Team 8 Jessica's Rabbits Bios and Info

Good morning Bunnies. Just wanted y'all to know it's FAT TUESDAY, so it's ok to pile on the chilli cheese fries today. You can work it off tomorrow so relax and eat today. Really it's ok.

I'm sending a new player over to join the Bunnies. Please welcome the Canadian Blizzard.

Hi gang, just stopping by. Got 10 miles in 1:54 and did 30 min mowing - does that count as XT?

The game is wrapping up, and I'm looking forward to the training that we are all going to post this week. Steve's already shown that this contest/project has given some motivation, so

:cheer2: GO RABBITS!! :cheer2:

Have a great week, all, and stay healthy! I will try to keep Mel from racking up the miles for that 'other' team. I think I'll keep telling her she looks tired and needs to rest.:faint:

Jeff put a tan conv top on that stang and it would look just like ours. It was Erica's ride but since we got a new VW. I'm banished to the stang, oh darn.

Hi,

I'm new to the team.

My name is Carol, and my goal is to run the 2010 WDW marathon. We now have a treadmill in our house, so I'm starting the training with the C25K program.

I am 38 years old, and have 2 kids at home (3 year old boy and an 8 month old girl)

Can someone let me know when/how to post our miles & minutes. (just on this thread? or somewhere else?) Thanks!

Carol

Hello and Welcome. My wife and I (Red Dragon) have managed to visit the major Canadian cities and regions of the eastern and western zones, but we've never been to the great cities of Alberta. Perhaps one day, and then a certain trip up into the Rockies.

Unfortunately you've joined a team with 1 significant disadvantage. I'm sorry to tell you that your team's captain although well meaning, is completely unfamiliar with power and authority. In his athletic career he never was a team captain, and throughout his work career, he has never, ever managed even 1 single person. How he's managed to achieve this result is a closely guarded secret.

The training week count runs from Friday to Thursday. We began on Friday, Feb 1, so week 1 will end on Thursday, Feb 7. So we'll need you to report your total time of CV exercise (all types, run, walk, bike, X-train, swim, all) and your miles covered (again by all methods) during each week.

You can get this to me by 2 methods. You can simply post it in this thread each Friday and I'll pick it up. You can also e-mail it to me at:

stephenson@babson.edu

Good luck building up to 26.22 in January 2010. You'll find our little team has all types of distance event participants. You'll also find you will be called "young kid," being only 38 and the mother of 2 little ones.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask. You'll get lots of answers, whether or not they're good answers is for you to decide! In advance, I would recommend you mix up your training as you build to the marathon. Some running, biking, x-training, and lifting will help you build strength while reducing the likelihood of injury. Many of us have found that as the years fly past us we are unable to run every day, or train hard every day. Mix hard and easy days and build slowly, and before you know it, on January 10, 2010 you'll cross the finish line in the EPCOT parking lot, to the applause of your loved ones.

But fortunately your friendly helpful Panda is a retired military first sgt. So I will help Craig keep the unruley Bunnies in line. He really needs a co-captain, it always helps to have someone else to blame.

I find it completely unnecessary to run hard ANY day, much less every other day or every other other day. Too much work. :)

Carol--welcome to our little team. We've already decided that we have the hardest working team of the bunch as we post on here a lot less than some of the other slacker teams. :) All kidding aside, don't let Craig fool you--he is quite the expert/mentor on this endurance journey. I have learned a great deal from him over the past few years.

Good luck on beginning your training and like Craig said, feel free to ask all sorts of questions and let us know how you're doing. Great to have you here!

Steve

I hope this works. This is our stang in the background. Erica is leaving after a race.

Well Craig what am I the infant of the team? All kidding aside I have done 56.1 miles this week and 5 hours and 15 minutes. So for being the young one of the group I think I am pulling my weight.
Carol- Welcome to probely the nuttiest team that was created, but we are good bunnies get our miles and hours in and have fun while doing it.
Jeff- how is training for the Sarasota half? I am thinking of doing the Martain Half in April. I miss you my bestest running buddy. Did anyone get good action shots of us? I am trying to find some.
So for all the tech geeks out there I created my spreadsheet with graphs and everything to track my workouts week to week and of course by month. And it was made on a mac. ;)
Erin

Gee, thanks, Dave. That car is right up there with Craig's Ducati.

Just checking in with the team. It looks like everyone is doing great. Unfortunately, not me! I've only been able to get 3 hours XT in. Today, it'll be 70 here, so I hope to get out and run.

Welcome, CAROL! We have the BEST team!

Hi guys...just checking in but will email totals to our fearless leader tomorrow evening. So far... my miles are a little low but I will be biking today....so that should bump up.

Got over 6 hours logged to this point and 13.5 miles. Didn't get a long run in this weekend and haven't jumped on a bike (stationary or otherwise) yet.

I hope everyone is doing well!

Welcome Carol!!!!

Amy

Could I possibly be Bullwinkle instead? If I am in fact Fearless Leader, then you must be Nell Fenwick. Sorry, but if I give any female other than Martha the title of Natasha Fatale, I'll be sleeping in the garage.

I think Steve or Scott are our fastest members, so one of them can be Rocky the Flying Squirrel.

I look forward to everyone's numbers after their Thursday training. I am really curious what the results will look like across the 8 teams. I suspect someone in the 8 teams will apply factor analysis to the dataset and generate reports, significant variables, trends, and pivot tables. Luckily that person won't be me.

Craig

Dave: :cool2: sweet pic :cool2: Thanks for posting the picture of the Mustang! DW saw the picture last night and said I couldn't look at it :lmao: Mel must think I have Mustang on the brain...well, maybe I do ;)

Erin: wow, over 50 miles? that's an amazing total for a week. Your Garmin barfed like mine, didn't it? We have thought about the Martian run, too, but it's kinda like, in MICHIGAN, so I dunno if we'll be able to get some babysitting action, etc.

See ya,
Jeff

I feel so inferior right now. Everyone is logging high miles and lots of minutes. I, on the other hand, am logging lots of meetings and work-related stuff so not much from me other than what I did over the weekend. I really, really hope to get better but when you have 7 meetings in one day and not easy meetings, mind you, one tends to be somewhat exhausted by the end of the day.

You all are doing great! I hope to be worthy of the team soon!!

Craig:

I'll be analyzing, but not online. That's part of the fun.

Hey, I'll be the first to put in my totals for the week, since I just finished my workout for today. It's not much, but I just started on Tuesday. I'm doing C25K 3 times a week, and doing some walking on the other days (when I can).

Week 1:
Miles - 5.4
Hours - 1:33 (or 1.55 if you're using decimals)

HI guys...Just sneaking in to check out the competition here. I've got a few journaling bunnies, I mean, buddies on this team! :goodvibes

You guys are kicking it!!! Look at all those miles!!!

I'd better hop back over to team 7 and get some miles in!

Stacie

Thanks Carol, I have your numbers in the Rabbits' spreadsheet. I'll put them all in Darcey's creation when I have them all.

Craig

Evening all!
Posting for me and Patrick (tiggerspal222). You know the "well since you're already on there...."

Me - miles 7.65; hours 4:12 (lots of snow shoveling :faint: )
Patrick - miles 11.26; hours 3:55 (managed to avoid most of the shoveling)

Thanks!
