Ummmmm - YEAH!!! Watching it is the equivalent of a fantasy. Something you might want to view or even use as a marital aid. PERFORMING in it is a different ball game - they are basically prostitutes.

This makes no sense.

It is not okay to star in a porno, but it is ok to watch said porno.

If people shouldn't star in a porno, then there would be no porno to watch for those who are in need of a marital aid.

since schools like most government agencies have major confidentiality policies regarding their employees and personnel actions, i suspect she was suspended while the school conducted an investigation during which time there would have been no public disclosure about the basis of the suspension by the school. i suspect SHE was the reason the issue went public (likely advised by a union rep or lawyer as a means to get public opinion on her side to sway the school board).

i question some of the information in the story-it seems unlikely that an individual with bi-polar disease to the extent that she claims she suffered (she blames it as the cause) would have been accepted into voluntary military services esp. progressing to assignment in the military police (these folks go under psych evaluations that should have diagnosed the illness well before she would have been given this type of assignment). so in my mind-if she is misleading about that issue she may be misleading about the extent to which she was involved in an industry that the school board deems inappropriate for their teachers (and i don't see where the school board has verified that this is the real issue-could she have other disciplinary issues and is using this as a smoke screen to get public support? i've seen it happen (not with porn but with "discrimination"-cloud the real issue with claims of "you're doing this to me because"-and if you are the "do-er" you can't publicly discuss the real reason a disciplinary action is being taken).

i think before the school board is judged ALL the pertinant information would have to be known.

I'm amazed that some people think that a one day stint in a porn movie might lead to that person being a child molester. That's quite a stretch.

Personally, I just want a good teacher in the classroom. I don't care about his or her past as long as it's legal and over with.

I also just want a good teacher in the classroom. If you think about it, our total life experiences make us who we are, and influence how we deal with situations and people. I would NOT want a virginal unmarried school marm or man for that matter teaching my kids. I want someone who has lived life and, realistically, made both good and bad choices that they've learned from, because they are going to be the most enlightened and best able to cope with a whole classroom of questioning kids! Someone who's lived their life in a squeaky clean bubble, IMHO, just doesn't have the means to cope realistically with todays kids.

Say like ....um....it was found out that a certain member of the Disboards, made a certain type of 'artsy" film....VERY TASTEFULLY DONE...in the early '80's...and maybe the Disboard owner rented it (Ya Know for a Marital Aid purposes) and saw this said Disboard member, possibly acting as a young naive pizza delivery boy. Whose performance was very realistic, texture with subtle nuiances and quite a extrodinary & gifted performer.

Could this Dis member get thrown off the boards?

OKay just searched--the actress' name is Valerie Allain and evidently there are two actresses with the same name.

Still haven't found appropriate links to confirm that though. Just chit chat on a board found by google.

I would not feel comfortable with my child's teacher being a former "porno star". If they have no more morals than to have sex for money on TV - what else are they capable of? Yeah, I could just see Ron Jeremy or Jenna Jamison as my kid's teacher - NOT.

My thoughts also. The poster not only knows who Jena and Ron are, but knows how to spell their names correctly. Did they copy the names from the video box over there on their coffee table?

I didn't see where anyone said this.

But you at least have to admit that starring in a porno is way out there on the edge of the wild side.

It would seem that there are a lot of intermediary steps from the "girl next door" to taking on all-comers in a pornographic movie.

Before I ask my question, I wanna make it clear that if the schools are OK with having a former porn star for a teacher, fine with me. It's got a big Ew factor, so I'd just dive into denial, pretend I didn't know about it. None of my beezwax, anyway. (Which puts me in the position of sorta agreeing with Declan'sdad! )

There's been a lot of talk about the fact that since it was Legal, it is OK. Which gets me to thinking (here's the question)...Why is it illegal to do the deed for money, but OK to the deed for money if it is being filmed for the purpose of making even more money??? And why don't Ladies of the Evening just hook up cameras and say they are making films, thereby legalizing their, um, profession?

I wouldn't care if both options were legal, I'm not arguing that. I honestly don't get the distinction.

Lisa, when was that standard in place? I don't remember it, and I'm much older than I like to admit.

Also, going from "virgin unmarried" to Miss big gulp in a porn movie is one extreme to the other, don't you think?
