Hi We are traveling with some Friends on the cruise and they are worried since they are heavily tatted up with tattoos. Is there any specific tattoo policy that we should know about for the cruise? I'm sure they will be covered in Disney shirts most the cruise, but while near the pool is where they are concerned. Thanks!

None that I'm aware of.

I'm not sure if there is an actual tattoo policy but you will see all kinds of people with tattoo's on the cruise. I have 3 myself, never had a problem, but then again I'm not covered in them. I assume if they're not vulgar tattoo's, they shouldn't have a problem.

if its just your name or a love heart i assume they will allow it unless the board of disney have something against cutsie things i also strongly beleive that if it is rude/vulger they wont have anything against it

What do you mean by "heavily tattooed"? My husband has a mermaid that covers his entire back (kinda like Ariel) but it's super classy. Pretty sure I couldn't ever get him to wear a Disney shirt though :rolleyes1

That's nice of you to ask for your friends though :thumbsup2

Well you did comment with "Sounds Classy" after others commented on their opinions! Not sure what response you expected!?!

Tattoos are not for me, but as long as they are non offensive, who am I to say or DCL to say you can't have them and cruise? (unless your a CM and the tatt is visible when in costume)

Many of the previous posters comments since joining the DIS have been antagonist and/or rude. Think it's best to just ignore it.

I've known many "classy" people who either have or like tattoos. Not everyone with tattoos is trashy and to automatically make such an assumption? Time to ignore. :)

To the OP: I think your friends will be fine on Disney cruises with tattoos. There are no policies against having them as long as they aren't inappropriate (just like t-shirts).

We have tattoos and no one even looked twice...except of course when they stared and pointed at my 7 inch Tinkerbelle tattoo on my right calf and my husband's Mickey Mouse on his right calf ;) We love Disney!! :thumbsup2

I just got the giggles over this. What are they going to do? "Excuse me, ma'am, can you change your skin?"

My DH is a tattoo artist, so it's fair to say he is pretty much covered. We have been on numerous disney cruises and never had a problem. Some people even stop him and ask them about them.

I'm not aware of any prohibitions on tattoos.

Unfortunately, on our cruise in April we saw lots of ink on folks. Some guys wanted to show their tats off so much that they broke DCL rules and wore shorts in the MDRS during dinner. Yikes!!! One guy in the MDR wore a sleeveless shirt that displayed his beefy ink stained arms. He also wore his Nascar hat during dinner, but you didn't ask about that. Oh well, Disney does attrack all kinds, whether its on a cruise or at the parks.

Tell your friends not to worry about their tats and to enjoy their cruise!

Mike

Does he mind it? Because I love asking ;) I have none but I just love the story behind a tat. Some are very emotional and CLASSY.

Mike...lol..YOU would be my dream tablemate ;)
