some reason, we've missed the one episode where Kess comes back as 'Evil Kess'...it's sad, but I love that show!

Your favorite Holiday Armadillo,
Jeff

I just love being married to a nerd.
Krista

Whoah, whoah, whoah! Watch the low blows! ;)

Kate--Krista and I live in Liberty Township, off of Cincy-Dayton Rd, so we are REALLY close neighbors! Need any running partners?? Welcome to the team!

Erin--I must say that I'm jealous of you and Lynne moving to the islands. I know it won't be all fun and games out there, but just to wake up every morning in Hawaii.....yeah, I could go for that!

Amy, Scott, Darcey--ok, between the games, child of the 80's comments, Ozzy.....you know, I never thought all of that added to my nerd/geek factor, but thanks for giving me a complex about it now.

Wow, so this thread is moving even more quickly than the weekly training thread! I thought I was having a hard time keeping up with that one and now this one, too....:sad2: I'm debating quitting my job and becoming a full time WISHer, but I'm not sure if that pays the bills quite as well.

Have a great day, guys!

Steve

Wait a minute, you have to keep your job, I already called dibs on quitting work once the baby is born. ;)

Erin--Is your Mom moving to HI too? I am so jealous of you and Lynne. Sigh.

Jeff--Holiday Armadillo! One of my favorite episodes, next to candy lady.

The rest of the teams had better be careful, I noticed last night that it was 8:00 and I wasn't tired yet (:dance3: :dance3: ) and I have a month and a half of pent up runs in me.

BRING IT!!!!

Krista

I'm Susan (AKA DianeL's training buddy). I am a walker (and a slow one at that, hence the turtle with the rocket). I started walking in 2005 when we (Diane and I) made our first attempt at the half marathon. Of course we didn't finish, but then again we didn't train either. I know, we're not the sharpest tools sometimes, but once we started training we found a passion for it.

I've overcome some injuries along the way. Most of them were due to having improper fitting shoes. After hundreds of dollars, numerous pairs of shoes, and lots of physical therapy, I recovered and found myself training for the 2008 Mickey. We trained long and we trained hard. And then in November one of my biggest wishes came true; I found a new and better job. :surfweb:
So, after much angst I decided to take the job and forego the Marathon. Our plan is to do the 2010 Full Marathon. We are already signed up for the 2009 Donald.

Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I'm not concerned about my pace so long as I don't get swept. My biggest concern is having fun and getting healthy.

Completed Events:
2006 Donald
2007 Donald
2007 Flying Pig 10k
2007 TOT
2007 Flying Feather 4 Miler (John Bingham Racing)

Upcoming Events:
April 2008: The Martian Marathon (Dearborn, MI)
2008 Minnie Marathon 5k and possibly 15k
2008 Race for The Taste

Hello Susan, and welcome.

:tiptoe: Last member of Team 8 checking in!!!

I’m excited to be on the best team!

A little about me – I started reading the WISH board at the end of 2005. There was a lot of excitement about the 2006 race weekend. I made sure to return to the boards in Jan 2006 to read everyone’s reports about the races. It sounded like a lot of fun!!! I had never exercised much but thought that a trip to WDW :earsboy: :earsgirl: would be good incentive for me to get moving and try to exercise more. I registered for the half marathon that spring. In August, My DH (Mike – Optimator) decided to register too and train with me. We followed MFM walking plan. It was fun training together that fall. We completed the 2007 half together (the first race for both of us). Since that time Mike has taken off. He now runs, while I still walk.
I also completed the Minnie ::MinnieMo last year and will be returning to do the 15K again in May.

Darcey – :thumbsup2 I love the spreadsheet!

Krista – your baby ticker is fun to watch! It’s amazing to think about that incredible and precious life growing inside you.

Susan – I’m glad there’s another walker in our group.:woohoo:

Darcey, Helen, AmyBeth – :cake: I have that special birthday this year too!

Steve – I still haven’t gotten around to writing a race report but I really need to say :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: for taking care of Mike’s bag during the half marathon. I was soooo happy to see him (and all you guys) at Mile 12. I was at the top of the hill coming down into the Epcot parking lot and I could see a huge green glow. The team shirts are great! Seeing that inspired me to keep going and then when I saw that Mike was there – WOW!!! I was ready to quit – I wasn’t feeling great – but having him by my side for the last mile helped me finish strong. Thanks for watching his bag and precious medal!!!!

I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone better during 2008 and celebrating our victory at POP in 2009.

No, somebody actually mooned your team?? That's horrible. Who would ever do such a thing?? :confused3

CRAIG! I'm shocked!

Susan there will be 4 miles of training endurance taking place Friday morning thru snow. (and we really need a devil smiley!) i know my training partner's weakness and will train in them :lmao: Come play in the snow Susan and no throwing snowballs at your buddies heads :duck:

Hi, bunnies! Quit "mooning" around and get a workout in! I just checked your logo, are you sure you aren't the triple d's?? Anyway, even with all those so-called lucky rabbits feets, you ain't got a chance against DianeL and Team Hakuna Matata, we have cunning and skill and that beats rabbit feets! :rotfl:

xxxooo Connie, Captain

Debra here, from Team Ohana! :cool2:

:listen: Did someone say spreadsheets? :cloud9: Great job on the challenge spreadsheet, Darcey.

Hey, Helen & Amy. Just wanted you to know that Mel has noticed a lot of us turning 40 this year. We should all do something to commemorate the event, maybe at the Disney Marathon weekend. Preferably something involving debauchery.... Oh, and you know that I've volunteered to run a few miles in your honor on your big day--but the miles stay with Ohana! (Oh, and Amy, I thought you might like to know I picked up George Sheehan's This Running Life at the library today; I could have sworn you had one of his quotes in your siggie.)

Hey Kathy! Mike dropped by Ohana & suggested DH and I sign up for Cleveland--maybe because I think Cleveland rocks! It sounds like a party.

Anyway, this is just a quick, friendly drive-by before the competition begins. I'm sure glad you chose Jessica's Rabbits for your team name, 'cuz I think yinz are gonna need all the lucky rabbits' feet you can get!

Welcome Kathy

So we are all ready to go. Heck, I even re-arranged my schedule so tomorrow is a 5 miler. Can't let those hecklers from team Ohana jump away from us first day. And you are partially right about Optimator Mike. He's gone past walking and running to nearly flying, with some of those results he's produced.

Carrie, okay who mooned team 7? WWDave insisted on none of that stuff. Is a spell in time out required?

Craig

Hey guys! Krista said we must have all the hard workers on our team since we don't post constantly during the work day like some of the other slacker, nothing-better-to-do-than-hit-refresh-on-the-web-page teams. :)

I forgot that this little competition actually kicks off tomorrow. Stupid me, I scheduled a 1 mile swim for tomorrow, which means I'll contribute a measly mile to our total, unless I wimp out and do even LESS than one mile. Yep, glad I could help out. :sad2:

Kathy--I didn't realize you were on our team! I read the screen names several times, but had forgotten your screen name. Can you break your husband's leg so he won't rack up the miles for an opposing team? Actually, that's a little harsh. Maybe just cause him to stub his toe or something.

Hope everyone is having a good week. Talk to you guys later!

Steve

Craig - That would eb slacker swim-boy moonie people. Better put a leash on him!

I really hope no one is offended by this...I love our logo but I thought it was kind of hard to read - so I rearragned the words and graphics so it is easier to read...

If you all like the other way better I will not be offended...just thought I would put it out there...

Okay team, I was not planning on doing marathon weekend in 2009. Now, I have a dilemma with all this challenge business.

I guess it would be possible to make a quick trip down on Thursday, do the 5K on Friday, then Goofy and head home on Sunday...

Opinions..would it be too much?
