My sister and I are planning a Sept trip and would like to stay at the Dolphin. My sister is a Teacher's aide and we want to take advantage of the discount. Does my sister have to make the reservation or can I make it? Should I put both names on the reservation?

Good luck with the reservations. I'm a teacher and have had the worst time trying to actually make a reservation with their discount. They aren't available during the times that teachers have vacations and they are very, very limited the rest of the time. I love the idea that someone is willing to give teachers some help but so far, I'm not impressed. With all the frustration, it comes across that they have the discount to make themselves look good, not to actually be useful.

Hi Pat,

We have booked a room at the Swan for this coming August with the Teacher discount without any problem, nor did we have any in August of 2004. However, there is now a special of $129 for a standard room with a free upgrade, which is much better than the regular teacher rate. It must be booked by 3/31/06 for a stay between 7/28 and 9/30/-06. Believe it is listed on the homepage of this website - right hand side.

Would think the reservation would have to be in your sister's name, but you could give the Swan a call. 1-888-828-8850. She will have to show some sort of ID. When we called a few weeks ago, the offer had just been put into their computers, but they were able to find it. If you haven't stayed here before, you will be in for a treat - a great hotel in a fabulous location. Enjoy!!

Thanks for the info. I usually make all the travel reservations but this time my sister will have to make it in her name. Better safe than sorry. We have never stayed at the Dolphin and we are lookiing forward to it.

I agree. I love Disney SO much, but can never afford it because it is always so expensive to go during school vacations! :0)
